Coming from the Melee community, and as a former Ludwig viewer when he had less than 10k subs on YT, I can confirm him being a little clout goblin who will suck off whoever in the room he can get the most out of is nothing new, its what hes always done to grow. Also having watched him back when his content was more genuine and he wasnt so brand safe, its very obvious to me he is towing many lines that he doesn’t genuinely believe in to maintain the approval of the in-group. I dont think he ever wanted to be political, but he put himself in a space where hes forced to be, and of course have a specific leaning. There was a very clear point where his content stopped being authentic and he became a “say all the safe and correct things to make the popular streamers like me” guy. That was when I stopped watching him.

If it cheers up Destiny at all, the smack talking done by Hasan and other randos is actually how I found Destiny. I had no idea who he was but everyone mentions him (either positively or negatively).
I’m glad I did too because I feel like I finally found the person who has all or most of my political views, educates himself, and speaks to other intellectuals about certain subjects.
I went down a right wing rabbit hole during the Trump years and was just coming out of it after realizing how brain washed, hysterical, and conspiratorial the right was (lost friends to it). But the left was also super confusing with insane takes that often left me bewildered.
I found Hasan and Vaush first, and although I felt like they made some interesting points here and there there was always something they said that sounded weird or arrogant/uneducated. With Hasan I began to especially notice his drive to fire up people’s emotions and became rabid (mostly with the Palestine issue). I then learned he didn’t think the Russians would invade Ukraine, that he’s even been pro-Russia. Then he bizarrely stated how North Korea wasn’t bad, how China is good, etc and I began to realize he’s an actual (hypocritical) communist supporter.
Been on a binge of destiny stuff for a couple weeks now and so far no alarm bells have gone off, rather his sensible left position is comforting after all the often insane far-left/right propaganda.
Same here, started off down the 2016 anti-SJW pipeline into the alt-right & early QAnon before moving to the left & going down the far-left pipeline in 2020, thanks to likes of Vaush, Keffals & Xanderhal, until last year when October 7th happened and seeing all the leftists either minimize, ignore or even celebrate the violence committed by Hamas and associated Palestinian militant groups, which then led me to abandon those spaces and engage with content outside of the far-left online bubble. As a result I became more moderate and eventually found Destiny who, while he occasionally acts unhinged, is generally as you put 'sensible' in his positions and views.
Been a destiny UA-cam viewer for a few years now. It has always been refreshing to listen to an honest and down to earth moderate lefty. I own and operate a small business in steel fabrication with 10 employees so I tend to be pretty right. But I agree with your take both extremes are just too extreme in the wrong ways. Been really enjoying destiny’s takes on isreal hama issues.

I feel like we need a different term for “structural racism”. Racism implies an intentionality that I just dont think exists anymore, structural disadvantage seems like a more appropriate word because structures and systems are developed/designed with certain advantages toward some (usually the majority group that is developing the system) and as a consequence, others are left behind or at a disadvantage. For example Jim Crow laws would be systemic racism, but once that aspect was removed, there’s systemic disadvantages for some groups. I think this is the fundamental point a lot of conservatives try to make but they don’t have enough brain cells to rub together to make that argument they just screech and say that systemic racism (structural disadvantage) doesn’t exist.
