Curie is my favorite companion. I love her bubbly optimism as we're wading waist deep in blood and gore. Also,I knew she was the woman for me when I saw her suplex a raider.
Man it's honestly a hard spot for the number one slot between Cait and Curie for me. One who had her innocence robbed from her since birth experiencing the ugly truth of humanity and the other the pure definition of innocence, filled with glee and awe willing to experience anything and everything. Both give their whole world to the lone survivor. Plus they both have alluring accents. I can't pick!
@ValorJ Omega When I read 'SS' my first thought was "what do Germans have to do with this" then my brain started working again. Cait is a pretty shitty person so j guess it still works.
I armored Dr. Collins glasses and gave them to Curie after she got her synth body. It seemed poetic as Dr. Collins wished that he could have been there when Cutie first saw the sky and butterflies.
"I find people always stare at me, Is there something wrong with my backside?" - Curie "Too bad we [sole survivor, Piper, Cait] can't make it a threesome." - Cait "Perhaps we can conduct some nocturnal experiments? Tonight?" - Curie It's good they still slipped in some dirty jokes.
I wouldn't say Codswarth doesn't really care about the 200 years of isolation his constant crying over how much he missed the lone wanderer is evidence enough
@@luisiana1121 I've read that other chapters still exist within the NCR, but if someone like Kellogg or Edward 'Caesar' Sallow can wholly or partially cross the country respectively well within the span of a couple of years, I'd say the Followers stand a pretty good chance of establishing a new chapter in the Midwest, Texas, or even the Commonwealth.
"I find myself....eager for the night." "I would like to conduct more nocturnal experiments with you? tonight." "you know, you move in such a delightfull manner! its very....stimulating~" jesus christ, curie.
"Your fingers are very nimble. Are all humans as skilled as you?" "It is very wet." "Is it customary to charge for this service?" "I'll be in my bunk" (That last one was me).
"No other Mister Handy seems to mind that it's been 200 years" Wym Codsworth literally breaks down into tears within the firsr half hour unless you have disgustingly low charisma.
To be fair it's not so much the amount of time so much as having nobody to care for and being unable to properly maintain the house. Presuming he had been able to keep the house in otherwise pristine condition and some wastelander had moved in that his programming would recognize as a user he would probably not have minded.
true but he doesnt mind hes 200 years older, only that his master was away for so long. he also didnt swing away from his routines, telling how he tryed to keep the plants watered lol. also thats litteraly the only other time at all that any other robot is mentioning the recognition of time passed. only Cods and Curie ever do
Curie also gives some of the sickest burns. Have you heard swapping out X6-88 for her? "I don't think you're ready for this, Curie." "I have survived centuries more than *you*, monsuer." Absolutely my favorite character in game. I love, LOVE X6-88, but there's something about her that makes her even better.
Plus if you "liberated" Mr Cabot, a constant supply of immortality serum...now you're effectively indestructible and will live for many thousands of years.
The fact that synths can breathe and have hormones are physical, biological facts that are easily proven. We're told that there's no physical test that can distinguish synths from humans, so anything physically observable about humans must be present in synths. The stronger evidence, in my view, is that she wanted to "become human" in order to obtain the capacity for creativity and inspiration. **And it works**. She drastically improves the most common and important type of medicine in existence. Anyone can see, by simple, objective observation, that synths have working lungs and beating hearts, and the physical capacity to display emotion and experience the physical signs of emotional reaction, even Elder Maxson knows that, he just thinks it's a trick. What Curie proves is that synths share in some of the most fundamental, unique, and vital aspects of human experience. Curies affinity perk is literally direct physical proof of a metaphysical assertion.
Curie as a Sentry Bot that loves melee combat, stimpacks automatically when your health is low, and lugs a ton of junk is worth more than any perk. "Top priority, Curie, I'll keep looking for someone to help you. In the meantime, let's go back to the Mechanist lair and look for scrap. Might even do a few loops of Nuka World for Legendary items."
Agree. And Danse also describes his feeling, he lived for years among humans and thought he is one of them. Curie mentions that she is hungry and wants to sleep every night. They are definitely not just robots.
This. I watched this directly after the Paladin Danse video, i was planning my first Main Questline playthrough as a BoS playthrough, but Curie has effectively shifted my priority to doing Railroad ending first 😂
I think the tightness in her chest was grief for her creator, Dr Burrow. But she was initially confused by the breathing when she first woke up in her synth body.
i genuinely feel happy when curie shows excitement of something she sees while travelling with her. like in real life people react very annoying at things they dont know about. but the way curie does, is so adorable and cute. i actually feel happy hearing her innocent excitement.
@@kinagrill I've been on the internet too long. I see someone mention cornflakes in a situation that has nothing to do with it or the universe and my head screams "Blood for the Blood God, Milk for the Khorneflakes". I am beyond redemption.
What really cracked me up was when you kill someone and their body falls apart into pieces, she talks about calling a coroner and putting the "evidence" into little baggies as you loot the corpse.
Poynt Fury Piper and Curie are absolutely tied for me. I always give them both a ring the second affinity is maxed. That and her own custom Power Armour. I chose the shark one out of slight irony
Hunter with a medkit stat wise.... he's right. She's easily the most well written character, but she has the weakest stats of any companion in the game. And they get LOWER when she becomes a synth. (For some reason.)
After watching all oxhorn’s companion videos it comes down to this: Cait wants someone who cares about her, Piper wants someone who can help herself and others, Nick wants basically the same as piper, Paliden Danse wants someone who does whatever it takes goal, Deacon wants someone he can truly trust, Preston wants someone who is willing to help any and everyone, Codsworth wants to have the “perfect owner”, Dogmeat just wants a friend, Hancock wants someone who is chill and dangerous, X6-88 is basically the same as Danse, Strong just wants to find this “human milk”, and finally curie just wants THE D
More or less everyone but McCready, Cait and X6 wants you to be the good guy. Helping settlements, being polite, etc. Everyone has tiny differences like Danse hates synths, Strong hates lockpicking, etc but it's basically avoid those 3 if you plan on being Superman. If you want to be a heel, bring X6 and Cait along

Literally, I decided that since the Brotherhood wanted to destroy synths, and since Curie is a Synth, the Brotherhood had to explode. That is how I chose the story ending.
Oxhorn it's ok oxhorn denial is just one of the emotions all of us deal with. Like how Currie could technically be related to us yet we deny that possibility when we romance her
To confirm your theory: Yes. According to her dialogue where she mentions her feelings, then yes. She is alive. PS: If you're a Mass Effect fan, you probably know EDI. After you complete Mass Effect 3 with the Synthesis Ending, EDI (She's an AI) will have true feelings and emotions like Curie. She'll be alive. Short answer: Curie is a person just like us. She is alive.
There's a much-loved episode from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" in which Cpt. Picard must act as Lt. Cmdr. Data's legal advocate in a Starfleet hearing: an officer from the Science Division has convinced his superiors that Data must be subject to physical dismantling & analysis (which could cause irreversible damage) in order to further ongoing efforts in reproducing Dr. Soong's success in constructing advanced androids, even preventing Data from resigning his commission in a bid to protect himself. After a visually devastating presentation in which Data is shown to have inhuman strength, the ability to survive removal of his own limbs & an "Off Switch" Picard begins to lose hope that he can defend his android officer & friend, but in an inspired effort he demonstrates that Data possesses qualities (such as pride in his commendations, affection for an "intimate" relationship w/ Tasha Yar) that would make no sense unless Data were sentient. Finally, Picard leans in & points out that, if Starfleet succeeds in producing a new generation of intelligent, sentient machines such as Data ... it will have given birth to *an entire race of artificial beings*. Picard: Now, I want you to think very carefully before answering this question-- [points at Data] --What is he?? Science Officer: I -- I don't understand--! Picard: What is he -- *a man or a machine*? Science Officer: A machine! Picard: Are you sure?? Science Officer: Yes!! Picard: Then PROVE IT! You've already admitted he's met two of your criteria for sentience -- what if he meets the third, IN EVEN THE SMALLEST DEGREE? What is he then?? I don't know -- DO YOU???

How? The Sole Survivor witnessed their spouse murdered in front of them, and their infant child kidnapped. It would be hard for anyone to open up and love again after that kind of trauma and loss. Maybe they're never ready to move on.
Curie's first statement as soon as we left the abandoned lab was "traveling with you is stimulating" and that was the first time something without a face had made me blush
For me, it was when leaving the lab, I got into my power armor and she said something along the lines of "You look quite dashing in that." I immediately thought, "A woman after my own heart" imagine my excitement when i found out naturally that she could become a synth. I dropped whatever quest i was doing at the time to help her. Ever since, she hasn't left my side
I mean, we managed to build her, I'd say that was something truly amazing we did. (In universe at least, Human achievement in the real world is fairly lacking in comparison to Fallout, but at least we haven't ended the world yet) EDIT: then again, we haven't exactly passed the benchmark of 2077...
@Rydekk 3rd gen Synths like Curie is meat and flesh except the electronic component in the synth's brain. So her vocal chords are not changed. Maybe by sheer coincidence, G5-19's voice is similar to Curie.
@@antares-the-one that's something that's imprinted in the brain. There is no human, or synth, who doesn't know how to move an arm, unless the phsycally can't.
Curie is so adorable, especially with the accent. One time as i was watching Magnolia's performance, Curie, as a robot, pokes her head out from the side like a cat. and as I was searching for supplies and caps in the building where you rescue Rex and Strong, Curie decided to kill the rest of the super mutants. When I went back to her, I found her holding the minigun that belonged to one of the mutants. Curie decided to be a tough gal ever since I equipped her with a greaser jacket.
"I believe the termine is... Yahoo?" Adorable, sexy, funny and cute. Beyond doubt one of the best companions in Fallout 4, hell even in Fallout world as a whole.
he mean's he prefer's gritter characters with a darker past that they dont wanna share til your sleeping together which is okay to each they're own. i for one like characters that can serve as a light at the end of the tunnel like curie because ik if i were in the sole survivor position i'd be hella jaded all the time and having curie around would be a nice balance to that attitude.
To me, THIS is the kind of character development that I love. The Sole Survivor is well and truly alone upon release from their cryo-pod, their spouse gone and child stolen, their home destroyed along with the rest of the world. By the time they’ve met Curie, they’ve learned how to live in The Wasteland, and can now pass this on to her. Over time, they bond and one day realize that both of them are two fish out of water and that forms the basis of their budding love. I always made sure to have the spouses ring with me, but I would gladly give it to Curie, even if I can’t make it official in game.
In my game I gave Curie the job of running her own clinic in Sanctuary Hills, I felt that it was fitting since she is a *inhales* “Contagions Vulnerability Robotic Infirmary Engineer”
For me, she has come a long way, from the hospital in the Sanctuary camp to the laboratory at the Starlight factory (one of the most secured facilities of the commonwealth). After which she headed the laboratory at Headquarters.
There another reason to romance Curie. That reason is the Synth Shaun. All the other partners you might romance will eventually die. Leaving the kid synth all alone. Romancing Curie would provide him a mother figure that would not age. This is if you aren't a Synth yourself and do accept Synths as people. Of course if you don't accept the Synth Shaun as a son this doesn't matter. Then again if you accept Curie as a person why wouldn't you accept Shaun?
Actually the SS can become immortal even if he isn't a synth, if you release Lorenzo Cabot from the prison and kill the other cabot's you gain the "Mysterious Syrum" that stunts aging and basically makes you immune to radiation, aging and what have you, and you have an infinite supply from Mr.Cabot. It's the one area in the game where I just say "fuck morals"
She's absolutely my favorite companion. The concept of AI learning human emotions and struggling to refine them has always been an idea I absolutely love. In my eyes, it instantly made her charming from the moment of meeting her in the vault. And, as for the whole "are synths real people" thing - I firmly believe that the idea of my emotions being the only valid instance because it's generated by meat and blood is nonsensical.
IMO this adds another piece of evidance that synths are "people". Before CURIE (nanny bot) became Curie (synth), she focuses on science research study... After she became a synth new "parameters" enter into play hunger, fatigue, joy, anger something she didnt have to deal with (nor was she programmed to do so) as a synth she (without being told to) show these emotions deals with and LEARNS to live with not UPDATED to simulate. That said thats my opinion
@ValorJ Omega Do we still agree that they are AI? If yes then : only things they can't do are : Reproduce have emotions (they only simulate with what they have in their code) Come with a proper and personal thinking process Create art (even tho I could agree that a _robot_ can paint and therefore make art, it can't create art) Sleep or eat or at least they don't need to What they can do however : Being modified to make toast, which is a fucking cool perk. Synth are just toaster with extra steps. And I wish I could agree with you over the fact that are human. They are sadly not, they are something else entirely and that's why they are great.
@ValorJ Omega Yes but do we still agree that they are AI? They are not humans, and I'll stand by that statement. They are something else. They are not really "living", as long as we can backup their memories, the only way for them to die is by having their "brain" being destroyed past a point where it is not salvageable anymore, and well Curie's "mind" was able to be transferred to a synth body so that only proves my point. But then, what are they? You only tackled only one of my point, which is fine and your counter-argument is good. But, simulating and pretending are not the same thing, a psychopath will pretend that he is normal by using a lot of very human things like lying and mimicking for example, while a synth will only be able to simulate an emotion because it knows how to thanks to its programming. I agree that synth can lie and mimic humans, or else they wouldn't be able to blend with the rest, you said that psychopaths lacks emotions and I say that synths can only simulate emotions, it's not the same thing. For example Curie was overwhelmed with all those new ways of expressing herself and those new emotions she is now able to feel, it's just an upgrade of her personality, she can now access more programs that are used by synths (mainly without knowing it, just like Danse) to blend in with humans. They only simulate being in love. They only simulate being angry, happy and sad for the sole purpose of being incognito in the masses. Synths are Institute properties and tools used to replace people, that's why they can "feel" or else they wouldn't be able to stay in plain sight. So, what are they? For me they are self-learning AI with an exact copy (which I have no idea how the Institute is able to do, but once again the memory den doesn't make sense either) of a human memories _and_ emotions, emotions that they can simulate. Synths are machines. They are not humans, they are not alive. They can simulate a lot of things, and they can even learn, some are more humans than humans (Nick is a shining example.) other are "animals", "humans" with no dignity or honor (such a the one synth who went rogue and became a raider leader on the boat). They are just man made programs, they are just tools or pawns. But then, there is the ones in the Railroad, or the ones that the RR helped (and there is still Nick, greatest thing in FO4), those are the ones the closest from being humans. The ones that either choose to deceive themselves into thinking that they are human (with the memory wipe and all) or they remained and accepted what they are, like Danse, Glory, Nick (well, that poor detective doesn't have a choice) and to a certain extent, Curie. They could be called humans, but they are not. Simply because in the end, as I said, they are something else, they are not even alive to begin with and the fact that they can "die" because of radiation poisoning, is indeed true, electronic components tend to dysfunction when exposed to too much radiation. To end, I'll just say that synths are not human. They are a different kind of "alive." It's like to say that the elves from Skyrim are human, they are not. They are elves, nothing more, nothing less. So yea, synths are machines, fancy machines that can simulate human comportment to a sentient level thanks to some magic level of AI, but machines, nonetheless.
Time to be picky. It's Ms. Nanny, not Mrs. Nanny. But given the fact Curie is adorable and pretty much every Fallout 4 player has romanced her, I guess she will be Mrs. eventually.
Eh... I'd rather not stick my dick into the person that I essentially gave life. Probably not going to hold up solid in court, _but_- hey, it's the apocolypse... right?
honestly curie is proof that synths have emotions, as a miss nanny she did not feel these chemical reactions in the brain, now she is and she is completely blown away by it

Branger VSL valentine is a human inside a robot, curie a robot inside a synth. Neither are good representation on synth behavior and you should not take them as example for all synths.
I was a BoS fan (cuz of those sick power armors and prydwen), immediately accepting Danse's offer to join, and prioritize BoS missions over railroad and minutemen. Start to believe that synths are just like Terminators with programmed mindset. Super mutants and ghouls are scary monsters and must be killed. Then i met Curie. After finishing the game, i downloaded a mod to keep Danse as a companion after destroying Prydwen.

Changing Curie into a synth human is possibly the greatest quest in video game history. If there's a better quest, I've never played it.
While I wouldn’t go that far, but it is indeed a great quest.
Only exceeded by Astarion’s quest in Baldur’s Gate 3, if you convince him not to ascend.
I don't know but the Cait quest is pretty intense also. I swap between Cait and Curie depending on what I am planning on doing.

Codsworth literally breaks down into tears within the firsr half hour unless you have disgustingly low charisma.
not true. He has no tear ducts
Plywood Man Leaking oil is just robot tears.
To be fair it's not so much the amount of time so much as having nobody to care for and being unable to properly maintain the house. Presuming he had been able to keep the house in otherwise pristine condition and some wastelander had moved in that his programming would recognize as a user he would probably not have minded.
actually, there's no way to fail that charisma check
true but he doesnt mind hes 200 years older, only that his master was away for so long. he also didnt swing away from his routines, telling how he tryed to keep the plants watered lol. also thats litteraly the only other time at all that any other robot is mentioning the recognition of time passed. only Cods and Curie ever do

ooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....just...mods?
Idk why but I thought about Shrodinger's cat.
If Curie,a robot, can literally describe a tight feeling in her chest and is fascinated by Breathing, that means Synths really are people.

To me, THIS is the kind of character development that I love. The Sole Survivor is well and truly alone upon release from their cryo-pod, their spouse gone and child stolen, their home destroyed along with the rest of the world. By the time they’ve met Curie, they’ve learned how to live in The Wasteland, and can now pass this on to her. Over time, they bond and one day realize that both of them are two fish out of water and that forms the basis of their budding love.
I always made sure to have the spouses ring with me, but I would gladly give it to Curie, even if I can’t make it official in game.
That’s so sweet! 😢
Curie reminds the Sole Survivor of his old, pre war days. They helped each other to adapt to this new world
I also gave Curie the wedding ring to wear (it hadn't left my inventory since the beginning of the game) It made the moment feel accurate
In my game I gave Curie the job of running her own clinic in Sanctuary Hills, I felt that it was fitting since she is a *inhales* “Contagions Vulnerability Robotic Infirmary Engineer”
My friend put her in a lab coat and did pretty much the same thing

Hunter Pritt he can’t age and he will always have the mind of a child and can’t reproduce...
Curie grew as a person, and kid Shaun doesn’t
Hunter Pritt
Danse won’t age either since he’s a synth too.
Gotta admit, I like to save Lorenzo too - he's just so interesting! We should be able to have him as a follower.
I love giving curie a doctor’s outfit and reading glasses once she becomes a synth
And giving her science scribe armor when traveling?
You obviously have to keep the bowler hat from when she was a Mrs. Nanny
I know it's late, but there is a maid outfit mod and Curie is the main reason I download it.
That said thats my opinion
its strange because synths are supposed to not have to sleep or eat..... which means fuck the logic, lets fuck the ass! :D
@ValorJ Omega
Do we still agree that they are AI?
If yes then : only things they can't do are :
Reproduce
have emotions (they only simulate with what they have in their code)
Come with a proper and personal thinking process
Create art (even tho I could agree that a _robot_ can paint and therefore make art, it can't create art)
Sleep or eat or at least they don't need to
What they can do however :
Being modified to make toast, which is a fucking cool perk.
Well... There goes my genocide run.
@Mocod_ What do you think the difference between accurately simulated emotions and “real” emotions?
Time to be picky. It's Ms. Nanny, not Mrs. Nanny. But given the fact Curie is adorable and pretty much every Fallout 4 player has romanced her, I guess she will be Mrs. eventually.
To be even more picky, she's actually a Mr. Handy to begin with.
MCPunk55 She looks hot with spike armour, a bandanna, and sunglasses, and a army helmet.
Eh... I'd rather not stick my dick into the person that I essentially gave life.
Probably not going to hold up solid in court, _but_- hey, it's the apocolypse... right?
/ Snow I forgot about that. She still looks hot though.
Curie is one of the most pleasant companions to have when wandering the Commonwealth. Her voice is like velvet to my ears.
She is actually the strongest companion too
Besides, she, like us, comes from the old world.
Oh my god Every time she says my love my heart skips a beat.
honestly curie is proof that synths have emotions, as a miss nanny she did not feel these chemical reactions in the brain, now she is and she is completely blown away by it
One of my favorite times of the day is getting home from work, having a beer, and watching your videos. The audio quality, vocal performance and tone of the videos really is relaxing. Thank you. - a daily viewer & patreon supporter.
19:22 I love how curie is looking at amari just like “my god! I’ve never seen such hair” 🤣
She just like "mah god, dat hair on fleek"
No echoes this time...
RED ROCKET COMPANY STORY PLEASE
GamerOnSpeedDial _ haha I saw you on first video too

GamerOnSpeedDial _ Yeah, I'd love to learn more about it!
Agreed
I'd like to hear the story of why
we find Dogmeat at Red Rocket.
Mwuhahahahaha!
I have just had a 9 hour binge watch of all your FO4 videos 😂 you've made me start a new game and finally do the railroad ending! I love how much research and detail you put into your content! Thank you
The Railroad are pretty annoying. I destroy those toaster savers as soon as I can. THE BROTHERHOOD!
Aaron Korthout I agree but it's the only ending I haven't done yet so it needs to be done lol
Egyptian Rickster 9 hours? Must like 9-10 videos so far?
you are all wrong, the best faction is the fucking kill everyone you see except traders, get the shit you want, then kill them faction.
*INSTITUTE!*
Curie’s story in fallout is always going to be my favorite.
No French fetishes involved…
which means you definitely have a backdoor french lady fetish :P
No French fetishes involved.....
Proceed to download French Maid Costume mod....
yet.
Curie talking about quarantine is too relatable rn
"Curie is unique, she is unlike all other companions"
Yeah, by being objectively perf
Omg Curie is so cute definitely my favorite character I’ve seen so far
Its bloody annoying that the most human and emotional thing about this entire game is a freakin' robot.
the gang bosses strike me as very human as they have embraced the new world to the fullest and live true to themselves.
You can be in love with piper too i think
Because the reality of fallout is so horrible that the only thing that can remain human is a machine.
thats how i feel about nick valentine
Have you even done Hancocks quests?
"Using Mutfruit"
*Maccready shudders in the distance*
“I never knew you could do that with mutfruit’
Curie is my favorite! :)
I love her personality with her joy and optimism. ❤️
Michel Flindt Ada is my fav.
Synth i like ada to nie but shes a not got the much mercy
If you haven't met The Railroad yet, Glory won't be the caretaker.
It'll just be another female NPC called "Caretaker".
Thank you! I thought I was going crazy
Same
So if I killed glory I can still do this? Lol haven't been to vault 81 yet...
dude, honestly, i treat every synth as human since i met Nick Valentine
Same!
I’m doing and institute run and even with my BOS run I have a moral obligation to treat synths as human Nick being awesome and Curie being adorable asf helps
@@darnit1944 lol, mods preety much save this piece of garbage of a game
Curie could give me a Miss Handy any day
Took me a second
I hate Humanity sometimes
@@AlphaJPM don’t worry they can’t harm you anymore XD
