📜On PAPER, I’ve used Meeden and Artisto for many years, and you’ll see me use one or the other in most of my tutorials. My Meeden paper suggestion is 100% cotton, has a really great texture and is finer grade. My Artisto paper recommendation is student grade, handles lots of water, (still good for wet on wet) and is a bit less expensive.

Oh my goodness! I got my Mei Ling paints in the mail yesterday. I made the color swatches this morning. I am overawed by how much more rich and saturated the colors are than those Master’s Touch paints I got from hobby lobby! I’ve got the hummingbird drawn out and plan to paint her as a gift for my neighbor. She turns 90 next week and she loves birds, especially hummingbirds!

Gosh this is beautiful! My first stained glass piece was a hummingbird in almost those exact colors. The glass was amazing. Hummingbirds should be showing up here this week so this is a good reminder to put my feeders up.
That must have been amazing, I LOVE glass (I collect lots of it in these colors) They have started coming around here too, and I hear their little chirps, and their bright red bellies catch my eye. I need to put new feeders up as well~ I hoe you will give this a try. I gave you three choices stop with a white background, add a background, pen and ink, and iridescent at the end~ Have fun friend, lets celebrate those little beauties xo
Are you using student grade tubes are Paul reubans artist grade? Curious
The Meiliang are student grade, but I have to say I have experimented with so many paints over the years teaching and these are really fantastic. Ive been using them for a year now, really vibrant, and creamy. Love them and a great price for the beginner or someone like me who cant afford to use Winsor Newton for my daily painting. I hope that helps
