- Im so excited to share this with you, I have mostly used metallics as a glaze layer over my pigments, I also have been mixing the metallics in with my pigments, which creates a beautiful pastel, sparkly hue. I think you will love it!

📜On PAPER, I’ve used Meeden and Artisto for many years, and you’ll see me use one or the other in most of my tutorials. My Meeden paper suggestion is 100% cotton, has a really great texture and is finer grade. My Artisto paper recommendation is student grade, handles lots of water, (still good for wet on wet) and is a bit less expensive.

My pleasure, I loved mixing like this, much better than mixing with a white paint or gouache. (no chalkiness) and it gives this beautiful subtle sparkle that makes the viewer look twice :-)

I must try doing this. As you know I love the MAB metallics as much as you and also my Lisilinkas. The 2 best as far as I’m concerned. I tend to more put them over existing colours or just paint with them straight if I want a really bright look. Thanks as usual for your great ideas.

Ooooh, Debbie, this looks so fun! I have tried every kind of metallic paints. No offense to other metallic paint manufacturers. But do you really think that these are that much better? Thanks, Deb, and much love 😊❤
I have several others, they are all a bit different. MeiLiang has some also which are good as well, I do like the MeiLiang larger palette with iridescence . I felt like these had a little bit more metallic in them My personal preferences, I love having the different little pallets with the different specific series in them, but that’s just kind of my thing. I also like supporting other creators in their endeavors . The holographic set is quite transparent it works beautifully blended with your brighter colors.. I’m not sure I would use it on its own, which you could with the MeiLiang colors, they refer to as iridescence. Some of the other series with MAB you could definitely use on their own how I typically use metallic and iridescence to glaze other colors or mix like in this tutorial.

I was just checking out some metallic watercolours at a shop today and was thinking could I get a smaller palette and mix them with regular watercolours. So that’s definitely an option. Thank you!
