I loved watching the 0 to hero Gerald Williams playlist while preparing for my English Finals of High School, and now as I'm stuck with my pending assignments from college, getting a holiday is fun as I can watch AA after a long time
I'd like to think that Washinbeard's clothes are ripping, not due the stress and wear of the outside world, but because of his muscles tearing them apart from his gains.
The way this guy can make such interesting dialog with this game... it just pulls me in, I can't stop listening to it like I'm reading a survivors journal.
The way he sews metaphors from classic or intellectual literature and thinkers into these hilarious and poetic stories is truly the sign of hard worked-for skill possessing of a talented man.
When watching the longer video, I saw how determined to live he was, avoiding death a shocking number of times. Surviving on worms and rotten food, dodging zeds whem they spotted him, and almost getting eating inside the car, he made it so far after much-earned successes. It was so motivating, I almost walked to work instead of driving that night (I live in east TX).
Years ago while I was depressed I used to watch your 0 to hero videos before going to bed and listen your quotes and poems while starving, freezing to death and running away from hordes, and it was one of the most cozy feeling I've ever had. I hope it happens again Love your work
The most impressive part of this video is how beautifully eloquent your narration is! Splendid and meaningful verbiage gave a real weight to this video, love it!
If you ever feel this challenge needs more negative traits: "The Only Cure" let's you start with a missing arm which slows down everything and makes it so you can't wield anything two-handed. The "More Traits" mod let's you have more addictions as well as starting with injuries such as a broken leg or being totally covered in burns. As well as making your character afraid to use certain weapons.
The rimworld sea ice series is my favorite set of videos on this channel, and the most calming playlist I ever watched. I would love to see more storytelling from AA in longer format like this again. The shorter narratives are excellent. But the pay-off of longer form content or series leads to much greater attachment and depth.
I like this format a lot. The voice over is a lot more digestable than the baroque poetry of previous playthrus. Gerald Williams and Torsquad were beautiful and an accomplishment of writing, but it was easy to have your eyes gloss over eventually. I also really liked the humor interspersed in the Sims and Zoo Tychoon videos.
Gerald Williams life is a reminder to all of us to keep on going despite being against all odds. May Washingbeard Democritus live a long and happy life... And find other crops to sow.
Really loved the video, love the commentary and it was also great to see how you’re doing so well with such a difficult challenge, it’s also really interesting to see how you survive with all the challenges your character faces and how you used foraging, fishing, etc to survive.
"The journey of an overweight, chain smoking, claustrophobic alcoholic-" The intro was such a vicious personal attack that I called the CIA to investigate AA.
Not even gonna lie ambi, I’ve really missed the PZ vids 😭😩 even if you don’t plan on doing long plays anymore, I’m just glad to see crazy pz stories again 😂😂 I really hope 2024 has more in store ❤
By far my favorite content from you is the long-winded ones. Between Kenshi and PZ, there's so much physiological things you do with it, that always make every minute worth listening to,
I feel like your format with the Gerald Williams series was prime entertainment , you transformed the game of project zomboid into the story of Gerald Williams by narrating the events of his life as compared to the gains of your character. And that to me is the most amazing thing about your zomboid series’. I’d love if you can continue the older theme as compared to your fast pace, more objective oriented gameplay . Cheers
They should make a gametype where it's not only a winter hell but it's always dark because an evil moon blocks the sky forever. Change up the dynamics so that finding light is a priority and challenge, and also indoor farming under grow lights.
That’s literally “Don’t starve.” At night, if you don’t have a light source, you take a lot of damage. And there is extremely tough seasons, and many bosses that spawn with any input from the player.
I love how you make an actual script to go with these videos, instead of playing “highlight” reels from your streams. It makes it more entertaining to watch both! Thanks for all the hard work you and your team do to make these videos!
I want to see someone take this idea and make a movie/short film of a dramatized version of this idea. The idea of portraying someone that has all these issues but then something inside them snaps or clicks into place when the zombies come and they just go full efficiency maximization for survival until they craft themselves into a far better state is pretty great. You could do a lot of interesting things to show this progression and the difficulty of it all.
PZ is by far my favorite content on the channel. Miss the long-form videos and unedited VODs that I can leave running in the background while I clean the house but this is a nice format too.
I've loved all your content and fun challenges, but the Zomboid stuff always scratched a special itch, excited to see it back, variety is the spice of life :)

Now I graduated and I’m loosing my mind working and trying to keep up with medschool. Those were good times now that I think about it. At least these videos are still insanely entertaining to watch though
Hey AA, love your videos! FYI in PZ you can use a branch with a notched fire board to start fires and you can use hand trowels to remove rows in the dirt. This lets you use the same area for farming worms instead of digging up large areas if you don’t want to.
I love your story telling, AA. Thank you so much for the hours of entertainment. The kenshi videos with torsolo and the like remain some of my favorite UA-cam content to date
definitely prefer the long form. drawn together, all of your series will create the ulysses of youtube. there will be scholarly articles, podcasts, and coffee shop talk dissecting the relations between characters. it will take 100 years to understand the intricacies of the colliding worlds. college students in 2098 will be looking up spark notes of torsolo and 100 pawn rimworld. professors will stare down from their podiums with disgust as the pupils complain about video length. he will have loathing in his eye but also a fear-a fear of irrelevance. he’ll return to his office and complain to colleagues about the work ethic of this modern generation. he’ll be taken home in a self driving car, walk through his door, dust off an old dell laptop. he’ll fold it open carefully, like an old book. it takes a few minutes to boot up, but as soon as it does he floats the cursor over a file titled “sims 1, 1 tile” and he is elated. he is satiated. he has not forgotten how to feel.
As the man who really got me into Zomboid, it gives me great pleasure to see you undertake a new spiritual journey. Hopefully you can sanctify the home of your ancestor, and cleanse McCoy's for the loot within. Careful though, it's crazy over there, lost a run trying to do the same :D
