Just fitted one of these to my Audi A5,Apart from the screws holes not matching,the screen and the fitting kit are really well put together well worth the money
FYI, I installed the android 10.25 to my audi a5. I took the two USB ports that came with the unit and placed one on the driver's side and the other on the passenger side. I fixed them in place with dubble sided tape and installed led usb mini lights for ambient floor boards. And I still have access to them to plug in anything else ie phone, thumb drive etc... works great.

Hi im in UK and in the process of fitting my original hazard had airbag on off underneath and now hazard on new switch works but headlight symbol on dash? Will this go off once headunit connected
Great video, I just had my S4 installed today and need to set it up. I must say your video is very helpful as there’s lots of info on the installation however next to nothing on getting it functional.

Nathan installed this on my SQ5 earlier this year (2021), fantastic product! I use an onboard sim card, All the things that I like to use work well, screen is HD and fairlt sharp.
How does it work a year later. I am looking into buying an A5 early next year and I am looking into options for CarPlay. Only thing that has me a bit worried is previous experience with Android phones crashing and becoming slow after 5-6 months.
@@DBGMLV, did you have a chance to buy A5 and install CarPlay? Any notes, since I'm trying to select CarPlay for my A5 2013.

Hello Nathan, first of all I want to thank you for the awesome videos! Keep it up man. I own an A5 Cabriolet and was wondering if you have any experience with the screen while driving in Cabrio. Is the quality good enough to see the screen on a really sunny day?

Thanks for the walkthrough! I have a huge issue with the unit not turning off when I shut off the car, and I can’t figure out what it happening. I see that you set it so it turns off when you open the fire, can you let me know what you did? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have a couple of questions. Does the head unit turn it itself when you lock the car like the original? Also can the USB port in the glove box support external hard drives for music etc? Thanks ain advance 👍

Very detailed video! I just purchased an 2010 A5 that has an Android head unit, but the interface looks different, I don’t have a android homepage, it’s either the Audi interface or tablet screen. Looks like it’s running Android 7.0. Can these units software be upgraded? Or do I need a new head unit to get android 10? I can’t connect to CarPlay like this video says either.

Been loving this screen ever since I purchased direct from you. Would love to see a vid on importing an Audi boot logo/updating the system. Also, any way to add Avant cars for the left side of the main menu? Have a b8 s4 Avant but there are only sedans or Q series.

Hi Nathan, Congratulations on your video, they are really helpful. I bought one of these units for my Audi Q5. I have the MMI system. It worked really well first hand but 3 days after the installation, it stopped working. It doesn't even turn on now. What should I do? I'm waiting for your advice. Thanks

Hey Nathan for sound settings did you find that volume (android phone) and bass and treble were optimal? What are your recommended settings for audio for great sound? Mine specifically is multimedia
I left the screen on flat and used the B/O settings on MMI but I have also added two subs

Hey nice video, I have a Q5 and I have fixed this system, it works fine. Only problem is I am not able to take calls from apple car play. What to do?
I have this setup, but on an A5 with an aftermarket reverse camera. I have it connected to reverse video and ‘Camera det’ behind the screen, and I also have it wired into reversing light power to tell the camera to turn on (as my car is manual)
Still however, when I put it into reverse, it doesn’t show me the camera. Sometimes when I turn the car off, it’ll jump to that screen, showing me the camera live feed and also the parking sensors. I assume it’s something on canbus, as it should be recognising the signal coming in from ‘camera set’ and automatically switching to it. I’ve checked and when in reverse, power is going through the cable.
Hello @The Fitting Bay I bought a screen for my audi a5 from 2013, when I go to the original menu of the car it does not look good in any of the options offered in the factory menu, maybe I would have to return to the factory values and update as you comment in your video, if so how could I download the update file?
Hi great video I'm having trouble with the phone calls not coming through the speakers. My phone connects perfectly for android auto and everything works great but I can't hear the caller through the speakers and they can't hear me, you can hear a click from the head unit as of its trying but nothing, any ideas its installed on my sq5.
Does it still show the whole drive mode settings of dynamic, comfort, or individual?

My 2015 Audi Q5 has a Concert System with AMI. I purchased the Kufine System. 1. The climate control plug on my car is different. 2. My car has an airbag light on now. 3. The system doesn't show the Audi stuff at all.

to get the reverse camera working. I have an Audi A4 B8 with Audi Concert. Everything is working perfectly but the rear camera isnt. We tested to see if its receiving power and it is but no video signal.

Go to zlink without a phone connected and check the settings.
Can you open Google Maps when pressing the "NAV" button on the mmi controller? Same for phone?
Hello. I have 2016 audi a6 c7. Came with the 3g/4g with audi connect. I recently bought a 12.3 inch android screen replacement. It has wifi/4g. My question is, should I continue using audi connect or android wifi /4g thanks.
I purchased this unit and had it installed at The Fitting Bay and the issue I am having is when using my mobile through it,a person rings I have to turn the volume up to almost max to hear and then I need to scream back so as they can hear me.

Hey I have the audi concert without mmi. Can I still use maps on this screen without a GPS antenna? I was thinking I could tether the GPS from the hot-spot on my phone? Thanks in advance and great video 👍
Yep you are correct but GPS helps with time and location data.

I have checked my settings along with our video. MMI 3G. Wheel works, but the screen does not turn off and on with the car door/key in/out. And, Backup camera is not engaging on the screen automatically. i Have to tap "Car Info" to be able to see the backup camera even though OEM Camera is chosen in settings.
Any help on that?
Hello, just installed it on my Audi A4 B8 2012 concert. everything works well but the screen for original MMI are not splitting. So like you said it's stretch and it look like crap. I don't know how to configure this. Do you have an idea ? thanks for your reply.

Just got this installed but it seems like my Huawei P30 is not working via wireless, it will only connect to Android Auto/my phone when I manually connect my phone to the car via USB. Is it not working because of the phone, should I change my phone to Apple, have you found better wireless connection/capability with Apple over Android phones ? If it is not the phone, any idea what else it may be ? Works perfectly fine when it is wired. I have a 2014 Audi Q5 Sline with MMI.

I’ve been having soo much fun w this thing on my Avant! Only thing is the sound quality has diminished quite a bit, not sure what I can do. Radio still sounds alright. Whenever I unplug the ami module completely, the sound quality is really good but then cuts out after 20 seconds. Do you know what I can do? I have concert
Figured it out! Connected a grounded auxiliary to the setup and it was fixed
@@derrickkorraa5996 Do you mind sharing which one you used? We're having a similar problem with our concert. Also, did you connect the auxiliary to the ami modules side or the unit side?
Is it possible to retrofit the mmi controls in centre console if you fit this to a car with the basic stereo ?

Hey Nathan, Thanks for the video! I have MMI and installed this device, however my sound isn't coming through. I have selected AUX on the original OEM screen but it isn't working with Z-Link, any ideas on what I can do to make it work? Cheers!

@matthewstrike8223 Hi, I did get a fix. In the new system you have go into the factory settings and select something that makes the audio never switch, and choose AUX output on the original audi system. I'll dig out the instructions for you if this doesn't help

Hey I got a question you said that the control wheel only works on the Multimedia equipped cars, my 2012 S4 has Audi Symphony equipped. How would I be able to control the OEM menu then? In the video as soon as you touched the screen while in the OEM menu it went right into the android menu. I'm interested in buying one 100% however if I cant control the OEM menu with my control wheel then its not worth the investment for me.
So the screen for android is touch, but when you select car and see your original screen info you just use that dial like normal. The dial however will not work in Android mode.

Hi Nathan, we just installed Android 13 on q5 that comes with a pre-installed UA-cam app. As soon as the brake handle is released, the video stops playing. Is there any chance to allow video to continue to play while driving, thnx
Thanks for the video, but i've got a problem. Everything is working but i get only radio sound. No sound is coming from the screen also cant call because i dont hear something. Radio sound is working. Also the volume buttom is nog reacting

Hi Nathan, installed on my SQ5 about August 2022. Been working fine until last month, When I now receive a phone call it cuts out the music permanently. I than need to turn off the engine wait about ten 10 minutes and it reconnects after a further ten minutes of trying. Very annoying can you please help. Not sure if it's the unit or settings. I had it installed by the person you recommended based in Sydney. It happens with every call.

@@TheFittingBay Thanks for the follow-up. I've considered going off the shelf unit like Alpine/Kenwood/Pioneer, but integration (OEM back up cam, park distance sensors), and UI looks too aftermarket.
I recently bought the same one and everything worked perfect after a two months or so the screen won’t turn on anymore. The audio still works while the screen isn’t on but i unplug the unit behind the screen and it works but after i turn off the turn car it doesn’t work again.
