Couldn't disagree more with your assessment. I have an A5 and it's a fantastic car. Anyone that reads my comment, please buy one if it's in your budget.
I’m looking into buying one of these in the next couple months. People always talk about reliability. I was wondering if you could share how much per year you spent on maintenance
@@Jordon__ Mine is under warranty for the next couple of years, however, Audi has cast iron reliability and I'm not really aware of many issues with the A5. If you are looking at a car outwith warranty, there are many independent Audi specialists who will keep any repairs reasonable. Good luck.

I agree, Nick. I have an A4 and have gotten the A5 as a loaner… both cars are a joy to drive. Given the number of A4/ A5 reviews available on UA-cam, one would have thought Abraham could have watched a few to study up. His content was weak, fairly and thoughtless.
lmao this is the worst car video i have ever watched. Every point he made didnt make any sense "if you want the car you are gonna have to pay some money. This is very bad"
I bought a brand new 2019 A5 Sportback and now have over 42,000 miles on it. I cannot recommend one of these vehicles enough. It gets VERY good gas mileage and turns heads, while providing an absolutely amazing German driving experience. If it's within your budget.....buy it and enjoy!!! You will NOT regret :)
I also have a 2019 A5 Sportback. Literally the best car I've ever driven or owned. It does turn heads from those who know a nice car when they see one.
I do agree with what he said about it using premium it’s important to know that as usually it will be more expressive then a regular honda using cheap gas but granted if you can buy it you can probably afford an extra 10 on your gas 🤣
All of what you mentioned in my opinion is that you bought a car that out of your league, this car is a diamond and the most reliable car i have ever used has a soul and a presence.
if you/anyone have problem/concern with A5 being low to the ground, premium gas and high price and etc., then go and buy a cheap honda. A5 is for car lovers and not for those who are looking to save on gas and pay peanut for a car!!!
I mean, why consider an A5 if low to the found is an issue? If you want something that's easy to get in and out of, plenty of CUV to choose from. Also, having sat in an R8, A5 isn't nearly as low as the R8. It's like choosing a 2 seater sports car and then complain about it not being a good car to fit the whole family.
Literally all of these things can be assessed before purchase. Honestly if you bought the car and thought these things were issues at all, why did you purchase in the first place? The A/S/RS5 model Audi's are among the best and most sought-after models in the brand amongst average consumers. Personally it's my favorite of the affordable Audi lines.
🤷🏼♂️ I’ve owned an Audi A5 Coupe S-line Black Edition 2.0 TDI 2011 for 9 years… and I bloody love it!! It’s very comfortable on long drives (I was doing 20,000+ miles per year… I’ve driven more than 115,000 miles in total), it’s relatively fuel efficient (for this type of sporty looking executive car) getting average 35mpg. I’ve spent approx £11k on 75k miles (approx £0.15 per mile). It LOOKS effing cool! The frameless door windows, the curves, the slopes roof, the flick on the boot lid, the low profile, the diamond cut 5-arm Black Ed wheels. It’s a sexy car! It’s not that low to get in/out and very comfortable inside for all passengers. I often have a car seat for a baby/toddler in the front passenger seat, which I was amazed by but fits easily and work great. It’s hella fun to drive and has some punch when you put your foot down. It’s 30-60 acceleration is great, even in the diesel! So yea, there are a lot of positives about this car! Problems (yes, of course there are, but they’re not that bad) Big doors on the Coupe which can be tricky in tight parking spots. Minimal leg room and head room in the back (of the 2-door coupe), but I personally rarely had people in the back. Can be expensive to buy. Mine was approx £20k, in 2013, 2 years old and high spec. Can have expensive parts, but having taken the mileage from 20k to 120k I can say that all the parts and repairs I’ve done over the year were in line with expectations and any other vehicle of this type/age. So… there’s my long time user review!!
I just bought my first audi a5 2012 coupe and I feel the exact same way. I fall in love with this car every time I see it. Glad to hear you've enjoyed it for the past 9 years. :)
couldn’t agree more brother, i’ve owned a 2018 audi a5 coupe for a little over a year and to this day i have not gone through any problems what so ever, the mpg is very good, drives amazing, turns heads. although my warranty does expire at the end of this year and i am not sure if i should renew it. Prices for warranty renewals have gone up too so i don’t know what to do.
I’m an owner of a 2016 Audi A5 and I’m 6’4. This car is so much fun to drive. The way it handles and picks up speed is like no other. The engineering behind Audis are great. The s line suspension which makes the car lower to the ground is not really a issue to not buy this vehicle. If you are worried about it being too low then buy the base A5. I’ve driven my Audi 92k miles and no problems besides regular maintenance and upkeep. Definitely recommend this car if you want to get behind the wheel and feel a thrill. Audis are driving machines and meant to be driven. So yes it can be a daily driver. As for gas it has a huge gas tank which does affect cost but it’s very efficient, depending on how you drive.I’d recommend Audi A5 10 times out of 10.
Another great aspect of the A5 is has plenty of leg room for tall people. For a car that has a compact design/feel to it is impressive. Room in the backseat takes a hit for the sedan but I don’t care. I don’t have children to haul around everywhere so it’s a non issue. A5 is not a family sedan it’s labeled “sportback” for a reason. If someone needs more space in the backseat then just simply go up the number line with Audi.
Firstly, this is in fact a very inaccurate and poor assessment of the vehicle. Secondly, no reviewer worth their salt would ever say "you shouldn't purchase this" because they understand that customers have varying biases, needs, and wants in a product. The idea is to elaborate on the attributes of the car and remind the viewer the pros/cons and what might appeal to a certain type of consumer. You should also correct your review where you talk about it requiring 91 octane. Just because it's a "4 cylinder engine" doesn't mean it should run on regular. The reason why it needs 91 is because it's running boost. High compression turbo engines cannot run effectively on low octane. The ECU will need to compensate, you'll get pre-detonation, knocking, etc. Anything running boost, no matter how many cylinders, requires higher octane fuel.
As an owner of an '18 with 40K miles since I'll agree it's low to ground and a bit awkward for a big guy to get in and out of, but other than that it has been fantastic. Not a hint of a single mechanical issue yet. Fast AF. Not a family car, but go buy a minivan or SUV if that's what you're looking for. Just a great, great automotive machine.
i own a ‘14 a5, 2 door coupe. I’m 6’3 myself and I find the car spectacular. All of the issues you discussed in the video are not hidden problems, they are just not your preference. I love the fact it’s low to the ground, i love the fact that it’s tilted in the back, because it makes it look sharp on the outside. I’m switching to a newer 4 series BMW, but the time I spent with this car was truly memorable
I have an Audi 2021 A5 Sportback Premium Plus S-line package with the Nigt package and warm weather option which has Ventilated Seats. So yes it is an option. And yes I wanted a sporty coupe type sedan and I drive it everyday and love it. So all your dislikes sound personal and not everyone will agree so should you really be telling people not to purchase. Oh yeah I'm a first and last time viewer, bye bye.
I love my A5, the issues you mentioned are true. However, the A5 is not a family car. It’s a sports luxury sedan/coupe. It drives amazingly and the handling is so nimble.
One thing with Audis is you must put the recommended grade fuel for it to run properly. That might go for many other makes, but especially for Audi. Please care for it and it will care for you. At the end of the day, they are very tough luxury cars.
This review consists of your own personal issues with the car and none are a reason not to buy an A5 Sportback. You should ask people to consider these "issues" prior to buying one rather than labeling them as reasons not to buy one. Just a bit of feedback for your reviews to prevent less negative comments 😀
I’ve owned a 2018 A5 Sportback and it’s a really good daily driver for the money! I’d drive 60 miles a day and it was perfect but my butt would hurt as it’s still a “sporty car” at the root of it. Seating wise, you can raise it quite a bit up if it’s too low to get in/out. Gas isn’t expensive. I averaged 32mpg, I sold mine at 66k miles and it was solid the whole time I had it. Backseat room could be better, but if you’re under 5’10 you’ll be fine. Also a big thing to realize is that if you do buy a used car, you won’t get every bell and whistle that you’d want so you may have to make sacrifices. I have cooled seats on my current car and it’s honestly nothing crazy so I don’t think you’re missing out personally. Overall, beautiful car and for $30k used, the A5 Sportback is one of the best deals you could get in the luxury car section
I picked up a 2018 sline a5 for 35k with 37k miles. Luckily it has all the options I wanted. Great daily driver indeed. Especially when others underestimate its power off the line 🤣🤣🤣
so, a cons to a sporty premium branded car are: it's expensive, cannot run on junk US fuel (I guess in Europe we only have the premium fuel then), and is too sporty (too low to the ground and low roof at the back). Only real problem is the lack of cooled seats, which is in fact a bit infuriating, but man, the rest is just weird.
This is a joke! I have same model from 2018 2.0 tdi 190cp, 180k km, never had a problem with it and i put the cheapest diesel ! This a beautiful car and it worth every penny spend on it
I have a boosted a5 and the maintenance is pretty reasonable and if you ever want to upgrade the car is really not that expensive. It’s a very reliable and fun car to own, and to be honest it’s not that terrible on gas, even with a upgraded turbo and all that you still average about 21-30 miles a gallon.
I’ve had two Audi A5s. Both 2015 plates one being the 2.0L and the 3.0L Quattro. I’ll say this they were both amazing cars. The 3.0L is amazing sounds awesome and has so much more power than you’d expect :O
Sorry but this has to be the worst review of a car I’ve ever watched! Honestly I’d do yourself a favour and delete this video 🤦🏻♂️ Reasons not to buy an A5….it’s from a premium brand, has a sporty engine that requires higher grade fuel and has a sporty chassis……These are the reasons I’d buy it!! I’m expecting your next car review to be on your new Mitsubishi Mirage, cheap to buy, cheap to run and plenty of ground clearance….the perfect car for your needs by the sound of it.
As far as mechanical info goes, buy one. I had an S5 Coupe for 7.5 years from new and loved it. I always got a 3ltr V6 A5 as a courtesy car when mine was getting serviced and loved that too. No common mechanical issues in any of the A5 range.
I rented one from Enterprise a few times and because I’m 6’2” I was bumped how low it is to the ground. But once you’re sitting and driving it’s pretty nice. I also noticed my head is more closer to the door window for some reason and the roof line is lower compared to my ‘18 A4.
Just took delivery of 2023 A5 Sportback. All I have to say is WOW........What a nice looking car, fit, finish, simple and elegant all at the same time!
It's unfortunate that you didn't notice that the A5 has a warm weather package available on it for purchase. You could have gotten the ventilated seats through that option. It took me awhile to locate one with that package, and the cold weather package, but it was definitely worth the effort.
My Audi A5 sportback 2 litre turbo quatro is coming up 10 years old. Has cost me $500 to fix an emissions unit during this time. Still looks new both inside and out has been serviced regularly. An amazing car.
Hi Abraham The reason why you have to put "premium" fuel in the A5 : In europe normal Gas got 95 octane Premium Gas in europe is between 98 and 100 octane I heard in the U.S ""regular " Gas only get 87-88 octane so the engine was built for the european market, we also put this "E10" Bio Fuel in and its no problem
I am still waiting for you state the "problems" with the car. Those "issues"(features actually) are as advertised. One choose to buy the swoopy A5 instead of the A4 (or A6), one pays the premium on price and less headroom, low ride height etc. My next car is the A5 with 2 doors and I know what I am getting into. 😉 I will stick anyone I don't care for in the back. It's all about me.
Love how the comment section is better at reviewing cars than the reviewer himself. Audi in general is a well built car, you really can‘t go wrong with it… Just make sure to check how the previous owner maintained the car and if it had any issues, if your buying used
Yes I own one and as Nick says below me I couldn't disagree more with your assessment of this car. My Audi is the 4 door sportsback or hatch as some call it. Its not a coupe, thats the 2 door version. My Audi is also the 3.0 litre diesel turbo version, it may be a diesel but I can assure you its not slow. Abrahams comment on fuel is completely irrelevant if you're in the market for a European car as they all run on premium fuels, petrol or diesel. And the economy on my Audi is better than any hybrid on the market. Seats, Abraham mentioned 4 seats in the rear - I think only a Hummer would have that luxury. The side seats next to the doors have plenty of room for my 6 foot frame and my head doesn't touch the roof even though it has a sloping roof. The centre seat is a bit tight for longer trips but I spent 3 hours in the right rear seat of my Audi on a long trip recently and it was perfectly comfortable. Lease payments, well if its not in your budget its not in your budget. You can either buy an older model or buy a Hyundai. Yes it is low but thats why its called a sportsback not a station wagon. And the boot/trunk is huge BTW. So if you're in the market for a European car I can highly recommend this Audi A5.
I have an Audi A5 cabriolet 2013. I bought it brand new & to this day I haven’t had any problems. None. It still looks like new aside from a few scratches.
I got a Audi A5 TDI. I had it for 8 years. I must say I'm totally satisfied with it. If you want a sporty gorgeous car you should get one. Of course you must have money to own a car like this. Also if you got problems getting in and out of it, perhaps you should check your own health/weight.
Too late, already bought one. First-gen 3.2 manual, cause the 1.8T an 2.0T are infamous for bad piston rings and oil consumption. And manual cause real men drive stick. Yes, some parts can be expensive, but you’re driving a premium brand at the end of the day. Regular maintenance will avoid a lot of issues though. Premium gas is a choice, it will run on regular but mileage is much more efficient with premium. So at the end of the day you’re not overpaying as much as you’d expect. Yes, room in the back sucks, but like you said it’s a coupé. If you need room in the back get an A4 or A6, easy.
Mate don't listen to this guy. A5 is perfect, I even have a 3y old girl and even she is fine with it! Enjoy life, and drive your A5 with joy. If you are not happy with it sell it. But don't let other ppl to tell you how to feel about your car!
Just bought one !Cool seats ,extended legs for comfort ,I’m 64 and LOVE it! My man is a big guy raise the seat and he gets out of it. When we can’t get out of it we’ll get a Q5 but until then it’s our sports car. The seats are sooo comfortable and the back seats are too they are tilted back for comfort. Plenty of room. Better than a Range Rover and Land Rover! Goes like hell too! I’m in love!
I couldn't agree with this review. I have owned a 2017 A5 Sportback S line for 2 years now and it is without doubt, it is the best car I've ever owned.
I agree with the low profile. I had A5 and I live in nordics, large piles of snow and ice would get me stuck multiple times and also tore off some of the plastic covers.
I have an Audi A5 2013 1.8 Turbo Sportback with 92,000km It's a used car with 1 previous owner that took exceptionally good care of it. It had 70,000km on it when I bought it. Haven't had a single mechanical issue with it apart from ordinary wear and tear (replaced a couple of sensors, replaced a headlamp). It's an incredible car to drive, and corners like it's on rails. I previously owned a BMW 330i (also very fun to drive, and very quick) and I have to say that the AUDI far surpasses the BMW for quality of ride, and overall performance too. I'm 5" 11' and there's plenty of room in the front and the back, so I really don't understand what this reviewer is on about in regards to his perspectives on the space in the cabin - reckon he must have put the front seat back as far as it will go in order to purposely make it appear cramped in the back 🤣. Furthermore, the boot (that's what we call the 'trunk' in Australia) is huge, and if you put the seats down you can transport some impressively large items. The only minor issue that I have with the car is that the audio system doesn't have Bluetooth....but that was easily fixed with a $10 device that plugs into the cigarette lighter and makes music and hands-free Bluetooth calls easy. It's a gorgeous car, and awesome to drive 👍🏻
youre talking about a totally different car btw this is a 2018 and up and this is a sportback. they did not exist in 2013 which is a different generation
@@AbA-bi5dz you cannot generalize that when it comes to cars… that’s like me calling you a child modestor and treating you like one coz your uncle did it
@@pramey Have fun dissecting then! Hope it make you feel like you know something, when we all know (including my uncle) that you know nothing. Those empty sounds that you hear kinda like an electric car
I bought an Audi A4 from an Audi dealership in 2023, and for the first 6 months, it ran perfectly. However, problems started showing up once it hit 30K miles. I noticed the oil level dropping by about a quarter every 200 miles. I sent it back to the dealership, and they claimed to have fixed it, but the issue persisted. They spent over $10K on repairs while I only paid the deductible. Then, after another 8K miles, I started experiencing MAF sensor issues and other problems. The dealership charged another $10K for repairs, and again, I just paid the deductible. Now, it’s back at the dealership for suspension issues. At this point, they’ve spent more on repairs than the car’s actual value. 😢
I own an 2018 A5 and is very good, not a single problem so far with 42k miles in it, is very reliable, for starters, when you buy any car, make sure you can afford maintenance or a part replacement if something happens and you will be good, but is the same for all brands and models. Make sure you can afford fixing it. IF YOU LIKE THE A5 BUY IT!! YOU WILL LOVE IT!
Like Nick (below) Couldn't disagree more, I have had mine for coming up 5 years now, its a 3.0 TDI V6 with 62,000 on the clock, and averages 49 mpg and 0-60 in about 5 sec. I am on my own so don't care about the limited space in the rear, it has variable dampers, so its comfortable, and handles well,. Apart from a problem with the emissions add blu system, it has been trouble free. I am 84 and a bit overweight, but can get in and out without to much hassle, I use the seat memory 1 sets up the driving position, an i have set 2 to slide the seat back and recline the back which helps when door opening is restricted. like it much better than the 430 tdi BMW I sold to buy this. so might not suit some but sweeping generalisations are pants
I would’ve loved to come across this video when the dislike counter was still a thing, so I wouldn’t have wasted my time today. Basically this guy’s telling us to not buy an A5 because he couldn’t do research before buying the car: 1. complains about the engine requiring premium gas (d’oh!) - it has nothing to do with Audi in general 2. Not comfortable in the backseats: this is why people actually give the car a test drive before buying it 3. Complains about the car being expensive overall: tell us something we didn’t already know about premium cars in general. Anyway, I was hoping to see a video where the owner talks about: issues they encountered with the car, how much it costed, their experience with the service, how it drives etc. It makes me even more mad to know I took the time to write this comment, being well aware I’m only adding engagement to the video. Dude!
You got a s line package and said it’s too sporty and low… whaaa? These aren’t real reasons lol - I can only say the outside looks dated other than that there’s no issues haha
I have a 2018 a5 sportback tfsi quattro and I bought a new one just in these days. One of the best car I've ever driven. I have two Childs and we can travel comfortable all around with any issue. Sporty but comfortable, the best of the best
I have an 2018 A4 and had a loaner 2022 A5 when my wife’s Q5 was in for maintenance. I love the look of the Q5 and the trunk. Thought I wanted one before having both the A4 & A5 side by side. The A4 is so much more comfortable to get in an out. The seats aren’t much lower, but the entire roofline is at least 4” lower and slanted more front and back. Looks good, but it’s a pain to get in an out daily. (5’10” 210 lbs) Glad I didn’t upgrade my A4. My A4 feels like it has more torque as well… can’t explain why. The suspension is also sportier. Maybe the A5 has the newer adaptive struts/shocks that gives it a softer feel. They are both nice, but now that I’m in my 40s, I’ll stick with a sedan for my daily and my 2 door spider for the weekend. Both are awesome cars. My wife also has. 2019 Q5 prestige…. I do like an Audi!
The reason for premium fuel is because it's a high compression engine. Premium fuel is more resistant to knocking. Don't think it has anything to do with the number of cylinders.
I purchased a 2015 Audi A5 premium plus S-line with 32k miles from my dealership I work at; they got it from auction- my purchase date was 4 months ago. I got it for $23k. It is the BEST vehicle I have ever had out of 5 vehicles. I’m 5’10, 160lbs- the car is a tiny bit awkward to get in and out of, but all around, the acceleration is nice, I don’t mind paying for premium gas. Doing an oil change is a little expensive, but I’m lucky to work for a Chevy dealership that accommodates me. I freaking LOVE this car and will drive it till the wheels fall off. Don’t knock it because you didn’t do a proper assessment of your vehicle before purchase.
Any tips on buying A5 2017 2.0tdi? Saw some informations about 140hp not being so reliable, what about 177hp and 190hp? Any particular engine numbers to avoid?
you are 6.1 lol average people are between 5.4 to 5.11 been back there is pretty roomie, but if you are getting an sport car you are not expecting people in the back
I purchased a 2019 A5 Sportback Nov 2022. I love the car. To me, the issues mentioned are pretty minor. My only minor complaint is the lack of storage space and there isn't a slot to place the cell phone. I had a 2015 A4 previously (best car I have owned - no mechanical issues) and it had a nice slot on the center console where I could place my phone. Again, minor issue. Other than that I LOVE this car so far, but I'm not surprised. My 3rd Audi, and have not been disappointed yet. They are in my opinion the most beautiful standard production luxury autos - never get tired of looking at/driving them.
I own a 2022 Audi A5 40 TFSI quattro mhev premium plus, i have Ventilated seats with leather seats full MMI infotainment, with virtul cockpit and google earth, and all sensors (cruise assist, breaking collision management, traffic jam driving, cruise control ect) led matrix lights (front and rear), sun roof. I’m just missing some of the prestige options. My cost out the door was 62k with audi extended warranty (5k $). I can say it was the best purchase i have ever made… no bs i am averaging 43 mpg when driving on highways at 75mph with a full tank i can get 630miles, if its combined mix driving i get 35/37 with 500 / 530 and driving crazy with some fun never under 400 miles, the tank is 15.2 or 15.6gal. Service averages between 350 to 500$ it can get pricey. I have 28k miles on the car having the vehicle since July 2022. And after 3 oil changes i have to say i am very satisfied, with everything. Be4 that i have a 2022 jeep GrandCheeroke L summit drove it 6 months and I hated that car turned it in and worked a great deal loosing only 3k on the Jeep paid cash not on loan(i was upside with loan). I fully suggest if you want one you should do it. Also keep in mind the 40TFSI is not super fast max speed is 133 mph /215kph if you are ok with that your will love it. But if you want a little more I suggest you get the 45TFSI (but is it worth it in the US) I’m in Germany now and now i wish a bit more speed on the Autobahn sometimes.
2019 A5 Premium Plus 85000 miles---35 mpg, incredibly quick, sportback tons of room--zero issues. If its too low for you, lose weight and exercise. Never noticed.
ALLLLLL OF YOU OWNERS with praise, I can’t thank you enough as I have only been a Mercedes, Mini and BMW owner. I was watching this video and needed a different angle. I also don’t lease or finance cars as of lately since I cannot work so I pay cash which is concerning as it’s full commitment. Lol lol thank you again for taking the time to write your comment and account section. I really appreciate it and thank you so so so much.
Cut the crap ! Gasoline engines must have compression ratio 13.0+ and only then u need premium gasoline use... And this Audi's model it doesnt. So, Do ur research guys do not hear any idiot's advice in here pretending that they know what they are talking about !
This guy is beyond clueless...The things he mentions applies to all vehicles in this category. Almost all German luxury cars use premium fuel. All of these sedans/sport backs are low to the ground. Ventilated seats are available. I'm not even sure what kind of car this guy needs as his reasoning is so ridiculous.
Just bought an A5 sportback! Everything you said was true however they aren't issues for me. The suspension on this car is incredible, it's so fast, and its affordable. Sure it takes premium gas, who buys a luxury vehicle and expect to pay for regular gas? I believe this video just made me more of a fan 😂
Just bought a used 2018 A5, I owned a 2015 A3 for a few years and traded it in. Audi has treated me quite well over the years. Everything he mentions, I already knew.
With full of respect But just becouse you bought a crap that previous owner didnt give a damn about the car to maintain it properly And its falling apart while in your ownership That doesn't mean the car or model is bad Plus i don't know what kind of audi u have in US or somewhere there But here in europe audi runs on all sort of diesel or petrol if its petrol And no issues
Couldn't disagree more with your assessment. I have an A5 and it's a fantastic car. Anyone that reads my comment, please buy one if it's in your budget.

Just add octane!!!
Exactly!!! 😂
All of what you mentioned in my opinion is that you bought a car that out of your league, this car is a diamond and the most reliable car i have ever used has a soul and a presence.
And is a gas saver as well !
if you/anyone have problem/concern with A5 being low to the ground, premium gas and high price and etc., then go and buy a cheap honda.
I have a 40 TFSI A5 and it doesn’t spec premium. It uses regular 87 octane.
Or buy an A5 35TDI…
How much should you have to consider buying one and will it depreciate?
Problems (yes, of course there are, but they’re not that bad)
Big doors on the Coupe which can be tricky in tight parking spots.
How to get some useful information on this video in two easy steps: 1. Pause the video. 2. Read the comments. Especially this dude’s.
Cheers, mate!
couldn’t agree more brother, i’ve owned a 2018 audi a5 coupe for a little over a year and to this day i have not gone through any problems what so ever, the mpg is very good, drives amazing, turns heads. although my warranty does expire at the end of this year and i am not sure if i should renew it. Prices for warranty renewals have gone up too so i don’t know what to do.
Could not say it better myself. 2016 A5 s-line black Technik and from the day i bought it, im still loving this car.
Plz more information about maintenance cost, for example , replacement parts price.
Wait till it hits 110k or so on mileage and the turbo goes out... its about 6K
Is it spacious enough for the passengers in the back if you’re gonna drive for a long time for example?
Plz more information about maintenance cost.
Hi is this good for a family car?
This guy has no clue what he’s saying at all
I agree.. well put sir! No useful info provided, only his personal opinion.
How much should you have to consider buying one and will it depreciate?
As an owner of an '18 with 40K miles since I'll agree it's low to ground and a bit awkward for a big guy to get in and out of, but other than that it has been fantastic. Not a hint of a single mechanical issue yet. Fast AF.
Not a family car, but go buy a minivan or SUV if that's what you're looking for. Just a great, great automotive machine.
well, complaining that a sportscar is hard to get in and out is a bit weird, innit?
any issues yet so far? looking to get one.
@@11grovestreet35 Zero. Enjoy!
those are not convincing reasons at all not to buy a car
I don't even consider them "reasons" - that's how wrong they are
i own a ‘14 a5, 2 door coupe.
For real. My 2011 A5 prestige 2.0 is running top notch.
@@djdreamproductions nice, how many km/miles?
@@make.d.bounty 100k miles
I have the same as you, great car..Great car.
I love my A5, the issues you mentioned are true. However, the A5 is not a family car. It’s a sports luxury sedan/coupe. It drives amazingly and the handling is so nimble.
almost regretted buying the car from the title but your reasons made me feel like this was a safe purchase 😂
Same😂
Dont waste your time watching like i did!
Right, the comments are better than the video 😂
One thing with Audis is you must put the recommended grade fuel for it to run properly. That might go for many other makes, but especially for Audi. Please care for it and it will care for you. At the end of the day, they are very tough luxury cars.
I have an A5. My 6th Audi. A5 the best of them all. Stunning vehicle.
3 years with owning Audi no problem 👍
Viewed one yesterday and I couldn't be more impressed with the quality and size. The drive was just perfect
This review consists of your own personal issues with the car and none are a reason not to buy an A5 Sportback. You should ask people to consider these "issues" prior to buying one rather than labeling them as reasons not to buy one. Just a bit of feedback for your reviews to prevent less negative comments 😀
The 40 TFSI line takes 87 octane, the 45 TFSI take premium 91 or better. The 40 TFSI is the best bang for the buck.
I have the 45 for much more power.
100% agree
I picked up a 2018 sline a5 for 35k with 37k miles. Luckily it has all the options I wanted. Great daily driver indeed. Especially when others underestimate its power off the line 🤣🤣🤣
I have the S5 love that it’s low to the ground, love the sound, and love the seats!
so, a cons to a sporty premium branded car are: it's expensive, cannot run on junk US fuel (I guess in Europe we only have the premium fuel then), and is too sporty (too low to the ground and low roof at the back).
Only real problem is the lack of cooled seats, which is in fact a bit infuriating, but man, the rest is just weird.
Buys an expensive car. Complains about how expensive it is. You lost me after that. It’s a sports car it’s supposed to be low.
I know right😂
Are you serious? Not to buy the car because you have to get premium fuel? All the reasons you mentioned weren't enough not to buy A5 … 👎
This is a joke!
Yeah the fuel consumptions not even a problem. If I had to pick something I say the 15 gallon tank. But 15 not even bad 🤷♂️.
Honestly I’d do yourself a favour and delete this video 🤦🏻♂️
Reasons not to buy an A5….it’s from a premium brand, has a sporty engine that requires higher grade fuel and has a sporty chassis……These are the reasons I’d buy it!!
I’m expecting your next car review to be on your new Mitsubishi Mirage, cheap to buy, cheap to run and plenty of ground clearance….the perfect car for your needs by the sound of it.
😂😂 these are the least important reasons. Was hoping for mechanical info
I have an A5 (2014 2.0L Quattro) and I loved it. No problems.
Just one that I agree with: it’s hard to get out of for a 64-year old!
I own a 2022 A5 Sportback. All your points are invalid. There's absolutely nothing I dislike about it.
Hi Abraham
The reason why you have to put "premium" fuel in the A5 :
In europe normal Gas got 95 octane
Premium Gas in europe is between 98 and 100 octane
I heard in the U.S ""regular " Gas only get 87-88 octane
so the engine was built for the european market, we also put this "E10" Bio Fuel in and its no problem
I agree lol
@ Patrick Williams I agree with you. I have this car and bought it new from the dealer and I love it. A lot of head turns with this car as well🥰
Love how the comment section is better at reviewing cars than the reviewer himself.
Audi in general is a well built car, you really can‘t go wrong with it…
Just make sure to check how the previous owner maintained the car and if it had any issues, if your buying used
Yes I own one and as Nick says below me I couldn't disagree more with your assessment of this car.
🤣👍
owning an Audi for over 15 years, and wouldn't trade it for any other brand. Love it.
the reason why it requires premium fuel is cos its turbocharged, not cos its a 4 banger
What a fucking man baby . This car is so good .
How much was insurance for this car(per year or roughly)
I’m a student and want to get this car 100%
I agree with the low profile. I had A5 and I live in nordics, large piles of snow and ice would get me stuck multiple times and also tore off some of the plastic covers.
I have an Audi A5 2013 1.8 Turbo Sportback with 92,000km
It's a used car with 1 previous owner that took exceptionally good care of it.
@@pramey He means Audi in general, also, the subject says "...A5" & nothing about year. Stop dissecting every little word/ phrase, think man!
CLICKBAIT VIDEO.
This review is pointless.
US premium fuel ist just standard in Germany :)
La plus grosse bêtise de UA-cam donner le micro a n’importe qui…
Audi A5 est une très bonne voiture
Basically this guy’s telling us to not buy an A5 because he couldn’t do research before buying the car: 1. complains about the engine requiring premium gas (d’oh!) - it has nothing to do with Audi in general
2. Not comfortable in the backseats: this is why people actually give the car a test drive before buying it
Dude!
This guy don't know what he talking about
if he wants more room, get an suv or a used a6 or a7
You got a s line package and said it’s too sporty and low… whaaa? These aren’t real reasons lol - I can only say the outside looks dated other than that there’s no issues haha
You should review an S5 Sportback. It’s oddly wild how different of a car it is from the ground up compared to the A5.
Also that’s not a COUP if it has two rear door panels. It’s a sport back you dummy lmao
I have a 2018 a5 sportback tfsi quattro and I bought a new one just in these days. One of the best car I've ever driven. I have two Childs and we can travel comfortable all around with any issue. Sporty but comfortable, the best of the best
You’re so lucky youtube doesn’t show the dislike bar anymore lol
All moot points . . . most of your "problems" would be alleviated by you dropping 50 pounds!
I’m looking into buying a 2013 Audi with a little over 133,000 miles on it. Do you guys recommend it?
This was 3 minutes and 25 seconds of my life that I will never get back.
I've got an audi a5 coupe 2019 40tfsi and I wouldn't listen to this video. It's by far the best and exciting car I've ever had. Love it
great video focusing on the drawbacks of this car. Now I knew all of it so I can buy one without regret lol
The reason for premium fuel is because it's a high compression engine. Premium fuel is more resistant to knocking. Don't think it has anything to do with the number of cylinders.
That isn't a coupe which you said at 2:24 , is it? It has four doors, so I'm pretty sure it's not coupe.. But correct me if i'm wrong
You aren’t wrong, it’s a liftback.
A5 is the best car I've ever driven. Never had any issues with it.
So first problem is that it costs money…
I am just gonna leave it right there
I purchased a 2015 Audi A5 premium plus S-line with 32k miles from my dealership I work at; they got it from auction- my purchase date was 4 months ago.
So if get this right, you got a sporty car and you're expecting it to be a suv?
Just watched, I'm on my second a5, love em.
Any tips on buying A5 2017 2.0tdi? Saw some informations about 140hp not being so reliable, what about 177hp and 190hp? Any particular engine numbers to avoid?
you are 6.1 lol average people are between 5.4 to 5.11 been back there is pretty roomie, but if you are getting an sport car you are not expecting people in the back
None of your arguments are valid to say don’t buy an A5, it’s an stunning car.
I don't understand what the problem is . The A5 sportback is a very good car . When you do a review please stick to the facts .
My man made me love my Audi A5 more.Special car for sure.I love your video too🔥👍
I own A5 and I have zero issues...I disagree with the video.
I'm not even sure what kind of car this guy needs as his reasoning is so ridiculous.
not just german, even acura's and lexus use premium for almost 90% or more of their vehicles, almost every luxury car uses premium
I think you bought the wrong car. Should stick to a Jetta GLI or Civic Si .. something in that level
This should be titled, "Why you shouldn't buy an A5 if you can't afford to maintain one."
These comments are really reassuring! Lowkey was second guessing my A5 for a sec
All you talked about was preferences. No actual issues with the car
Just bought a used 2018 A5, I owned a 2015 A3 for a few years and traded it in. Audi has treated me quite well over the years. Everything he mentions, I already knew.
I have a 2009 A5 and it's still such a thrill to drive - By now I've done some upgrades and it turns head still. Looking for something similar
With full of respect
But just becouse you bought a crap that previous owner didnt give a damn about the car to maintain it properly
And its falling apart while in your ownership
That doesn't mean the car or model is bad
Plus i don't know what kind of audi u have in US or somewhere there
But here in europe audi runs on all sort of diesel or petrol if its petrol
And no issues
