Almost weekly, there's a recall on meat, vegetables, etc. So, having more simple, yet practical ways of being self-sufficient is important more than ever. Love this video and thanks so much for sharing. One minor correction. Energy consumption is in watt hours or kilo watt hours not watts. At 0:48, your pump is consuming 45 watts of power. Run for the whole hour, it would consume 45 watt hours ( 45Wh) worth of electricity. Since it only runs for 12 minutes out of an hour, it consumes 45W * 12/60 h = 9Wh. Running for 24 hrs, it's 216Wh per day, not 216 watts per day. And yes, 216Wh per day x 30 days is 6,480Wh or 6.48kWh x $0.16 per kWh = $1.04 per month in the US. Awesome energy efficiency. Is the pump on for 12 minutes straight every hour, or 6 minutes every 30 minutes, or something else?
If you consider the plants in the tower are only using 1-2 gallons a day and the 45w pump runs for a full 4.8 hours a day the energy efficiency is woeful.
@@WorldCitizenW The water is just cycled through the tower and back to the reservoir, it wastes a lot of power but there`s no chance of a flood. If it was a genuine aeroponic tower, the pump would run for 24 minutes a day to grow the same number of plants. It would provide all of the benefits associated with aeroponics and you could choose to run it to waste, waste being less than a cupful per day. The elemental profile of a nutrient that is delivered to the tower just "once" is guaranteed. The elemental profile of the same nutrient cycled through a tower 97 times a day is not. Its a mixture of partially spent nutrient, root debris and anything that returns from the tower, including potential pathogens and heat. The longer you run the nutrient for, the further from optimal it gets. You cant run the tower garden to waste because its hydroponic, the 20 gallon reservoir wouldn`t last an hour.

Although technically a tower uses less than 1m², we advise allowing 2m² (approximately 20ft²) per tower: this includes enough space for the towers, the dosing station, the aisle spacing, and the propagation bench area. In other terms, in a 300m² space like yours, you will be able to fit up to 150 towers.

Great math? The pump runs for 4.8 hours a day and the plants only use 1-2 gallons a day. Consider how much power is being wasted pumping water to the tower unnecessarily. If this tower was genuinely aeroponic, the pump would run for no more than 24 minutes a day. This is an over priced hydroponic tower, not an aeroponic tower.
@@atomizer2665 Hello, I have read many of your comments. You seem like someone who can say things they don't know how to answer. I'm not good at engineering, I'm good at economics. I realize that there is a lot of energy waste, yet the value in electricity per monthly tower vs what it produces is minimal, when compared to usual agriculture. You seem like someone who knows a lot about aeroponic systems. What is the difference in installation and maintenance costs, what studies do I need to do and what is the difference in the nutritional level of the plants? Without wanting to abuse it, what would be your main problems with these towers? I mainly worry about the pump which doesn't appear to contain safe plastic and overpriced towers and systems. Thank you very much for educating us
@@LrnFrstSpkftr To compare an aeroponic tower to usual agriculture you need an aeroponic tower. The tower garden is of the most basic hydroponic variety and, as such, cant provide any of the benefits associated with aeroponics. A hydroponic tower doesnt allow you to incrementally adjust the amount the water and nutrient delivery down to a fraction of a ml. This level of control opens the door to the next option, running it to waste, which guarantees the cleanliness and elemental content of the nutrient. A nutrient that is recirculated is only optimal when freshly mixed, after that all bets are off because plants uptake elements at different rates. A nutrient that runs through once maintains the same elemental profile from the first drop to the last. It is completely isolated so it isnt subject to being contaminated by partially spent nutrient, exudate, debris, heat or potential pathogens returning from the tower. It negates the need for daily EC/PH checks/adjustments and makes cleaning the system a breeze. A genuine aeroponic tower costs a fraction of the price of a tower garden.

@@atomizer2665 okay you’re definitely educated but I’m afraid you are splitting hairs the aeroponic system/method you speak of is true high pressure. Nowhere in tower garden videos or marketing do they refer to their system as high pressure.
why not put a tilapia in one of the base of the towers and uses it as a hydroponic system. Genuienly asking
Is this crop genitically modified?
No. I have five.
Mujhe bhi Aisa pharming karna hai iske liye main kaise kya Karun ab mujhe bataiye sar

Lettuce share with you this amazing tower
Do the plants only need the water or include fertilizers?
The water is mixed with a 100% natural ionic mineral nutrient solution providing all the essential minerals and trace elements that the crops need in order to thrive and be healthy.
Is there one for potatoes that you can open op?
Can you mix the crop ie. Different types of leafy vegetables on each tower?
You can, but it is not ideal for optimal growth (fastest growth) as most people who do hydroponic tailor nutrient solutions and light exposure for a specific species.
Hello I have a question, when we talk about traditional soil culivation, we need nitrifying (or more) soil bacteria and fungus that live in symbiosis with the plants to be grown, is this the same for aeroponic method ? can we totally make the vegetable growing without these bacteria and fungus that transform nutrients ?
Aeroponic and hydroponic systems are usually meant to be sterile, and they typically use synthetic nutrients.
They are bombarded with nitrogen for rapid growth, don't believe in high mineral content
Can this vertical farming be done with corn? I do have other fruits and plants to grow as well
I was just wondering the same here as well
Would the water be filtered passing all those roots from watering & collected for more use?
Awedome stuff!
What happens if you can book her get the grow solution? Are there others options?
can i run this system in a warehouse?
Do you have any aeroponics course? I would like to develop aeroponics in Peru
These towers are hydroponic, they have no experience of aeroponics.
May I know if the materials are made of BPA free or food grade materials?
The Sicce pump that sits in the nutrient reservoir 24/7 is not food grade so it really doesnt matter what material the tower is made from. :)
Where we can buy ?

What's the nutritional value of a vegetable grown in water vs the one grown in soil?
On the contrary, these aeroponic crops have the same levels of nutrient density, antioxidant levels, and flavonoid levels as the best grown in soil. The study is featured on our website. Regarding the nutrients, it is a 100% natural ionic mineral nutrient solution that only has essential minerals and trace elements that plants need to grow healthy.

How are you? I am in South Africa and I am interested in having a rooftop greenhouse farm with aeroponic towers. How many towers of 67cm basin width would ideally be placed in a 30m x 10m greenhouse. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated ❤
@@Agrotonomy Thank you very much for your input. I greatly appreciate it
What kinda of food are you giving the plants?
We feed our plants with a combination of water and a natural mineral nutrient solution. Using a low-wattage submersible pump, this nourishing blend circulates from the bottom of the tower. Once it reaches the top, it gently drizzles down, showering the roots and creating an optimal environment for nutrient absorption.
nice
Hi I would love to use this I'm Somalia. How much would this setup cost per tower. I'm thinking of producing only lettuce in one hectare shade net greenhouse. I.e. 10000sqm could house 5000 towers?

Can you regrow from the plant without removing the roots
While you can cut and regrow, the second harvest would not be as bountiful as the first. We choose to harvest with roots intact to extend shelf life and add the roots to our compost.

Wanted to know what chemical is put in water before planting
The plants get their nutrients from an ionic mineral nutrient solution that is soluble and mixed in the water. It provides all of the macronutrients and micronutrients necessary for healthy plant growth.
Is this nutrient organic ?

Can you send it to Sri Lanka?
Yeah but does it taste as good as soil grown vegetables?
Plants grown aeroponically have 100% availability of oxygen at the root level enhancing their ability to absorb nutrients. As a result, whether talking about nutrient density, antioxidant levels, or flavonoid levels where crops rank as high as the best ever tested with soil farming. Increase in nutrient density, flavonoids, and antioxidant levels also translates in superior taste and vegetables with the appropriate texture and water content.

great teaching tool. well done ,good math.
Thank you very much for educating us
@@LrnFrstSpkftr
To compare an aeroponic tower to usual agriculture you need an aeroponic tower.
