I am so glad to hear this. This video took me the most time to research because I had a hard time finding information online on what plants to grow and what season to grow them in a vertical hydroponic system. Thank you for this kind feedback.
I`ve run aeroponics for well over a decade and can say its a very reliable way to grow. I`ve never had a clogged nozzle. The main issue is when you forget to turn the system back on , you learn to double check after you`ve done it a few times :)
Thank you very very very much for the information.... I want to start growing food for my family. I live in the tropics and I have limited space in my garden. I literally want to use all space that I have, but efficiently. The airoponic is the best for me thinkable now. I'm doing my research now so that I can have a good start. Thanks for this video. 👍
In my tower I used a pretty good sized pump that's moving a significant amount of water. My question is if I'm moving too much water am I just washing the roots? I'm running 15 min on 45 off. It's working just could maybe work better.
People, the best way for you to learn is get a bunch of seeds & throw them in~! It won't be long & you'll know what works & what doesn't. Plus it'll stimulate your little pea brain so you can troubleshoot should things not work out as expected. This is what is known as *"Hands on experience"* 🤗
Aquaponics is hard. I recommend starting with hydroponics and graduate to aquaponics after you are successful without the fish. measuring the ppm regularly will give you a good idea for when and how often to add nutrients. Mature plants will require more nutrients.
@ 1:47 what is the blue piece called? 1/2 in line up the tower pumped via submersible pump, through the cap, but WHAT is that dripping part called!? Thanks
The timer saves on electricity which is good because rain towers are not the most energy efficient things. If you measure how much water you pump to the top of your tower in one minute you can calculate how much water you pump in a day, eg; for the 15 on/15 off timing you`d multiply the 1min flow by 720. If you compare that number to the amount of water the plants take from the reservoir in a day you`ll be shocked at the difference :)
Is that why the commercial units are timed every 15 minutes on to the hour? I have mine set up for an hour - 2 off. During the heat of the day I run from 12pm - 4pm. I find I have to. Otherwise I won't be growing lettuce when the temp goes above 90* I want to grow lettuce year round.
@@andybilakshow260 When it comes to timing in hydroponic towers anything more than what it takes to wet the roots is a waste, they wont get any wetter :) The most common timers used for towers are the mechanical type which have 15 minute increments. 90 degree heat isnt ideal for lettuce, i`d definitely try to give them shade during the hottest / brightest part of the day. Lettuce needs 300-500 ppfd, full sun is around 2500 ppfd. If you have to run the water constantly to keep the plants upright its more likely to be a temperature issue in the tower rather than a lack of water. Most folks assume the inside of the tower will be the same temperature as the nutrient in the reservoir for some reason :)
Sorry, I made these slides myself through research of many sites and articles. I will post when I am able to create a website. For now - it is best is you can pause the video and take a screenshot. Sorry for inconvenience and the late reply.
How the water will go up and touch the deaired level of the plastic glass container? Is it that motor that throughs the water or what is the sprinking system every 15 minutes?
A lot of seeds from the big box stores were made for this season though they are stunted, or just not viable. The issue is they keep the packs outside in the grow area where it is VERY hot and humid. I need to find a new source, but going online the seeds are dang expensive.
Yes - it's expensive but its relative. When in the Philippines - I bought mine online through Lazada (their Amazon). I chatted with the supplier first to make sure they were a distributor and knew how to store seeds. I grow lettuce in the Philippines, so I bought heat tolerant varieties not available in the big box stores. I paid as much as 2 pesos (.04 usd) per pelleted seed, but I got 90+% germination. Also, I wrap unused seeds in foil and store in the refrigerator. In the US - I buy direct from Johnny Seeds.
PPM stands for parts per million. It is a measurement for the amount of dissolved solids in the water. In this case it should tell you the concentration of nutrients in your solution. This is important to the type of plant you are growing. Sorry for the late reply.
Hello @@expathydroponics8500! First off, thank you for posting this video. I recently had my 1st Grow Tower. Your video is VERY HELPFUL for people like me who's sooo overwhelmed with starting to grow herbs & veggies in a Grow Tower. Question, what A&B nutrients do you use, how many do you pour into 1 reservoir and when do you replenish them? Thank you in advance. 😄
The link should be at 1:35 into the video. I checked and it seems to be working. Let me know if you continue to have problems and thank you for your feedback.
My design is the opposite system. So my plant arrangement is different too. I studied environmental tech, water chemistry. Too much work for me, your system
Extremely well explained. The most valuable video on this topic on UA-cam

Good job! Can't believe you unpacked an exhaustive prezo hydroponics in just under 8 minutes.
Ha Ha - thank you. Made me smile.

Hello? How the water sprinkling done from top to bottom?
Wow, that was a great informational video. It answered all the questions that I couldnt find in over 15 videos I went through. THNX!
Tony - thank you for the kind comment. I had the same problem. That is why I made this video.
excellent video❣ respect 🙌👏👍thank you for sharing ❤🙏

Great job bro.
Thank you, Jose.
Nice One New ideas 😃💡💡💡.....👍👍👍😊😊
Thank you! 😊
I am curious to find that specific timer you used. Kindly share the link to it
Wow that's awesome video bro loved it 👍🏿 bro what's the estimated cost of setting up hydroponics setup in one acre.
Ha Ha - for vertical hydroponics it will be very expensive if you buy commercially. For me - I will make for myself.
@@expathydroponics8500 how to make it urself? Any diy video for that?
Is it possible to get the vertical grow tower planting guide in a pdf?
Yes- when I finally add a website. In the meantime, please just pause and print screen for what you want.
Thank you for this video. Am a newcomer and 3D printed a tower. Question is how often do I put nutrients in the mix?
Get fish then *never.* Just feed the fish.
You'll need to measure the Ph and PPM to adjust to get to your target levels.
Ikr you're suggesting a combo of aero and aquaponics...but then again won't the fish feed affect the plants when the water gets circulated..?

Hi.....i really need help in starting my hydroponics garden
The best way to learn is watching UA-cam videos and then learn like I did - from making mistakes.😊
💚🌍 Feed vertical plants natures way with a fish ponds & aquatic plants instead of chemicals
I love aquaponics, but it a medium system it takes a lot of extra work. Maybe I will try that in the future.
thank you very much, where can i get the vertical grow tower planting guide as a pdf or an excel file ?
good video
thanks
I have and can save to a PDF format. I can send to you - if you give me an email address.

Usually they're on like 5m on 15m off, or 15m on 45m off.
Your watch the plants to see if you need more or less for signs of over and under watering.
Nicholas is correct. I use a pump designed for a pond that sits underwater and a timer that is 15m on and 15m off.
