I’m with whoever voted for Grid-Iron! I was not a huge Duke fan as a kid, and I ended up using Grid-Iron a lot as field commander. I’m very surprised at some of the omissions like Ambush. I think Saw Viper was made popular through his infamous appearance in the comics, but I think his figure wasn’t that strong The modern version is a better representation imo.
I had an off camera discussion with Dave about voting with your kid brain or collector brain being a big factor at who you vote for in some cases. I may some day, years from now when I own all the accessories (good luck) make my own personal Top 10 lists.
My childhood Pathfinder never got armed with his accessories, always found him another gun. Rampart is one I came to like as an adult, reminds me of a Rebel Hoth trooper. The European Crimson Guard Immortal used the Rock Viper head, which looks cool.
Trying to guess the 10 figures of this video... 1. Night Creeper 2. Bullhorn 3 Static line 4. range viper 5 laser viper 6 Freefall 7 Ambush 8 Viper sonic fighter 9 undertow 10 rampart. (edit) 4 out of 10 still ok. You have a great channel but the ads annoy me a bit.
Almost doesn't feel right for Ambush not to be on this list. As far as your questions about the straps on Salvo's legs they are actually ammunition for the odd machine gun on top of the mine launcher. Keep the lists coming as there are still some great molds in the 91-94 era.
I grew up with one of the 90s figures and hand me down figures for my brothers for the original 80s toy line I love the real firing Rockets I would also use my street fighter and Mortal Kombat figures the comics now introduce Street Fighter against GI Joe it's really good comic
I was also watching the GI Joe movie a lot original animated movie my brothers would help me go to Toys R Us or KB Toys to find GI Joes also with the Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter figures the Mega Marines and eco-warriors I also like to join monster it was good time growing up hanging out with my friend I still do to this day word find different ways the play GI Joe I also would try in Batman fighting cobras and couple Joe's I was watching the 1988 movie
1990 was definitely a year that all of the Cobra figures were great but Joes seemed mediocre in comparison. I think Ambush was the best of the Joes in 1990.
Based on my Collector's Guide I feel 1990 was the first year Hasbro was really reaching. None of these new characters seem relevant in the GI JOE universe.
Well, I think the hardcore fans and even Larry Hama were infatuated with the earlier characters from the Sundow Series and first 75 issues of the comic. Eventually you are trying to replace soldiers with another version of yourself. I do believe they were starting to reach, but I know some DIC cartoon fans that love these characters.
The Problem with 1990 and 91 is that the figures are solid but (with 3 of 4 exceptions) there is nothing that really stands out or has a wow factor. Besides that most the figures are actualy kind of a remake from the early toys.
The line was on a downslide from 87 on. It was loosing market share. They tried hard to keep it a float. It's amazing how many figures they released in 93 for line to die in 94.
@@Pegwarmers Boys were interested in toy soldiers, and GiJoe did fulfill that desire. But I guess after a while they ran out of ideas from the futuristic figures, the sport player with weapons and onwards.
1990 such an underrated year
Yeah, it just gets lumped in with the 90's.
Lot of great figures from 90, really surprised SAW Viper wasn't on here he's a G.O.A.T Cobra for sure 🤔
European Range Viper card is a lot closer to the figure. Check it! It's pretty cool.
I like the art with the missile launcher!

Thanks for checking out the videos!

They are all filmed. Just collecting B-Roll and Editing.
If I made my own list, Ambush would be in the top 10.
Sky Patrol Airborne was pretty good. Surprised he didn’t make it.
He's a decent figure, but he's a new head on an old body with an old codename. I do love the gray camo!
Oh really, who else had his body? I really liked the grey camp. Realistic colors because harder and harder to find as the we got into the 90s.
@@kyleharbaugh9738 All of Sky Patrol reused bodies of old vehicle drivers. Airborne uses Lift Ticket's body. He's the Tomahawk pilot.

That's cool. One if my buddies had a lot of the 90's joes but had some early 80's figures from his older brothers.

@@dalesanteford7432 Yeah, I used random other toys with my GI Joe's also.
Damn i saw a loose figure of a range viper but never bought him. Now i think about it. He loooks hella evil
Don't get caught slippin'
The 25th anniversary (or FSS?) of the Cobra Range Viper Commander has a different art as well as a better face mask.
Yeah
So does every Rock Viper need to grow a moustache to join?
No, they all wear stick on mustaches.
Undertow was good enough, but would have killed in standard Iron Grenadiers colors.
All the IG guys that came in weird colors would have rocked in Red, Black, and Gold!

It one of the last years where the Joe's look liked Army Men.
First! Yo Joe!
Cobra!

Both the cartoons and most of the figure ratings seem to have dropped in 1990.
