    It's been two years since we last checked out a Corsair One prebuilt PC, but the series is returning for 2024 and it is bigger than ever - literally! Sporting a new design with wood front panel, larger micro-ATX motherboard and liquid cooling for both CPU and GPU, it is safe to say Corsair is not holding back with the latest iteration of the One. We review the flagship model, with i9-14900K, RTX 4090 and 64GB RAM, priced at an eye-watering £4699.99…

    This case looks like it visited the 70s. Wood panels and RGB is a very hippy thing to have together.
    As for me, remove the RGB, make the start button a black on black subtle design. The case would look far better.
    It's also grossly expensive.

  • @katzicael

    the RGB nonsense ruins the aesthetic of the wood, yes you can turn it off - but the power button is also hideous.

      I cannot see dishing out this much for this system with the limited noisy cooling and strangled cpu output. It is a nice looking case but Corsair has used premium parts and stepped them down to match the cooling system

  • @Christopher_S
    @Christopher_S Місяць тому +3

    They advertise this as having "optimised" cooling that keeps it always under control, but testing proves that's not the case. I think that given the price of £4700, the under load noise is completely unacceptable to be honest.
    I think the only thing they optimised was finding the lowest amount of cooling hardware they could use, while keeping the machine running. They optimised their profits, not the cooling.

    I cant put my finger on it but somehow this case reminds me of the high end cases of the early 2000s. I think it's the grooved plastic.

    apperantly it's grooved aluminium not plastic,
    looked like plastic on photos/videos

    My guess is the reasoning behind the custom BIOS is that newer BIOS versions dont allow undervolting on B760 without tripping into current excursion protections that can really hurt performance.
    So it will be a BIOS that uses an older microcode version which can skirt that problem I reckon.
    The lower wattage of an AMD CPU might have really helped with the noise, even if it would have been slower in some respects.
    Ultimately... It's too much money especially with next gen right round the corner.
    Build yourself a compact matx build with the same specs AND buy a 4k qd oled monitor and you'll still save a few quid...

      Nah you're right. It looks like a dollar store add-on when it could have left the aesthetic alone. Or been a solid brass button with the corsair logo embossed on that. But this looks like a plastic button in the middle with a light behind it. Because it is. When you're paying 5 Gs and the case looks 1G.

    Excellent review. £4700 is a swingeing markup. I'm not impressed with that GPU cooler. You mentioned the cooling of the VRMs, but it also looks like it blocks use of the bottom x4 / x16 slot. Is that the case or can you fit a card like 10 Gb ethernet or video capture card?

    @6:30
    I’d like to correct you if I may. You mentioned that Corsair is cooling both the die and memory/VRM on the 4090. That is incorrect. The GPU AIO is surprisingly only cooling the die, the the rest of the GPU PCB is cooled by the fan alongside the 120mm AIO.

    • @osamadessouky802
      @osamadessouky802 Місяць тому +1

      I think the design is flawed. Using the worlds most power hungry CPU and cooling it with a 120mm AIO is silly, especially when pairing it with the worlds most power hungry GPU and not cooling its memory or VRM, all on top of a B series motherboard that lacks any support for PCIe 5!? For £4700!!??

    • @osamadessouky802
      @osamadessouky802 Місяць тому

      Lastly, Corsair in their infinite wisdom removed support for iCUE in this system. You simply cannot install it.
      What would you do then if you had Corsair peripherals like a mouse and keyboard? You would need iCUE to properly use them.

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  29 днів тому +1

      no, i say at that timestamp that the GPU AIO contacts the die and memory (via a copper plate) which is correct. the VRM is completely uncovered however as i show and say in the video - it is not cooled by the AIO

    case looks lovely but I watched Der Bauer's review of this product and it was pretty damning. The liquid cooling thermals were dreadful and he achieved better with a simple swap to 25mm fans for which there is enough room, a low profile air cooler from Noctua and then reversing the fans to give better cooling to the GPU. The results were noticeably better affirming the point that the use of liquid is poor. If you're going to use liquid then at least do it properly instead of cutting corners for an extortionate price tag.

    After watching der8auer's review, I am a bit disappointed in what you missed. Usually your reviews are capture more of the issues Roman mentioned in his video, especially the woefully inadequate cooling solution and extremely loud fans (including the choice to go with a slim vs. full fan). I feel like you should've been more critical, especially given the price point, but not mentioning the terrible cooling solutions for the GPU and CPU, I can only hope others who are considering buying this also find der8auer's review to watch as well before committing such an atrocious amount of money to this build.

    Imo they should have just put in a 14700K but I suspect that they expect ppl to focus more on the idea of having a 14900K giving the illusion of more power when in reality its much less. I have a Corsair 2000D w/ a 14700K & 4090 TUF OG OC which is smaller and easily out performs this system. The only real down side is the case build quality is not as good but this thing costs like $5000 which you can damn near build 2 pc's for that price. What a cash grab.

Should’ve a full cover. Slim fans, for such a not so small case is another poor choice. Should’ve been at least 25mm ones. B760 motherboard, you cant tell me corsair and MSI cant OEM a Z790 micro-ATX board just for corsair
    No wifi-7, yes not super crucial but means having wifi 7 it is compatible with future routers
    No thunderbolt at all, well this is obviously because if the B760 board but definitely, should of been addressed considering the Z690 i400 (US only) had two thunderbolt ports.
    120mm radiator instead of 240mm, were they have that fan could of put a 240mm radiator there
    Looking at the graphic card, looks like this will have to come out to upgrade the SSD in the original slot how solid it is i dont know.
    Not everyone wants dark or light wood, they should of also just had a black only option as well.

    A custom config from PCSpecialist or Cyberpower would crush this for price-to-performance
    The Corsair One has lost its cool, I think. The i300 (being so compact and so powerful) made it genuinely intriguing, as ITX systems are a faff to build and not always available as System Integrator PC's
    Now the i500 is big, it's unappealing, not particularly cool, and overpriced

    The only good thing about this system is the case. 120mm AIO for the 14900k is a joke, the GPU cooling is a joke, mobo is whatever....wtf

    After spending the UK equivalent of 550 pounds to deck out my build with Corsair's link ecosystem, I can honestly say that I will NEVER EVER buy Corsair again for as long as I'm a PC gamer...Their hardware and software is about as reliable as putting your entire PC into a bath filled with water and hoping it works. MSI and Lian-Li, while still horrible, at least have SOME SEMBLANCE of working order for their integration and above 50% uptime.

    Considering all the reports since the 4090 launch, the gpu power cable looks pretty flexible.
    They really be into the wood panels, matches my Atari 2600 perfectly.
    Governments raise taxes all the time so i cant blame Corsair for doing the same. If you really want the brand, pay the tax.

    Slapping wood on a case doesn’t really make it organic or cool looking. Sorry. It’s aged it massively compared to the older versions.

    noisy hotbox, no fan control, and the wood panel is ugly, fractal north is top notch imo

    What a hunk of junk and waste of money. Terrible waste of space for a 22L design. I’ve seen cases at 15L with dual 280 custom loops. Not to mention the cost 😂

    120MM cooler on an I9. What are we doing here. How about air cooling the 4090 like a normal person and using that 240MM space for the CPU. How do you make a build like this and think, "Perfect, we only had to neuter the CPU to make this almost overheat".
