Looked everywhere for videos to install my Samsung slimline otr. Most of the videos were a bit helpful, but so hard to see. Loved your video. It was clearly explained and easy to see, except the small blurry section. Thanks so much!!
Did you leave any type of gap above your microwave? I have a Samsung that’s 16 1/2 inches from top to bottom and I lost the template but I should be able to work around it. I don’t know if I should measure the bottom of the mounting bracket at 16 1/2 inches, or a little more. I figured you have to tilt it to put it in.
No gap above the microwave. What I would do is put toothpaste on the screws that go through the holes, and the cardboard cut out then press microwave up into cabinet, then you have your areas to cut/drill.
@@EdwardInTX so just to reiterate. If the back of the microwave is measuring 16 1/2 inches, as well as the measurements in the manual, then I am basically putting the bottom of the mounting bracket at 16 1/2 inches which will then make it flush with the bottom of the cabinet above when I swing it up to put the two overhead mounting bolts in?
@@EdwardInTX OK great thank you! Yeah, that makes sense now. I have my centerline down so it’s just a matter of making sure it’s level and I’ll mark off the drill holes.
Question!! Did you have to put the charcoal filter in the top? We have this model, and it just stopped working. Getting a new one next week. Also, the bottom vent filter on ours comes out when the oven heats up....crazy 15 feet across the kitchen. We are replacing with the same one because it matches everything else. Ugh fingers crossed new one is better.
We just installed ours (same model) after watching your video and Samsung video . I having trouble with the hood not extracting the air up , it just condensates on the glass door when cooking on the stove . I think mine is faulty. I tested the vent when it was on the floor and the flap was lifting fine by itself when the vent mode was on , it once installed on the counter , it’s not sucking up anything but up top still feels like it’s working just fine . Can’t test in show room , and no video show it functioning as it should to compare. Can you do a short clip of boiling water and hood sucking up vapor?
I'm very apprehensive of overhead microwaves. What's the benefit? I like to heat a lot of liquid stuff in the microwave and having it up like that I think is not safe for me.
The benefit of having it over-the -range is the savings of counter space. Also, they have exhaust fans underneath (above the stove) for venting smoke or steam. Lastly, they also have a light to illuminate what your cooking. Its safe and secure mounted to the wall. The hardware and mounting bracket are great, plus microwaves have gotten very light. Mounted correctly, I can't see these things falling off the wall.
I just bought the exact same microwave and it’s being delivered this Monday. My concern is my tile backsplash and the horizontal bracket. My tile is like yours, even across from one bottom of the cabinet to the other cabinet. Obviously I don’t know the drop from the top of the opening to the bottom of the cabinet on yours. I’m sure our cabinets are very close in measurements. Did you have to cut any tile off to install the bracket on the bottom? I can see in the video the screws are just above the tile on yours. My other concern was it being level if tile cause the bottom of the microwave to stick out a little further then the top. Thank you, any advice is appreciated!

thank you!
You keep this short and sweet. It doesn't look like a hard job at all other than handling the weight of the unit for lifting it into place.
Great help since I lost the instructions!!! Thank you!
Awesome!
Excellent! Much better and clearer, than watching 25 min tutorials.. like some other people post.
Awesome!!

@@EdwardInTX thank you! Yeah, because you know these instructions from these companies aren’t the greatest.

@@soulprovider915 yes, and that rear bracket has a little bit of flex to account for that.

Did you set the time on the microwave I cannot find the time and I have the same microwave as you could you let me know thank you
Thank you this video definitely helps.
I got the same exact microwave.
Awesome!
You didn’t tell where charcoal filter goes
What size is the exhaust adapter piece?
What size drill bit did you use

Nope! Also, that's surprising!
Nice vid, Edward! How has your microwave held up? Thinking about getting a Samsung one to match the fridge and dishwasher I'm gonna get
Still works well, with my main issue being the clock runs behind everything else in my house. I have to reset it every few months.

I’ve been wondering what that little piece of cardboard that’s screwed into the inside of the microwave is for. Do you have any clue what it’s for??
Appears to be a shim for spacing away from the installed wall tile
That explained nothing at all
Hi , what’s the height of the microwave, 17.06 or 16 inches ?
Thanks
How do you like it? I’m looking to buy this exact one
I love it. Only problem is the clock is slower than normal time, so I have to adjust it every other month
You just skipped right over installing the mounting plate correctly. Kind of important. It only keeps the microwave in place.
Hello, would you know if you can use 4 inch diameter duct pipe or has to be 6 inch diameter.
4 should be fine
where is the clearance for the blower door to be able to open for exhaust fan?

What was the depth of the cabinet above the microwave? I will be using 15" ikea. Thanks
15" (excluding the door part)
thanks a lot it really helped
What is the back plate I need to get.... just got this microwave in black and the current back plate isn't compatible...
It feels more like a guide than anything else. It's a flimsy metal piece. Mine came with the plate.
