2 years later and still the man. The most thorough install and explanation on YT on OTR microwaves.
Thank you King Mike.
Felt like an idiot for a whole night. I couldn’t find the mounting bracket until I watched this video.. lol thanks
My GE microwave from 2005 finally crapped out. At first ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxO_Bc204MGjxDl87cOKcdgaRhzSqGmv_g I was unsure because I was looking for something with the exact same features. Found it with this one. Interior space cavity was large, but the outside was smaller than my old one. I love the one-button push for 1-6 minutes, and the 30 second add or 30 second start. and MOST IMPORTANTLY, I love how you can adjust the power level during cooking. The reviews said it could not be done, but this marked all the other boxes. and happy to say, it does. I can hit 1 minute start, and change the power level from 10 to 5, 30 seconds in, without interruption. my favorite feature!
I was worried about doing this myself. But after seeing your video of the install. I have complete confidence in doing this. Probably the best how to video I have ever watched. Thank you sir. Very much appreciated.
You are very welcomed John! Thanks for tuning in and hope you have a great holiday season!
Perfect tutorial. I just bought a new Samsung microwave (different model) but same size that was replacing a 7 year old Samsung as well and you didn’t miss a step and I got my new microwave installed in less than 30 minutes since I used the old bracket and screws that I had in place before.
I am so happy i can scream!!! I hung my tenants Samsung over the stove microwave based on your instruction! There were no glitches. This was my third microwave in 25 years that went into that apartment.
Originally, in 1997 I only offered tenants wallpaper for backspace then the next time I had a microwave replaced I added glass/ceramic tiles. So when the 2nd microwave failed I had a dilemma to place a larger/taller microwave into that space.
So, it was necessary to fill the gap and make the support flush, on the same plane.
I had to add two 1/4 plywood (1/2 inch finished) pieces to fill the gap from area that didn’t have backsplash.
Worked like a charm. I suggest that anyone can do the install. It took a total of three hours from start to finish to remove the old microwaves, adjust the fans and add charcoal filter, add the two pieces of plywood drill holes, screw support plate and plug it in.
I suggest wearing gloves with rubber palms to avoid dropping the microwave, use a torpedo level with stud finder, pencil and ruler to accurately be in line with the stud. I use red lipstick smudged on the drill bit to mark through the pattern. You So Much❤
This is so amazing Patricia! I love getting comments like this. I am so happy you were able to do it by yourself without any problems! Hope everything has been smooth since you installed it!
Not only the video tutorial is done straightforward an easy to understand but your tone of voice and wording of the explanation also helps the viewer to get a clear idea of the whole process. keep it up
Thanks man, just did our first one-never done it before, we just got our first home back in August, everything went perfect on installation thanks to you
Just bought the same exact model. I’m more of a visual person and you explained it better than the instructions.
Aw man! Thank you so much! That is a great model microwave! Hope you enjoy it!
I'm a 56 year old not-so-healthy woman that learned serious DIY skills over my 5 decades. But things change, and the brain gets rusty. You are now my GO-TO guy. You don't talk down, you give the whole story without droning on and on. Great video. My helper (16) helped with the muscle and was shocked at my drill bit changing skills 🙂
Bought a similar Samsung model from Lowes. The instructions were terrible, this video really helped out!
Without this video, I don't know if I would have been able to install the microwave with the instructions provided by the manufacturer. Thank you.
No problem! Thanks for the support and I have noticed a lot of people are better at following instructions via video than a user manual!
You have been a life saver, we just got our Samsung appliances delivered yesterday and with your help we got the Refrigerator and now the microwave installed. Thanks so much papo, mil gracias.
You’re AWESOME!!! Thanks to you, I successfully installed a new dishwasher a few months ago. Now I’m tackling the microwave. Thank you SO much!!! You ROCK!!! 🚀💥
The instructions on how to reposition the blower assembly threw me off my game. I’m so glad I found your video. It saved me from installing them wrong. 👍🏼
The reason they suggest boring a 1/2” hole for the anchor bolts that supports the microwave is it provides you with “slop” space so you can easily line-up the bolts to screw them on and not strip-out the bolts. Nice feature!
It took me about 20-minutes to remove my old, broken microwave and 45-minutes to install the new one. Roughly 1-1/2 hours, including clean-up.
Love my new Samsung microwave!
Probably the single best instructional video I've seen on the internet. You covered every variation, and the directions were very easy to follow. Thanks man 👍
Awesome ! Your instructions were so helpful I was able to finish the installation in hour and 30 minutes with little help from my wife.
just bought the same microwave and I thought I had to drill a hole for the exhaust. I'm glad I found your video. I never would've thought you had to flip the blower to recirculate. Thanks so much!
Yea thank god you found my video! Glad I was able to help you out!
Great job explaining what to do. Just saved my 80 year old neighbor lots of money
I appreciate the real installation. I'm not the only guy dropping bolts. Well done, makes sense.
Great job I loved the disposition of this instructor he was great and very intelligent!! Keeping it simple thank you! Wish the music was not there.
You are the one of the best on you tube. I hope you get wealthy soon. Keep up the great work. Everyone support his channel.
Thank u sir! I took down my old Samsung and hung the new one effortlessly. I cheated and used the same bracket, but your video gave me the confidence to do it!!
This is one of, if not the best tutorial installation video ever created!! 1st time ever doing this. Thanks alot.
Replacing an old amsung with a similar new one, great refresher course. I hopefully will be able to use the same bracket. I had forgotten about the top screws. Thank You for a great video.
Thanks for this video. My wife opened the box for our new microwave a couple of weeks before we installed it and managed to lose the installation guide _and_ the templates. From this video I learned how to turn the exhaust fans for recirculation (and to put the plate on top of the oven), how to install the charcoal filter, and that, since our old microwave was also a Samsung, the mounting bracket and screw holes were likely to be in the same places. It worked out fine, and we didn’t need the templates. (Actually, our wall behind the mounting bracket had two studs, so we didn’t even need a toggle bolt.) Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks and to ask how we ever got along without UA-cam!
Thank you so much for the kind comment! I can definitely tell by your comment you watched this video in great detail! I am glad you were able to install your over-the-range microwave. Thanks again for watching our video and visiting our channel.
Thanks for this Video.. The fans I screwed up until i saw yours and then paper placement made this such a quick and easy job.
Thanks bro. I just watched your video and didn't have to use the directions. Much appreciated.
Thank you. Your instructions were much easier to follow that those that came in the box. Everything went smooth and seamless.
Your video made my installation so much easier! Great job and THANK YOU!!!
This was excellent hand very thorough. I appreciate your attention to detail which is so helpful. I was very concerned about hanging the microwave with a tile backsplash. Apparently that wasn’t a problem in your case as you didn’t mention it. I liked your tips at our drilling the cabinet base from the inside to avoid splitting the wood. Your other recommendations about flipping the vent. Samsung requires that you undue their screws in the mounting plate and the upper vents to redirect the exhaust in the kitchen rather than outside, which was a surprise- I guess that way the parts aren’t lost! Thanks very much.
Thank you so much Patricia, I saw you were able to install it without problems from your other comment!
Hey this install was to the "T" as if you were doing it for me, every step was exactly as you described. Thanks for the awesome DIY video, and saving me an install fee! Keep up the great work...well done!
I would like to offer a tip. Plug the microwave in and test it before mounting. Nothing worse than going thru the work just to take it back down and return it to the store.
I like how you are very well explained and easy to understand I just wish you threw up those special indications like if you don't have a new bit go from the top to drill your hole instead of the bottom before you show us how to drill the hole from the bottom thank you for making this easy look into tackle!!!🤗
Great video! I couldn't figure out those toggle screws until I saw you do it. I'm installing myself, too. Thanks to this video, now I can finish
FANTASTIC!!! Thanks for this completely thorough tutorial. I’m now confident that I can install my Samsung microwave.
Thank you soo much!!!!! My brother and I had no clue how to install the carbon filter. This video really helped us out
You might appreciate a set of forstner bits. They drill a perfectly clean hole 🕳. Paddle bits tend to rip and shred, especially cheap particle board cabinet materials. Forstners will usually keep that laminate many cabinets have looking sharp (not chipped, ragged, or torn).
Foresters have a circular shape with perpendicular blades that "scoop" the material out following a perfect circular shape.
The negative of using a forstner is that you don't want to expand an already existing hole, because they'll walk on you (but there are tricks for that too). The center of the forstner aligns and holds the bit in place (it makes its own "pre-drill"). But a wider existing hole gives it nothing to hold onto.
The drill time is about the same (negligible).
Hope that helps. :)
I've had my microwave for about 5mths now. This video really gave me the confidence to just go ahead and install it myself, which was the plan to begin with but after opening the box I wasn't so sure. I'll give an update once I've actually installed it.
Great video, thanks. What does the "trim the rear wall template along dotted line" mean that's printed on the template? Does that mean to cut that off the template before putting it on the wall? Thanks for your help
Yes, the template is used as a guide to place the wall bracket at the proper height.
Dude!..I'm still struggling a bit with the install, but your video helped me so much! Thank you.
@Samsung - Folks you need to tag this video for customers. it makes install papers make so much sense..
Great to point out that the bracket comes attached. Took me over 2 hours before I found it. Was ready to call Samsung and raise hell thinking it wasn't included in the package.
I just got my microwave today. You made this seem really easy! I will knock this out in no time tomorrow!
Thank you
Glad you enjoyed the video! I'm open to creating content based on what you want to see. Any preferences for the next appliance-related topic?
Your video is much better than Samsung's own video!
Thank you so much! I definitely try to make my videos top notch quality.
First time home builder. This helped me so much and glad I found you. This video is very well instructed. Thanks so much.
Glad it helped! I'll be installing a variation of appliances by different brands and models. Hopefully they continue to help you as a home builder!
Thanks man, had the same microwave just followed along play by play. You saved me hours of figuring it all out myself.
I am literally installing this same microwave tonight and the instructions that came with it were ridiculous.. I knew there was a faster way.. I found your video and I'm done already 😆.. good night world.. absolutely great video!!
Awesome video, thanks for showing us all the installation steps. If it wasn’t for your video I would probably still be reading the installation instructions.
Very good video. Just about to install this exact model and what a huge help this is. I really like the tips about what to do and not to do such as avoiding a split to the wood. Very helpful. Thanks for this.
This video was helpful for installing my Samsung Microwave. I do have a question and hopefully you will see this. My Samsung is not creating suction at the bottom. Plenty of air is blowing out the charcoal filter, but no suction is happening on the underside. Any insight would be helpful.
Thank you so much for this video. This is me first under cabinet microwave and you made it so simple and giving us all is the crazy things to look out for really helped.
Thank you. Gonna try it with hubby tonight.
@@TheAppliancePlug Yes thank you for this great video but my hard headed husband didn't want to follow the top shelf hole drills sooooooo my shelf looks like swiss cheese but we did it.
Thank You Thank You Thank You…you helped me install my microwave and I did it alone watching your video 😅 only thing is it looks like u have the slimmer version 😂 I was like he picked that up easily 😅 mine was heavy 😣 other than that it’s done. 🎉
Awesome! You are welcome! Glad you were able to get your microwave up and working. And yes they do have different versions and you might have the bigger one.
Very good video. We just bought a Samsung and I’ve never installed one of these. I bet I can now. Thank you
James hopefully you were able to install it since you commented. Thanks for the support!
My man, you just walked me through installing this microwave. Good stuff!
Watch the whole video. Good job man. My microwave comes in soon. You saved me 90dlls.
My new Samsung microwave did not come with the paper templates, mounting screws or charcoal filter. So I reused the mounting screws from my old GE and measured everything by hand. Thank you! This step by step video really helped me with the installation of my new Samsung microwave. 👍🏽 Do you have any videos for Samsung dishwasher installs? 🤔
A little late to the party, but check this video out: ua-cam.com/video/hWrrgYFtdjQ/v-deo.html
Just installed it tonight thanks to you! It turned out great and did it by myself!
Just a little note.... The back wall bracket IS for weight support ! The 2 top screws are for keeping it from falling forward. Not the other way around as mentioned in your video. Tks !
It seems that everyone is pleased with following your directions, but I have that same model and the directions say to rotate the blower fan 90 degrees and cover the hole for recirculating set up. Can you explain why yours didn't need that step?
you are correct. The blower openings will point toward the front of the microwave and that metal plate needs to be placed on top of the microwave.
Thank you for the video. Question. The blower in the back. What if the hole is in the back instead of up high. Can you flip the blower over? Thank you
Yes, blower can be flipped to vent through the back. There's pre cut attachments that need to be removed.
Thanks for taking your time out & sharing!! this helps out because most of these Samsung microwaves look like they are all similar. Can you do a video with a rear vent and the vent to the top out the roof?
Thank you for tuning in and for the sub! I can definitely add that video idea to my list!
Thank you very much, your video helped us a lot in the installation of our new Samsung microwave oven, Really appreciated !!
Couldn’t of done my install without you buddy, thanks a bunch !
Thank you for the easy to understand instructions. We have one issue. Unfortunately we were fiddling with the screws/bolts that are used to hang and one of the bolts fell through. Do you have any idea how we can get it back in place?
Unfortunately, there isn't an easy way. I've never had to do that, but I'm only assuming you would need to completely remove the casing from around the microwave. I'd love to here your feedback on how you get it done. Good luck!
@@TheAppliancePlug You are correct. We had to remove the casing. It was not as difficult as I had thought and all went smoothly after we had the bracket out.
This helped me out tremendously, thanks!
No problem! Thank you for tuning into my channel and if you need any extra help let me know!
this helped me sooo much! Got a Samsung Mirco w/o instructions. Very easy to follow & displayed the model number beforehand. THANK YOU! 💥💯🤎
,Man thank you so much , renovated my kitchen myself this made my life so easy
appreciated so much , 5 stars .
Thanks for video. Retired contractor here. #1 read the directions. #2 follow this video.
Be sure to trim template for recessed cabinet bottoms. Tape in place. Use mounting blocks for recessed. No offense for minor critque. Don't recirculate!
Thanks for a great tutorial!!! Bought the same model so this video was perfect
Really great video, you took the intimidation out of doing this myself. Just a side thought, the background music is a bit distracting and makes it more difficult to hear the instructions. I thought the video was interesting enough on its own, jmo. Thanks for the help!!
Thanks for the instructions! did you ever have to deal with a "bump out bracket" for a microwave (samsung) which does not allow more than 12" cabinet depth above it? This causes problems with section cabinets from ikea so hoping to get some tips from the pros :)
Great video so informative I just finish mine thank you so much props yo you and the camera man... thanks and God bless you for sharing the video.
Bro, this was very helpful.... it made installing my Microwave easy.... much appreciated....
Just bought this same model at Home Depot , wonderful video showing every step to follow in an intelligent manner. The most complete and direct instruction to install...Thanks a bunch Mike !Appreciate your help.
Glad it helped. Thank you!
Thank you so much!! Video was spot on perfect. God bless my friend!!😀

@@TheAppliancePlug How do you set the clock on that model? The instruction sheet explains it by using Control Setup and Clock but there's no icon on the microwave for either...
@@tonyorob do you see any options to the left or right of the zero to go into a settings menu?
