Hi, think your measurements are off, need to figure out what's wrong. Are using oem points? New feeler gauges? Maybe the plunger is wrong? Flywheel key or cam issue? New oem condenser? Thanks for watching and the comment.
How long does the points stay closed in relation to the flywheel marks. Answer to my question Adding on to question! what I was asking is! the cam that open and closes the points the peak of the is at 90* of the rotation points are now fully open turn 90 * again and the are fully close and the cam is ilon the flattest spot. At this point u can gauge for the dwell. A multi meter set to continuity help pinpoint first not contact.

my kohler will not run unless the point gap is .004 anything wider and it runs backwards
