It depends on if you want it to last a few months or a couple of years. The breaking point for these paltry VW Rods no matter what a “Its never happend to me”, UA-camr says it is usually due to TQ spikes from crappy tunes. There’s always someone running too much HP/TQ that’ll blab all day about how they’re running 300-400HP not comprehending that WILL never reliably represent every other 1.8t, you’d be lucky if another 2% of motors would survive. There’s simply no excuse to pay a few grand for a spanky new snail to not treat your engine with the proper preparation of basic engine building to enjoy that newly found power. As its been said to death, do better rods, pistons and valves, toss in a correct hone with some new rings, arp bolts because you should and a correct break in will net you reliable years of fun and PEACE OF MIND, Lol. Being smart and just doing the basics is far better then listening to some DA on youtube who’s neever turned a spanner talking about what their car can do until it blows up. There’s literally just as many ways to properly budget build a 1.8t that’ll handle up to or more than 500HP ( 255-275HP easily offers a manageable and fun car ) and equally just as many ways to blow it up cutting corners with just 300HP or less ( Definitely Not wanted or Needed ).
Tbf those engines can take some serious power this is an old video but he was pushing 280 at that time from my memory then upped it close to 300bhp dynod too.. sold it now

I love how he knows everything when he has his phone.
No chance of 300 with that intercooler setup a good setup stage 2 car would make roughly 280 bhp and torque capped to 300 ibft to save the rods
More 260tbh a 300bhp one would eat 2nd gear a lot better
@@mrfishingfrenzy7079 my 337 stg 2 roasts 2nd with indy 500s
Have you done any internal work? I struggle to see 300bhp

@@VR6_SKC it goes off the clock at 160 so it’s fast enough 😂
That’s more 260 tbh a 300bhp one would eat 2nd a lot quicker
Is the driver having any back problems? Fabulous car tho!
Why back problems?😂 and he’s awesome car!
1.8t Neva Lose
très belle golf son très sympa
I wish I had a TDI my mk4 Jetta has the 1.8t but still makes 300 wheel
That’s sick!!! Dm me bro!
semi forged wheels?
Yes
2forge alloys, they are nice
And it will smoke one wheel without a LSD surely
Surprisingly handled quite well!
100-200?
Not sure buddy
Never done it so not sure
@@jakesmith8237 you've never gone from 62 to 124 mph? Interesting
more like 260bhp, noticed it still has the stock small diameter intercooler to throttle body hose too lol
300 at the flywheel and 260 at the wheels😂
