10:33 - On 12/03/2023, the "Kenya Dance" was finally solved as "Katonda Alinawe" by David SonJC. Thanks to Discord user 'damn peggy', Christmas arrived early in 2023!
13:15 - "Fond My Mind" identified as "Feels Like A Wish" by Station K
23:28 - The Kaufland recording of "I Keep on Running" has since been confirmed to be a different song than "Keep On Running" by Sixteen Hundred. u/ChineseBeeMovie contacted the drummer of Sixteen Hundred and they verified that u/Spino's snippet isn't their song.
26:22 - John Kricfalusi created the characters Ren and Stimpy in 1978 for "personal amusement"; and production of the series' pilot episode began in 1989 after Kricfalusi pitched and sold "The Ren & Stimpy Show" to Nickelodeon. Thus, this predates Nirvana's 1991 breakthrough with "Smells Like Teen Spirit", indeed making Kurt Cobain an unknown at the time his theme had been discarded.

it's surreal that panchiko is now touring and playing huge festivals
Whoa. That's so awesome!
Didn’t even know they had lost media, found them on Spotify
@@annanicole5494yeah, apparently someone found a badly degraded copy of the EP called deathmetal and posted a badly degraded recording of what was later discovered to be "Laputa" by Panchiko, but yeah, they were lost media for awhile
But really... "LIKE THE WIND" is an incredible song. I'm a massive 80s music dork and that's sorta my "special interest" - I dig deep for super obscure stuff. And I get chills with that song, it's such a vibe. That synth outro for real!
This was the first old song i listened to and I love it. Never heard of that genre before.
that song reminds me of U2
I would never think of U2 😂 There are so many bands that play similar music even nowadays but U2 is not one of them!
Have you ever heard of EBN OZN? No one else I've mentioned them to have, and I'd recommend listening to a few songs.
Apparently it just got identified but theres no evidence supporting it
I think its funny that Plastic Beach by Gorillaz is used as a picture for one of the layers, yet fails to bring up the actual lost original Plastic Beach album. Apparently its lost because Damon Albarn, the lead singer and cofounder for gorillaz, left his laptop with ALL the songs on it in a cab and never got it back. A few snippets of some of the original songs appeared in a behind the scenes documentary for the making of plastic beach.
Thank you for pointing that out, Seth. Sorry I didn't address this in the video. There were a few pieces on the iceberg that had to be removed for either pacing or lack of information. Unfortunately, Plastic Beach fell onto the cutting-room-floor. I really like Gorillaz (especially their Demon Days album), so it's a bummer, but that doesn't mean Plastic Beach won't get featured in a future video. Cheers!
Wait seriously??
Same thing happened to Adam Horowitz with The Hot Sauce Committee Part One but he left it on the subway
@@CWSchultzi used to have the whole album on my ps3😢 which i lost😮😮😢 man i wish i had that ps3 i had so many songs that were lost like 50 cent and many other songs that got lost during myspace changing their servers😢
@@truthseekersthenewomega97 Thanks for the comment. This is actually a very interesting point. How many supposed "lost" songs from MySpace are still in existence and unknowingly preserved on people's CD-Rs?
My question is why the hell would the first thing someone would think when watching a gore video is "yo this a banger"
I'm fascinated by Lost Music. I don't think my favourite band have lost music but I know other bands have lost master recordings which is the closest to the original you will get.
3 of my favourite bands have lost media.
Edit: I forgot to clarify those band are the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Weird Al
@@johnshoepackI also like The Beatles! Would like to find some their lost songs
I'm so damn fascinated by lost music. It's so sad to me that these songs could've been someone's favorite song once, they listened to it all the time, and now it's lost to the wind. Not to mention the work the creators must have put into these amazing songs, only for them to be forgotten in time.
Well put, Korrie! Thanks for sharing.
I’m honestly sad that Like the Wind hasn’t been found yet. It has such a nice vibe to it, along with pretty good lyrics (despite being in somewhat butchered english). I hope someday we’ll find the band who made it, or at least the full version.
I'm confident we'll find it eventually.
There is a full version tho
Not mentioned (I believe) here, but, I hope that Everyone Knows That gets found!!! Its been stuck in my head all morning, and its a bop for someone that is strictly a 2000’s emo listener
@@ISimp4FictionalAndEmoMenwe're all doing our best to find it, its tough but someone will find it
Be careful what you wish for. Maybe they will start copyright claiming every video and rom hack that uses this song…
As a kid, it would take me forever to find random radio songs on youtube, especially when using parts of lyrics as song names (usually for very popular songs so they were easy to find). I never realized I wasnt the only one who did this kind of thing
I found a mysterious song in 2005 but never even thought about uploading it and getting the internets help. My budy let me burn a cd of random songs that I wanted from his computer. Among them was a song I realized later was mislabeled as a Pixies song. 10 or 15 years ago I tried to google the lyrics but there was no sign of it. Still cold to this day.
Thanks for sharing! If you ever track down the old CD-R, please upload the mysterious song. I'm sure a bunch of people would like to at least hear it, let alone help identify it.
Please upload!
please update soon i’m interested to see where this goes !
Upload it!
I'm surprised "La Cancion de Alicia/Under the Stars" wasn't on here.
guess what.
Ready and Steady by D.A. was a fun story to follow. The only song on the billboard charts that was never physically released/broadcasted. But later on, it was revealed that it was an actual song
Yes! "Ready and Steady" is one of the favorite stories on the topic of lost media. If you haven't seen it already, I featured a segment on the song in this MYSTERIOUS MUSIC episode: ua-cam.com/video/9BqbnDwMNJ0/v-deo.html

12:14 "C.W. Schultz" is actually a joke meme that came about when somebody was trying to write "Charles M. Schultz", only to have their piece of paper upside down when writing the "M". Totally true fact and not something I made up on the spot.
No it's a cereal killer who wrote a lot of mysterious songs

In the 1990s Polish audio pirates Eurostar sold their cassettes massively in Eastern Europe, particularly in Ukraine. I specifically remember buying their compilation audio cassette Iron Maiden Collection' 90-93. There were two problems about it: one of them factual (four songs were taken from the 1986's album Somewhere In Time), the other one was more intriguing as several songs on the album sounded in the vein of Fear Of The Dark the song melodically - that is, they were more mellow, more synth guitar-alike. Was it just my teenage memory gone wrong or Eurostar people got some unknown masters or they changed the melodies somehow - I still do not know.
Interesting story! Thanks for sharing. Your post intrigued me, so I decided to do some digging and came across this release: www.discogs.com/release/9113697-Iron-Maiden-Collection-1990-1993
If someone who's more familiar with Iron Maiden's music and is able to get a copy of this particular release, and can confirm it contains alternate versions of their hits, then I think it's indeed possible that Euro Star might have some other unreleased Iron Maiden material.
@@CWSchultz Thank you for your response, sir! I must repeat though that perhaps it's just my poor memory.
I’m surprised the Mysterious Metal Song (Fall of the King) wasn’t on there
That’s a great song…. Hopefully the lead is still strong to find out who that artist is
@@coogan8825 on youtube?
@Coogan just search "unknown song the fall of the king"
As someone who produces music this is quite the interesting topic.
Something about this is very sad because these artists have worked probably hard on their stuff only for it to become lost and unknown unfortunately
I can't get enough of these vidoes. For ever Beatles, every Led Zeppelin, every Green Day, there is a band (or song) that maybe only got one or two plays in mainstream media, FM play, whatever. You might have heard it in passing but had no idea.
^This. Or also, think about all the great music that hasn't been preserved, and we'll never get a chance to hear it.
@@CWSchultz I used to burn CDs all the time. I had a ton of discs with all sorts of stuff on them. I had to "make room" and threw them all away without thinking about what I threw away. Lost cuts. Demos. Alternate versions. I still kick myself for that.
Thanks for the video! I hope I can contribute a bit by sharing the following:
It reminds me of songs from Supernova 2018. Supernova is the Latvian selection for The Eurovision Song Contest. Back in October 2017, for the 2018 season, they had an innovation in their selection process - 63 eligible songs were released online without the name of the performer, authors, or any visuals. People were listening to them via their app, and pressing the ''like'' or ''dislike'' button based on whether they'd like to hear the song as the Latvian representative at Eurovision or not. The anonymity was supposed to highlight the song itself, so that more famous singers and songwriters don't have any advantage over newcomers.
A combination of the public vote and the jury vote dwindled them down to 33 songs which later auditioned, and, of course, revealed their artists in the process. Even before that, based on the vocals and style of each song, people were guessing who the artists behind them were. Turns out, many of the guesses turned out to be right. Among the shortlisted artists there were heavy-hitters like Markus Riva and Edgars Kreilis, as well as new revelations like Sudden Lights and Madara. Some of them even had two songs in the mix, even if most had only one.
During the next weeks, other artists revealed themselves to be behind some of the songs, and many subsequently released their studio versions and even videos online, despite not being shortlisted for the semi-finals line-up. In the end, 56 songs had their artists attached to them, and most were available online. For years, some of them, including seven unclaimed songs, were available only in snippets on the rare ''My Top 63'' lists, while otherwise absent from the internet.
Meanwhile, a kind soul managed to retrieve them all, and currently, they are all available on You Tube. Despite that, seven remaining songs are never claimed to this day, and not even the most dedicated Supernova and Eurovision fans are any closer to who the performers or songwriters are.
These songs are:
*Backbone*
*Before and After*
*Love Blush*
*Over the Clouds*
*Tell Me*
*War of Flame*
*You Gonna Listen*
I hope that all of these songs get identified.
Even if it’s far in the future, I just want them to be identified.
I searched up "African Disc Rot Dude/Josh Laryea" and found some information. Josh Laryea seems to be a Ghanaian gospel singer who has 4 studio albums, 3 of which (1, 2 and 4) are well preserved. That being said, his third album Ye Tieta Wo So is not available online in a listenable form. Presumably he is not supposed to sound like Merzbow as this does sound like disc rot. That being said, it is weird judging by the fact he seems to be quite popular in Ghana and surrounding countries, especially since this was his third released album and well recieved.
Thanks for the info!

Yes! Panchiko is such a great band and their origin is so interesting. For my full video on Panchiko, please see: ua-cam.com/video/k1tAZ8ga0hw/v-deo.html
Not sure if anyone's found about anything about Sketchpad, but in the early-to-mid 00s I worked in a UK newsagent. There was a boom of free CDs being given away inside newspapers and/or their supplement magazines. Often you'd have some genuine bands at the start with some filler acts at the end of the CD - some of these filler acts were studio creations, sometimes by the same people
Good to know! Thanks for the info, Chris.
I'm Indonesian and I can tell you that Manis Studio is an Indonesian UA-cam channel. Thanks for the comment and taking the time to watch. I assume the reason "Everyone Knows That (Ulterior Motives)" or "La Canción de Alicia" didn't make u/UsrDeletedFromPlanet's iceberg is because neither song's searches had gained traction until late-2022/early-2023, whereas the iceberg was created before that.

I have a curious case of lost songs. I know the band and even have chatted with the lead singer of the band, but the masters, copies, and all the online presence of the song has been lost and I've been looking for it on and off for a few years.
The band is Slow Coming Day and the song is called Police and Paramedics.

23:28 Keep On Running by Sixteen Hundred was confirmed *not* to be the same song as "I Keep On Running" from Kaufland, although the Sixteen Hundred album is still lost and "I Keep On Running" is still unidentified ://
Thanks for letting me know. Is there a place I can read up on this finding a bit more? Maybe I can include a clarification/development in a future Mysterious Music episode. Has the band from the Kaufland recording been identified?
@@CWSchultz maybe someone else can provide some more details but from my knowledge, someone else went to a Kaufland towards mid 2021 and heard the song again and recorded it, there are uploads of the new extended recording of the song (still not the full song). It seems almost as if it ends right after the 'keep on running, running running" part so maybe it's just a jingle or commercial? As for the Sixteen Hundred songs, the actual recordings have not been found yet but the lyrics to their songs have all been found (either found online or provided by a band member-I do know someone had established contact with one of the members) Majority of the discussion on the Kaufland song takes place in the Fond My Mind discord server

Has anyone heard of the band, "Transcenders"? I've been trying to find their music as they were featured in the Mean Girls 2 movie and anytime I look for their music, I get dead ends.
Very interesting. Looks like they featured some notable musicians on the "Mean Girls 2" soundtrack; but, you're right, there's not that much else out there. The only other thing I may have found is that they're possibly the same Transcenders featured on the "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" soundtrack. Both movies are from the distributor Paramount. Perhaps it's a band that exclusively makes soundtracks for Paramount movies? Thanks for the mystery, Edgelordess!
Hi again! I found a bit more information on Transcenders. They have a Wikipedia article, here's an excerpt from it:
"Transcenders is an American full service music production company established in 2002 by Brian Lapin, Terence Yoshiaki and Mike Fratantuno."
I think C.W schultz is a very smart and handsome man
(No homo?)
Holy crap I didn't get a notification but holy crap an iceberg? this is gonna be fun watching
Glad you're excited for new content, Tony. More to come. Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for watching!

bruh filthyfrank made us find a lost song
I heard zazumi and my goose boose fan brain went OFF
Lol, nice! Goose Boose's video was a huge help on my research for Zazumi. However, I beat Goose Boose to "La Canción de Alicia". 😉 ua-cam.com/video/xXVQ2PkkOD4/v-deo.html
@@CWSchultz Ah, I haven't actually heard of you before watching his video on that, it made me more interested in lost music and such.
@@unauthorized_thing Great to hear, Kerbo! So many excellent songs and musicians that are unknown.
@@CWSchultz true that!
11:19 Finally, the way you pronounced "Urusei Yatsura" in previous episodes was bugging me, haha.
The 2nd most mysterious song is referencing to Fond ( or Found) My Mind!!
I actually love the sound of this one and want it. Very reminiscent of things like Depeche Mode or New Order but really reminds me of Latin Rascals with songs like Arabian Knights
i think like the wind is actually by joy division however is a demo / unreleased or even both- a demo of an unreleased song (a demo as in the song quickly done to see how it truly sounds)
Damn, I did not expect Chryzantemy Złociste here. 😂 It was so popular in Polish Internet culture back in the day... But because it was so popular I never realised that authors were unknown for some time. Like.. I didn't know who made that song, but I just never bothered to think about it and never looked it up. So, I didn't know that it was a mystery. 😅
Also I got a bit surprised by Dir en grey inclusion, but I shouldn't be. I'm their fan since 2010, but I heard about a fake song just last year. I never found a single mention about this song in any Polish site and my English was not good enough, so that's probably why.
Anyway, very interesting iceberg. Good job. ❤
Greetings from Warsaw where I came just to see Dir en grey live again. 😊
Greetings from Seattle! Glad you enjoyed. I appreciate the comment. Thanks for watching!!

Thank you, Buzz! I've pasted this to the pinned comment and gave you a kudos there.
Well the kenya ff song was identified and it was on yt since 2011
Yes, what a great find. Definitely a highlight of 2023. The pinned comment has additional details. Hoping for more identified songs in 2024!
There should be an iceberg based off how much is known about each song.
24:32 the way u read that is so funny
Josh Laryea is a Ghanaian gospel singer whose album "ye tietia wo so" had an upload on spotify that was so bitrotten it was basically noise
I just took a listen. It's definitely bitrotten, but you can hear just enough to be intrigued to want to hear the real thing. Good find! Thanks for sharing. How did you stumble across it?
@@CWSchultz i heard about it because it's kind of a small meme on Rate Your Music

great job!
I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the video, JEVIL! Thank you for the kind words and taking the time to watch.
Morbid fascination is getting the better of me here, but is there still a link available for Raspberry144mbs' song?
Not sure, but here's the link to the (now deleted) post by Raspberry144mbs. Even though the post is 2 years old, it was only deleted in the last 3 weeks! www.reddit.com/r/Lostwave/comments/iltl5k/this_music_is_in_the_background_of_a_gore_video/?
where's everyone knows that?
Great choice for an outro song man. I love this will be the last time by zoom
28:52 holy jesus on a cracker! I was actually thinking if MCR has any lost media, such as Pierce The Veil’s old music before the band name change, and here we are! Although, I am confused a bit, since Gerard Way, the lead singer of MCR, has said that he started MCR as a result of 9/11, and the him feeling that his comic career is consuming him in a negative way. (Also, note: I haven’t watched past the time stamp, so my questions may be answered)
If this is about what I’m thinking it’s about, they do have a lost album, The Paper Kingdom. Only one song is found from this album, the first track on their greatest hits album, “Fake Your Death”. It’s a really good song I absolutely love it
Bruce Springsteen is also known for lost music… may you do an episode on him
🤓the nerd in me is here, but Nirvana was already a somewhat established name when this allegedly happened in 1992 (they formed in 1987 and already had a hit underground album named Bleach in 1989). “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Nevermind was already beginning to get decent airplay and sales then
I appreciate the comment. To clarify, John Kricfalusi created the characters Ren and Stimpy in 1978 for "personal amusement"; and production of the series' pilot episode began in 1989 after Kricfalusi pitched and sold "The Ren & Stimpy Show" to Nickelodeon. Thus, this predates Nirvana's 1991 breakthrough with "Smells Like Teen Spirit", indeed making Kurt Cobain an unknown at the time his theme had been discarded. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Since this is the second time someone mentioned this, I'm going to add a clarifying note in the pinned comment. Thank you for the feedback.
@@CWSchultz okay, np
I saw a song go away and become lost myself:
Last year I saw a video "Number 0 to Absolute Infinity 2.0" by Mathis R.V: I could identify each of the songs except for the last one, which is my favourite. To this day, everything I know is that it's from a russian video comparing sizes of objects by user Serg66260, but idk if it was made by him for the video or it exists on its own. Also, one of the tracks was very mysterious "Morning Love" by Shahjahan Shamim, got deleted shortly after I found its name and I cannot find it anyway, perhaps its lost media now.
EDIT: I extracted the tune from the video (and by sheer luck it is the full track and high quality) and reuploaded it to SoundCloud, luckily I knew the name from finding it when it was available, otherwise I would have needed to use a placeholder name
Tbh making PSA’s scary to make the message clear would totally not work and instead make horror movies look like crap
I heard this song a few days ago. (6-5-2023) I'm no genius but I have no idea how it remained a secret for so long as I found it pretty quick. Anyway here is the info on it. Kind of sad to see it solved but on a positive note maybe the band will come forward. I really like the song and have it on my phone.
Song title: Volcano
Band: Sudetenland
Release date:17 October 1984
Fake and gay
Next time I'll be in the list, I promise
I thought you were joking when you said that the creator was called "Usrdeletedfromtheplanet" but he's literally Usrdeletedfromtheplanet
There is one mysterious song, but the problem is that I only remember the music video and not any how the song actually sounded. But I remember the guy sang in Spanish for the first half of the music video, then the video rewinded and he resang the song in English. It was a music video in the early 2000's on BET that played on a special music video comp program that never played again. I know that the prison version of "They don't really care about us" by Michael Jackson was also on this program.
I believe like the wind has been found it was sung and played the drums and bass guitar by Christian brandl and rest played by ronnie rocket there is a video by a austrian band who knew them saying so. Though I doubt this comment gets seen
More mysterious songs ever
