There are so many things that I love about Saw 6. All the traps are super fun, creative, and intense. The trap plot and trap player, William, are the best in the entire series. William has a personal connection to Jigsaw, so it makes sense why he’d be targeted. It sucks that he died because he definitely learned his lesson since he was sympathetic towards the people he encountered in the traps. And the cop plot was cool too. The way they get so close to finding out Hoffman is an apprentice via little things like the scalpel he uses to cut the jigsaw pieces and decoding the voice was so intense, and I love the short action sequence when he kills all the police in the room, something we had never seen before, and they didn’t go overboard with him being a killer like in saw 7

This franchise has been a guilty pleasure since Saw III, but love what they've done with Spiral & Saw X! Definitely makes me excited to see the directions they can go in the future!
My ranking from best to worst: - SAW (BEST) - SAW II (Best sequel) - SAW III (Original trilogy is best) - SAW X (Great legacy sequel with original trilogy vibes) - SAW VI (A great climax to the second trilogy) - SAW IV (For the prequel content for Jigsaw) - SAW V (Feels like filler but Hoffman prequel content was okay) - JIGSAW (Average) - SAW 3D (Terrible) - SPIRAL (Cant even remember what happened, which is worse) In short, by coincidence or not, the best ones have Amanda in it (I, II, III, VI and X)
Why Saw 6 is so underrated it’s one of the best movies in the franchise, really like the carrousel trap. Loved Saw X as well, kudos for not only bringing Tobin and Shawnee back but also fleshing out more their characters this time around
Saw VI is my second favorite now after Saw X. I like William as a character. I like the entire concept of the game and how each trap thematically represents the flaws in his policies. The Shotgun Carousel is iconic. The acid trap was brutal and I love Devon Bostick. The steam maze was also really cool. I cant even say the other traps are bad. They were all somewhat interesting. The scene with the audio recording and Hoffman killing the cops had some tension building. The ending was insane with the acid trap and the reverse bear trap back and forth. A lot of people dont like Hoffman, but it cant be denied that he was pretty badass in Saw VI.
Saw 1 still ranks so high because of my reaction to when i first went to see it. That ending made me feel like I walked out with white hair. But i agree with you. Once you've seen it and on rewatch it has pacing issues. Saw 2 is my first favorite. Saw X is at second place now. Saw 1 would be at third place. Great video my friend.
As a horror fan I'm so glad that we're now getting so many great movies, both original stories and continuations. Not all are great but it just goes to show that when a fan favorite character in a beloved series is in the forefront the movie will succeed, I love that Saw X. I also love that Saw X makes us really feel for John Cramer and makes us really see things from his eyes. It's also a lot more clear to me know that the reason I like John's traps way more then the other's is that all of his traps have a way where they can win them, it really adds an argument to his "I don't kill people" mindset. He's such an interesting character.
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed Saw X. It felt like an actual movie and it was nice to see more of John Kramer and I like how the traps weren’t as dragged on if that makes sense. It wasn’t about the traps as much but more about John. Even during the blood water boarding scene when the kid took some of the damage was so interesting to see in this movie.
Hey Cody, love your ranking videos! With the saw series, my lowest two are spiral and jigsaw and my top 2 are saw 6 (in first place) and saw x (in second place). Even though our opinions are different I love hearing your thoughts and your different perspectives within the franchise
As a point of reference, I don’t think there are any terrible movies in this franchise. In my opinion, all of these have a certain amount of merit to them. Just keep that in mind 10. Saw 3D: The Final Chapter-While I think there’s an interesting concept with the game that Sean Patrick Flanery is playing, it’s a lackluster closure to the original run of these films that’s so desperate to sell tickets that they had to use a 3-D gimmick 9. Saw V-Aside from liking the actual game, which has no connection to the Agent Straum versus Detective Hoffman shenanigans, it starts to feel like a franchise running out of steam, which doesn’t make for a particularly fulfilling experience 8. Saw VI-There’s definitely several interesting ideas with the “policy” of an insurance company, but because this is in the Hoffman era of the franchise, people that are part of traps with no choice have to die, Hoffman can magically get away with everything, and the lore has gotten so layered with so many twists, investigations, flashbacks, plot points, and characters that it’s very convoluted 7. Saw IV-While this is the movie where the quality of the franchise took quite a bit of a dip with James Wan and Leigh Whannell not being part of the creative process anymore, I still enjoy the lesson being taught to Rigg, some of the flashbacks of Jigsaw’s backstory, and the multiple twists at the end of the film 6. Jigsaw-Despite appreciating that this movie tells a stand alone, self contained story that has a beginning, middle, and end, it just kind of feels like Lionsgate found a five year old script that was written in 2012, and decided, “You know what? Let’s do another Saw film!” 5. Spiral: From the Book of Saw-I understand how this movie simply feels too disconnected from the rest of the franchise for Saw fans to really care about this one, but I actually enjoy this film because it feels like more of a back to basics approach to this franchise that functions more as a Saw spin-off than a Saw sequel 4. Saw III-A pretty solid addition to the franchise that changes up enough of the pieces of the first two films to have an interesting emotional aspect between John and Amanda, the tests that Jeff’s put through about forgiveness, and my favorite Saw trap in The Rack 3. Saw-Despite having some weak acting and the budget holding it back a bit, it’s a very good psychological horror film that uses its script and small scale instead of trying to be overly elaborate and hyper violent to make for a satisfying experience 2. Saw II-A rock solid sequel that takes everything great about the original, and builds upon it by having a more streamlined story, a significantly bigger budget, a better, more engaging lead, and a good bit of room to have Tobin Bell shine as John Kramer/Jigsaw 1. Saw X-Other than a couple of flaws that just come along with this franchise, I thought this was a pretty great Saw film that has all of the ideas, gore, and twisted plot points that makes this franchise interesting and incredibly addictive, but with a lot of emotion and depth that comes from John Kramer being the lead, which took this movie to the next level to be the best Saw film in my mind
The game in Saw V was a means for Hoffman to set up Strahm as the third Jigsaw accomplice in front of Erickson, allowing him to continue operating in the shadows. That's what John meant in that flashback when the told Hoffman he was granting him "anonymity", and that everything would be clear in the end. The only movie that had its main two plots vaguely tying into each other, if at all, was Saw VI. Even in Saw VII, the popular pick for worst one in the franchise, Hoffman set up those racists to be killed around the same time Bobby's trial began in order to split up and dissuade the IA investigation team, giving him enough time to infiltrate the headquarters were Jill was held. I conversely didn't quite understand what did Rigg do to deserve the trials in Saw IV. Yes, he was desperate to save as many lives as possible, but isn't that what one would expect out of a cop? I never thought he was deserving of facing these life/death scenarios, just a quick lesson in self-restraint, that's all hahaha. I think his test was merely designed to get rid of the remaining members of the investigation team from Saw II, and force a contrived means to carry on with the storyline after Saw III. IV holds up the least on its own, in my opinion. closing thoughts: I welcome the Spiral appreciation :D
Great job ranking. I also have to give you credit for eating your words and being pleased to do so at the secret screening. Skipped ahead because I haven't seen Saw X yet but I will do so soon. Thumbs up to this video.

saw 3d was shit I can discuss spiral or jigsaw being lower but VI and V c'amon man all the 3d shit in 3d and ending (an innocent woman dies in brazing bull) and twist was so obvious. Plus It ruins the first film for me why the hell gordon accepted the philosophy of jigsaw. He doesn't have any reason at all. You can't put 3D higher than V and VI. thats just cruel.
@musmamaa I forgot everything that happened in saw V and VI I dint think it was memorable, saw 3D I felt had some memorable moments and tbh you could make the argument to swap saw 3d and saw vi around but I don't like saw V
Pretty good tier list, i like your opinion about every movie, mine would be this: 10.- Spiral 9.- Jigsaw 8.- Saw V 7.- Saw 3D 6.- Saw VI 5.- Saw X 4.- Saw IV 3.- Saw III 2.- Saw 1.- Saw II
The pink blood in Saw 3D was done to hue correct once the 3D filter was added, otherwise the blood would appear dark red instead of scarlet red. Also, apparently Spiral was ruined by censorship. There WAS a Skinning Trap planned for the body we identify as Shanks- with his face never shown, but we do see the shirtless body- where the tape uses double entendres to confess to the murders. Unfortunately, the MPAA declared that showing a man getting slowly skinned alive was too much for an R rating. In the process, Spiral's ending became obvious because they couldn't hide the fake death effectively anymore. Which is a shame because the idea that a copse getting so badly mutilated from a trap that only the tape and a tatoo can be used to identify them is pretty clever. It's just unfortunate the execution was botched thanks to the censors.
MPAA is so annoying. Hope we can get a cut that has the stuff that wasn't allowed in theaters. Although i am not sure how that works tbh. I don't know about the red tape involved in releasing those cut scenes.
For me personally the gore wasn’t the biggest issue with spiral, the biggest issue was how god awful the acting was and how obvious the twist was, they basically spelled it out
6:47... "You took my Starbucks order so I wanna play a game." Imagine if Jigsaw actually started kidnapping anybody to wronged in any little way such as cutting him off in traffic or overcharging his restaurant bill or giving him the middle finger. He puts him all in his twisted games.
I know a lot of people really hate the idea of an anti-hero in the sense of the villain becoming the protagonist but Saw X does SUCH a good job of flipping the script. I genuinely did not want a single character to make it out of their trap and actively rooted for their demise. It was a fun departure from the regular formula! I’m also a big fan of group games. Besides Saw X all the rest of my top in the rankings are based around a group trap and I just find that type of interaction so much more fun. I completely recognize Saw V is not the most well made film, but I find it extremely entertaining and re-watchable. My rankings are really not so much worst to best but least engaging/entertaining to most enjoyable to rewatch. One note: I don’t think Spiral is bad, I think it’s one of the better made films, I just think it’s kind of boring. 10. Saw 3D 9. Saw IV 8. Spiral 7. Saw III 6. Saw 5. Saw II 4. Saw V 3. Jigsaw 2. Saw VI 1. Saw X
Part of the point of Saw 6, it to show how sadistic Hoffman really is, and his lust for power and feeling in control when feeling like he's Satan when he's punishing his victims. John Kramer knew that, and that's why John used Jill to test him at the end.
I love you liked Spiral as much as you did. I love that movie. Incidentally, it was the first movie I saw in theaters after they were reopened during covid. I was so excited to be in the theater again so it holds a special place in my heart .
This is why I love the Saw franchise. People have different opinions on where the films are ranked but will respect someone else's ranking. Like Jigsaw is my least favourite of the franchise but like you said Cody it's direction is better and as a standalone it works
I've been a hardcore fan for years. My new girlfriend had never seen one but looked up the timeline and has set up dates to catch up on the entire franchise starting with the original and Saw X both on my birthday, this past weekend. We're taking a week off before Saw 2 because of how brutal X was. I'm excited to see where X-2 or 11 or whatever they call it goes. It's fun getting to watch someone else discover this series, with a fresh set of eyes in chronological order of the story, not how I got to experience it the first go-round.
As soon as you said Saw II for second and I knew Saw X was first I almost shed a tear 🤣 When there's a movie franchise that I really love and care about and it does well, especially after ten movies and especially among people who don't care for the franchise much, it makes me feel almost like a proud Mum as if I worked on the movie myself 😂 Knowing that you can be a harsh critic on this franchise and seeing how much you loved Saw X is so refreshing and I'm happy to see you making so many Saw videos. Can't wait to see this upcoming rankings next! Off topic but will you be back reviewing the new Chucky season this week?
I love Saw VI. The only Saw movies I like more than VI is 1, 3, and X. I think I'm the only one that thinks 2 is merely just about fine because the gore isn't as insane as the ones after 2 and the story of the 1st one is the only one I take seriously, after the 1st one I'm there to see the plot get as silly and ridiculous whilst still being completely straight faced completely zero tongue in cheek, if they started winking at the camera I'd stop watching, and to see the extreme pain, suffering, body horror, horrifically brutal mutilations, and maximum gore. V is my least favourite one because the electro bath and the bomb room are way too tame I want brutality damn it. VII and Jigsaw are mid, a couple of the traps in VII were tame, and Jigsaw had cool deaths in it, like, no, the deaths need to be sickening, grotesque, and deeply upsetting, the only one bit like that is when she gets injected with acid. I need more traps that disturb me to my core and make me squeam with discomfort like the rack, the hair trap, the acid trap, the needle pit, 10 pints of blood, the pendulum, the eye trap, the finger trap, the tongue trap, the wax trap, the sound trap, the bone marrow trap, the brain trap, and the reverse bear trap.
I feel like my opinion is completely different from yours😂 I haven’t seen saw X yet, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. My ranking: 9: Saw 3D 8: Jigsaw 7: Saw III 6: Saw V 5: Saw IV 4: Spiral 3: Saw 2: Saw VI 1: Saw II Can’t wait to see the newest movie, I’m so hyped for it
i’m glad you said saw 5 was boring bc it 100% was, it was literally just a feud between a good cop and bad cop. the randoms in the traps as the side plot was better then the strahm vs hoffman story
I've heard you talk about the innocent woman from saw 3 with the shotgun collar trap. Remember, that's the guy's wife. She also lost the child and in result of her depression she was having an affair with a work colleague. I find she was just as deserving to be apart of the same game. Just from a different aspect.
It's nice to see some love for Spiral! I was surprised when I saw so much hate for it. I mean, yeah, it may be predictable and the traps are not the most memorable, but I still had a really fun time watching it!
Great ranking Cody I only see the first three saw movies and Spiral but I seeing Saw x tomorrow and I excited to see it and I excited for you guys 31 on 31 this October
For me it’s 1. Saw II 2. Saw X 3. Saw VI 4. Saw V 5. Saw III 6. Saw IV 7. Saw 8. Spiral 9. Jigsaw 10. Saw 3D I’m a big fan of the hoffman saga personally (4-6 at least) and i love how deep and convoluted the lore gets with those movies. For me saw VI really felt like the perfect conclusion to the original series and saw X is a perfect counterpart to those original 6.
I’m pretty sure the Pink blood for Saw 7 has to do with the 3D files that get sent to theatres. They put a slider thing in front of the lens of the projectors when showing 3d so it makes the screen look darker. Due to it making things darker studios will make that file a little brighter to compensate for that so it doesn’t look really dark and colors still pop so that could be why.
I really hope they do what Halloween does and makes a new timeline that just keeps saw, Saw X, and saw 2 and then retcons everything else after and make the new bags focus more on John and Amanda and less on cop plots and meat bag cannon fodder characters.

I know it might not be a popular opinion, but i really dislike the traps having a timer if we're supposed to be more empathic towards Kramer. In saw X, I felt like both the girl cutting her leg and the guy doing the lobotomy paid the price jigsaw had for them, yet they still died. I know jigsaw isn't meant to be fair but the fact that a lot of saw fans believe so just gets me.
Cary Elwes is so bad once he gets emotional. He's fine before that. Surprised you dont mention how bad Danny Glover is. He's laughably bad towards the end.
Since you brought up Carey Elwes, I’m now picturing an alternate universe where Jigsaw is actually Fletcher Reed torturing his ex-wife’s new husband Jerry.
Great review & yes you are correct, the blood in Saw 3D is pinkish due to being in 3D which is already tinted brighter but on top of that they tried to color correct the movie & pink blood was the result.
One issue I have with the franchise is how much they stretch Jigsaw's apparently clairvoyant understanding of the human mind. It gets to the point where it's literally "I knew this exact person would stand in this exact spot at this exact time, and set a trap for them." The only other explanation is that he had traps for literally every possible contingency, which would be even sillier.
My ranking: 1: Saw 8/10 2: Saw X 7.5/10 3: Saw II 7/10 4: Saw III 6.5/10 5: Spiral 6/10 6: Saw VI 6/10 7: Jigsaw 6/10 8: Saw 3D 3/10 9: Saw V 3/10 10: Saw IV 3/10

@@bobcobb3654Jig Saw morales have never made any sense in the series and I don't know why fans bother to debate his actions the character is clearly just insane. He's just on a revenge spree because he's angry he got cancer and that his life sucked he's an insane incel lol.
6:41 Even by Jigsaw's twisted logic his test for Rigg didn't make sense. "Stop saving people. Let them save themselves."
This franchise has been a guilty pleasure since Saw III, but love what they've done with Spiral & Saw X! Definitely makes me excited to see the directions they can go in the future!
Yes!!!
My ranking from best to worst:
- SAW (BEST)
- SAW II (Best sequel)
- SAW III (Original trilogy is best)
- SAW X (Great legacy sequel with original trilogy vibes)
- SAW VI (A great climax to the second trilogy)
- SAW IV (For the prequel content for Jigsaw)
- SAW V (Feels like filler but Hoffman prequel content was okay)
- JIGSAW (Average)
- SAW 3D (Terrible)
- SPIRAL (Cant even remember what happened, which is worse)
In short, by coincidence or not, the best ones have Amanda in it (I, II, III, VI and X)
For me:
10.) Saw 7
09.) Jigsaw
08.) Saw 4
07.) Saw 5
06.) Spiral
05.) Saw 3
04.) Saw 10
03.) Saw 6
02.) Saw 2
01.) Saw
Other than Saw 7 and perhaps Jigsaw, I've enjoyed every entry in this franchise to varying degrees.

Why Saw 6 is so underrated it’s one of the best movies in the franchise, really like the carrousel trap. Loved Saw X as well, kudos for not only bringing Tobin and Shawnee back but also fleshing out more their characters this time around
And saw 6 has the best trap plot and trap player in the entire series
It’s the very best one
Those are my same top 2 and bottom 2!
Saw x rn is my favorite in the series
Saw X was shockingly good
As a point of reference, I don’t think there are any terrible movies in this franchise. In my opinion, all of these have a certain amount of merit to them. Just keep that in mind
10. Saw 3D: The Final Chapter-While I think there’s an interesting concept with the game that Sean Patrick Flanery is playing, it’s a lackluster closure to the original run of these films that’s so desperate to sell tickets that they had to use a 3-D gimmick
9. Saw V-Aside from liking the actual game, which has no connection to the Agent Straum versus Detective Hoffman shenanigans, it starts to feel like a franchise running out of steam, which doesn’t make for a particularly fulfilling experience
8. Saw VI-There’s definitely several interesting ideas with the “policy” of an insurance company, but because this is in the Hoffman era of the franchise, people that are part of traps with no choice have to die, Hoffman can magically get away with everything, and the lore has gotten so layered with so many twists, investigations, flashbacks, plot points, and characters that it’s very convoluted
7. Saw IV-While this is the movie where the quality of the franchise took quite a bit of a dip with James Wan and Leigh Whannell not being part of the creative process anymore, I still enjoy the lesson being taught to Rigg, some of the flashbacks of Jigsaw’s backstory, and the multiple twists at the end of the film
6. Jigsaw-Despite appreciating that this movie tells a stand alone, self contained story that has a beginning, middle, and end, it just kind of feels like Lionsgate found a five year old script that was written in 2012, and decided, “You know what? Let’s do another Saw film!”
5. Spiral: From the Book of Saw-I understand how this movie simply feels too disconnected from the rest of the franchise for Saw fans to really care about this one, but I actually enjoy this film because it feels like more of a back to basics approach to this franchise that functions more as a Saw spin-off than a Saw sequel
4. Saw III-A pretty solid addition to the franchise that changes up enough of the pieces of the first two films to have an interesting emotional aspect between John and Amanda, the tests that Jeff’s put through about forgiveness, and my favorite Saw trap in The Rack
3. Saw-Despite having some weak acting and the budget holding it back a bit, it’s a very good psychological horror film that uses its script and small scale instead of trying to be overly elaborate and hyper violent to make for a satisfying experience
2. Saw II-A rock solid sequel that takes everything great about the original, and builds upon it by having a more streamlined story, a significantly bigger budget, a better, more engaging lead, and a good bit of room to have Tobin Bell shine as John Kramer/Jigsaw

And the pink blood was like to make it look red in 3D i think
saw 3d was shit I can discuss spiral or jigsaw being lower but VI and V c'amon man all the 3d shit in 3d and ending (an innocent woman dies in brazing bull) and twist was so obvious.
Pretty good tier list, i like your opinion about every movie, mine would be this:
10.- Spiral
9.- Jigsaw
8.- Saw V
7.- Saw 3D
6.- Saw VI
5.- Saw X
4.- Saw IV
3.- Saw III
2.- Saw
1.- Saw II

Great video. I love hearing you talk about Saw! It was the series that started my love for horror, and you’re one of my favorite UA-cam creators.
Hey Cody, Amazing ranking!! Saw X at the moment Is my favorite as well. Left the theater last night and was just amazed, happy as hell.

Oh hello, Saw X ruled. Just wanted to share that.

How can Saw X be N1....

I've heard you talk about the innocent woman from saw 3 with the shotgun collar trap. Remember, that's the guy's wife. I’m a big fan of the hoffman saga personally (4-6 at least) and i love how deep and convoluted the lore gets with those movies. For me saw VI really felt like the perfect conclusion to the original series and saw X is a perfect counterpart to those original 6.
Oh wow we have identical rankings. Good taste
you have to be kidding me you PUT saw OG movie at 7 dumbass
"Saw 1" seven rank x) habit People of shit make them like it
I’m pretty sure the Pink blood for Saw 7 has to do with the 3D files that get sent to theatres. They put a slider thing in front of the lens of the projectors when showing 3d so it makes the screen look darker. Due to it making things darker studios will make that file a little brighter to compensate for that so it doesn’t look really dark and colors still pop so that could be why.
I love your vids sir. I’m also trying to emulate that haircut you got sir. What do you tell your barber?
I really hope they do what Halloween does and makes a new timeline that just keeps saw, Saw X, and saw 2 and then retcons everything else after and make the new bags focus more on John and Amanda and less on cop plots and meat bag cannon fodder characters.
Do you plan to review James wan's Death sentence soon I recall you saying it's massively underrated and after having seen it myself I loved it and would love to hear what you enjoy about it so much

Been waiting on this one! Thanks Cody!
Great video 😊 Loved your list. Saw 2 is personal my favourite.

Cary Elwes is so bad once he gets emotional. He's fine before that.
Surprised you dont mention how bad Danny Glover is. He's laughably bad towards the end.
You have to admit Hoffman getting what he deserves at the end of 3D was satisfying, because he was just a complete a$$hole.
