Tobin bell is 82 and honestly looking at him I would think that he was in his 50's also I literally just finished watching Saw X and absolutely loved it!
Hardworking moving man has kept his looks and wits. Even at 62 he could've had a dummy stand in for him lying in the bathroom playing dead for the whole movie but he dedicated himself sm to this franchise. It's really Tobins baby.
The first movie came out on Oct 29, 2004, it doesn't feel like it. At this point, Saw franchise has became a cult classic favorite, everyone knows this film, it shifted the dynamic of the horror genre by creating a film that's associated with a puppet and a deadly game. Genius!
James Wan is one of the 2 to actually want to go away from the Saw Films, even Leigh Wannel when he did Invisible Man, said the kills in that movie was more elegant then "a dude sawing his leg off."
@@TyRave I get that. When all don't want to be typecast do the same films over and over again. But if it were not for the Saw Short film and Saw feature film, they would not even have a career in film which lets face it in a bad way in 2024 because of the recession.
surprised Tobin actually laid there on the ground for the scenes that showed him lying on the ground. Figured it was a fake body to make sure you didn't catch it breathing, impressive!
The fact that these guys were in college and conjured this film up is truly philosophical and intriguing. They introduced a whole different approach to the horror genre and that's why this franchise stood out and became so legendary. It wasn't just about blood and gore. I also love how they treated the films as a continuous series that connected so well. It was so brilliant! It just kept the audience wanting more and more over the years! The first Saw movie has probably one of the greatest twist endings ever. I remember seeing this movie in a theater and omg what an incredible experience. When the ending came around and John Kramer got up from that floor the whole audience was screaming in shock. Then when he stepped out of the bathroom and shut the door while Adam was screaming everyone started cheering and clapping. An experience i wish i can go through again! Its funny how this film was created on such a small scale with a small budget, but the irony is that it had such a huge impact on the world with just the start of that one low budget film. Incredible.
Been there since the beginning. Such a huge fan of the series and seeing James Wan and Leigh Whannell bring SAW to life from being film school friends was very inspiring for me as a younger guy. It's been a wild ride with this series, and it has been great celebrating its 20th anniversary this year

I remember watching SAW when it first came out in 2004. Had no idea what it was. i heard its just a small indie film. then it became an instant classic. modern horror movies have zero imagination or creativity, but this 1 was scary, creepy, with a great twist at the end. 20 years... i feel old haha

Saw will always be my favorite horror franchise I can’t believe it’s been 20 years. So happy that James Wan and Leigh Whannel created that franchise and Billy the puppet
For a moment there even when Tobin was explaining his character’s motivation etc in the movie, it almost kind of sounded like he was hinting that people in real life don’t appreciate their lives. Kind of chilling but funny at the same time because he’s obviously an actor and not a life ender etc. Lol
The first Saw movie is the best out of the entire franchise. Certified classic. It’s got the mystery/thriller element combined with horror/gore. Great acting by the cast as well. Love the first movie
I like to think of John Kramer/Jigsaw as a violent Batman. He is a vigilante that like to deal out punishment to those who do morally wrong things or bad behavior in general. Jigsaw has a lot of money, can create a whole bunch of contraptions, has sidekicks and can outsmart everyone in this universe.
I am literally distracted every time Tobin talks in this because that voice is so iconic to that character. I know actors HATE being pigeonholed to one thing, but I am sorry, Tobin is John and always will be. Can't hear that voice and think of anything else.
This is kind of surreal. I only just remembered right at the very end of the video I’ve been seeing Adam in that room in my head for a week or more. Simply because I’m going through a terribly difficult time, thinking to myself I’ve got to get out of that room somehow. And the awful thing about life is some of us don’t get out. Which again, reminds me I’ve even thought of doing my own cut of Saw and using all the bathroom scenes and making it look VHS, but I’m not where near that skill level yet.
One person missing that absolutely should have been a part in this panel was Kevin Gruetert. His editing played a huge role in every Saw film until he was finally asked to succeed David Hackl (Saw 5 is severely underrated because it provided the backstory for Hoffman becoming the accomplice) and direct 6 and 7 (And XI). Without his editing as well as Charlie Clauser’s score who knows if we would even be talking about this movie and franchise becoming as iconic as it has become
Please come out Saw XI soon, but on the other hand Saw was the very first horror movie I watched let alone all the way through but when I saw a short snippet on TV in 2004 when it was coming out on DVD and the very first time I was watched this movie was with the light on and door cracked ready for me to make a run for it but I watched all the way through and my interest grew from there.
