Just do your research, most of these flow through mufflers have a horrible drone out on the highway at around 2000rpm, especially if your pulling a trailer

I have an '07 2500HD cat eye 2wd 6.0. I've got catless dual exhaust with 18" Magnaflows. The tailpipes are angled down behind the rear tires with shirt 4x8 rolled edge tips. It sounds amazing. It also has an intake and is tuned.
If you get a clean one they are great trucks

How does the exhaust tip change the way it sounds?
Larger tips give the exhaust a more throaty sound.
@@kethen4053 sometimes too big of a tip will create a “clapping” sound from it cause the exhaust doesn’t scavenge correctly

@@YungJackie22 well when I had straight pipes it actually didn't clap that bad when I didn't have tips on it. When my like 5 inch tips were put on it made it clap all the time. I think the tips only help clap if you have straight pipes tho
The larger and longer tip such as an 18” gives a trumpeting effect which will make it sound a little deeper.

I got the same truck but an 03 2500hd single cab long box just but my truck came factory true dual in single out exhaust just picked up 2 flowmaster fx should sound good 👍🏼

Mine has Dual 3" from the manifolds to a Dual 3" in Dual 3" out muffler, i'm contemplating Flowmaster 12599-FM (Codename: FlowMonster), that should be a weld-in but direct replacement to my stock muffler.
I'm wondering about this Flow FX muffler, is it essentially just a glasspack (with the round shape, i'm thinking this) or how does it look peeking through?

I got the same truck but without cats and and two flow fxs and it is very loud but mellow when cruising
@@Skyguy-hy1it yeah I ended up putting 2 3” in/out on my mustang and it sounds absolutely beastly. I also put a 2.5” on my 2020 Ford Ranger. Sounds great and not raspy (it’s a turbo 4cyl) Nice and deep honestly. Hard to accomplish with a 4 banger😜

Muffler itself isn’t too expensive on this one. Jus find a good shop for labor. Or do it urself ofc. I jus ordered the flow master, jus so I have it. I’ll find a shop when I can lol😂😭

@@oshkomontes7594 6.0’s straight piped will clap even with cats. If you don’t like that then put on mufflers, my truck had no cats and super 10’s but it was still incredibly loud
love the sound of these but i dont want mine to be that loud, could i put 2 of these, one after the other on a single exhaust to tone it down just a little?
Do a single with no tip to start, that large tip really adds to the sound

Boy I wish your shop was in philadelphia....Anyways in need of immediate advice before I end up selling & regretting it...I have an 06 cateye with 6.0 gas true dual. It started clogging up cats on left side only so ended up eliminating both cats on left side into cherry bomb vortex of which the left side of muffler stated rattling = the force on left side blew it out ...bought another & same...so went with these Flow master fx after watching this video & fell in love with that aggressive tone & uniformend rumble, unfortunately mines does not sound at all as good this one..for one mines its as loud as 2 hellcats fighting one another, & only the left side has this popping fluttering sound that makes it sound like a helicopter or a heavy chopper I also installed muffler silencer & resonated tips to quiet it down but that did little justice....please help... also just recently noticed that the the shop used 2 1/2inch pipe instead of 3inch that is from factory...will that make a difference? Thanks
Install an H or X pipe, that'll merge both sides together to smooth out the sound and smooth the flow, increasing scavenging and improving power. Separate duals are basically 2 4cyl engines fighting each other, not good.
