As someone else who has a boosted towing Silverado, I agree with everything you've said. Stock (small) cam/converter is the way to go when using them like a truck.

I have an 06 chevy sileverado 6.0 wt looking to turbo have any links to a turbobkit?
I buy a t4 log and build everything else.
Do you think that 7875 will work well on a 5.3? I have a 2007 NNBS Silverado with the LY5 and I have that turbo (On3 7975 .96 AR and 3 inch V band). I was going to purchase a 70mm turbo for the 5.3 but if I don't have to, I won't. Do you think the turbo I have will work well for towing?
Yes, the 7875 will work fine on the 5.3, it will actually take you further than it would on a 6.0.
@@MPKPerformance thank you. I could never get a straight answer for this question. Like I said, I was about to order a 70mm turbo for it but if I don't have to, I won't. I also have an LY6 for the truck just in case the 5.3 gives up the holy ghost. Not looking to make all the HP. Just all the TQ. Truck is mainly a cruiser, hauler and tow vehicle. Thanks again!
We had that turbo on a 4.8 in a crew cab, it made 500whp on 10 psi.
@@MPKPerformance nice. That's good to know. How much power did it make at 10 psi?
The 4.8 made 475 whp on 10 psi.
The 6.0L made 480 whp on 10 psi with lots of backpressure, but it also made 535 ft lbs.
What ar. On the s480 would you recommend for a 6.0
I think the vsr 80mm is a t4 turbo with 83x75 with a 1.10. If you go with a 7875, get a 1.25
@@MPKPerformance yup I’m going with the 7875 1.25ar. Thank you!
My 02 1/2 ton on 20s n 33s stock 3:73s extended cab with a cammed 6.0 swap is going through similar issues the power is not down low at all 2600 stall it feel like a turd as a daily needs a lot of throttle to get movin I haven’t tried to tow with it yet. And I have a Texas speed stage 2 225/236 629/615 114LSA 660 springs on 317 heads
Yeah, that duration is shifting the power higher in the rpms. I've run the summit high torque cam with good results. 212/218 .600/.585 on a 110.
You could always regear if you don’t want too go boost, 4.88 gears would do your truck justice
We just swapped a 4.8 from a stage 2 turbo cam to a summit tq cam and it made all the difference in the world. It has 200/205 with .550 on a 113. The crew cabs don't need the duration a lighter vehicle does.

Injector and fuel pump?
Red truck has Deka 80's, and 525lph. Qs has Holley 100# and 450lph.
Did you run a hotwire kit? 525 pulls alot of amps.
What fuel do you run only thing available in my area is 87 octane and diesel no premium unless I drive 45min to nearest city and all they have is 91octane and it's ify if they even have that at times😬
I run pump 93. If you only have 87, just tune for 87 and start lower on the timing.
