Thanks for this video. Have Lemon Balm growing wild in my front yard ( it grows in shady spots). I've often wondered if it could be used in a tea so now that I've seen this, I'll definitely try it. I will give you a caveat though,..... Lemon Balm will take over a garden space so keep it pulled back and try to contain it if you can. It's like mint in that way.
Not trying to push anything. I suffer from anxiety as well. Tried LOTS. But… Last year was reading Bible and had a thought (message?) saying anxiety attacks are spiritual attack warnings. You’re surrounded by enemies. Read a section of Bible trying to calm myself after breathing and other exercises didn’t work. It said roughly if you believe in Christ you can call upon Him to send legions of angels to battle these spirits. If the spirits are to much for his angels, specifically call on Christ to battle. Not sure of what I was reading. Wish I could find it. Anywho, I pray that. It works FOR ME. Maybe it will for you. If not keep searching. Anxiety sucks.
I adore lemon balm. I make homemade lip balm with lemon balm infused oil from my garden and it’s the best. It’s amazing in tea, everything. The smell is intoxicating!
First tried it few days ago in the evening and experienced complete relaxation but not sedation. I was laughing at some comedy show that usually I kind off laugh inside most days. Great video. Love your scientific approach. I have atypical depression, ADHD, and PTSD. I have been drinking chamomile for a decade and while I like it, I think lemon balm works so much better. I tried it once in a CBD drink that also contained lemon balm that I bought at a store. I think that the lemon balm does most of the calming and mood lifting for me. I take CBD oil and it never makes me feel like that by itself. And I take multiple prescriptions for anxiety and ADHD. Thanks to lemon balm and chamomile I don't have to take my anxiety meds nearly as much, only a few times a week.

Hi Chad, do you have a video on how you were able to heal from gut issues? I went to a foreign country for mission last year and ever since, I have IBS-D (which I believe). and I don't want this to keep going for years and years. Any help is appreciated, God bless your ministry!
I don't have a video on parasites. I will do one some day. Here is a study that showed that dried papaya seeds can be helpful for intestinal parasites. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17472487/ If you do it don't overdo it. I have a video series on the gut brain connection but it is not on parasites. It is on anchorpointfilms.com
Take a tsp dose of gum turpentine with 1 tsp sugar in a shot glass of warm water. Any parasites will be gone. May need to do it for three days, but mine were gone overnight.
I really like your channel and hope you keep it up I like your objective approach and style that's my honest opinion. It might happen that the "alertness" is being potentiated by stress potentiators like adrenaline, cortisol, noradrenaline might be being detected and self reported as becomimg "less alert" when lowering systemic cortisol. Would be interesting to investigate cortisol for people who have issues with constant keyed up states of nervousness.
Question is ; how many lemon balm leafs would equal to 300mg? For now, I just buy the tea bags. But I would like to grow my own lemon balm for my anxiety. But I don't want to over do it. So how many leafs 🍃 would you recommend to make a cup of tea.
There's some other videos where they make tea with as little as two leaves. I'd say start with two and if it's not strong enough for you, go up to three or four. Just pick them, rinse thoroughly, place them in the cup and pour over hot water!
Problem with these scientific studies that you are mentioning is that they are using an extract of the plant and not the whole plant like god intended. You probably would never have a problem with making tea from this plant and drinking it daily. You could have, tho I doubt it as lemon balm has the highest safety rating, a problem taking too much extract. Sometimes science is not our friend.
I loved the smell of that perfume, too! That was a great issue of National Geographic. When you were talking about it, I could smell it again. Did you like the Cleopatra one, or the other one?
@@KittyCurioso here's the information for the article. Cathy Newman. Perfume, the Essence of Illusion. National Geographic, October 1998, pg 111 It had a little fold-out page with the scents of two perfumes, one supposedly of Cleopatra's and one of Napoleon's. I would realty like to hear about your gut problem.I have anxiety and I believe it is coming from my gut.It would give me anxiety when I would eat something and I always felt my gut aching when I would get anxiety. It has progressively gotten worse. Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated
I have the same problem. Go and see a gut healing specialist. It’ll be money well spent. Things like full fat Greek yogurt, papaya, lemon water, buy a good probiotic etc.
I know for certain my anger and anxiety come from my gut. I too can feel pain and/or pressure down there, followed by waves of the negative feelings. A few years ago, I was having sanity-destroying anxiety that went on for five months of hell. I figured out that the bananas I was eating every day were causing it. I have SIBO, and I think the bacteria were doing something with those bananas that drastically increased my usual anxiety to nearly unbearable levels. I stopped eating the bananas, and away went the terrible anxiety.
@@emkay4960 I went through severe gut issues and intestinal pain and crippling anxiety. It’s not just bacteria causing these things, it’s intestinal parasites. I found out I was loaded with worms in my intestines causing these symptoms like yours and started taking every anti parasitic herb to kill them and the dead worms started coming out in pieces and my anxiety improved and I no longer have gut pain like I used too. I can even drink milk again now that the parasites are mostly gone, and I was lactose intolerant prior to my parasite cleanse. Bad bacteria harms the gut too, like lyme disease bacteria is everywhere and I have that too in my gut, but the worms are what really destroy the gut and brain health. Kill your parasites. Black walnut hull extract is very anti parasitic. Good luck.
6:04 here is the thing though. For some people with adhd or other similar issues need something to bring our alertness down. The source of our anxiety, as an adhd person, is being to alert in the first place. So as long as it slows me down but doesn’t make me a drooling zombie that’s exactly y what I’m looking for at the least for sleep. It seems like the 300mg would be a morning dose or 300 for the morning and 300 before bed
It will most likely work totally fine with a capsule. Since we slowly seek sustainability, we try to grow things and share info on how to grow remedies. Blessings.

I have anxiety and just pinching the leaves, I could feel being relaxed and relieving my anxiety
I actually started using it not for depression but because of its anti-radiation anti-cancer property.
Watched a video by Dr Michael Greger with his research on it as was intrigued.
It's such a nice mini farm you have for yourself.

Glad it was helpful!
Just as a reference, what would 300 mg of extract be in tea form or dried leaves? Thank you :) Just got some lemon balm, dried some of the leaves, and the tea was very pleasant, and had some sort of slightly noticeable "nice" effect on my mind, it seemed.
Can you please link the study?

Hi Chad, do you have a video on how you were able to heal from gut issues? I went to a foreign country for mission last year and ever since, I have IBS-D (which I believe). and I don't want this to keep going for years and years. Any help is appreciated, God bless your ministry!
I don't have a video on parasites. I will do one some day. Here is a study that showed that dried papaya seeds can be helpful for intestinal parasites. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17472487/
If you do it don't overdo it.
I have a video series on the gut brain connection but it is not on parasites. It is on anchorpointfilms.com
@@HealthAndHomestead Thank you for responding! I have been tested twice for parasites and its negative. But Ill try the papaya seeds. God bless :)
Take a tsp dose of gum turpentine with 1 tsp sugar in a shot glass of warm water. Any parasites will be gone. May need to do it for three days, but mine were gone overnight.
Probiotics !
High dose probiotics helped me. 100 billion cfu daily for a week
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome!
Thanks. That is an interesting point. You may be onto something. That would be interesting to have further research on that to find out.

Question is ; how many lemon balm leafs would equal to 300mg? For now, I just buy the tea bags. But I would like to grow my own lemon balm for my anxiety. But I don't want to over do it. So how many leafs 🍃 would you recommend to make a cup of tea.
Sam here, I just bought a plant the other day at my local nursery and will be using it and want to know how much to use to make a cup of tea.
There's some other videos where they make tea with as little as two leaves. I'd say start with two and if it's not strong enough for you, go up to three or four. Just pick them, rinse thoroughly, place them in the cup and pour over hot water!
I'd like to know how many leaves I can eat to equal 300-500 mg but can't find anything that states that.
@@shannon4078 dry it out and weigh it.
@@shannon4078the studies he cited were made using an extract, not leaves by weight.
Extracts im lookign at say 1500mg extract, but I dont know how strong the extract is. What does the article say? Need to get the right one.
And sometimes science is paid to lie. Just ask Pfizer and Moderna....💉💉💉

Look up on Rosemary herb and how to make tea out of it. UA-cam do have couple videos on Rosemary and benefits.
I loved the smell of that perfume, too! That was a great issue of National Geographic. When you were talking about it, I could smell it again. Did you like the Cleopatra one, or the other one?
Wow, you remember it also! To be honest I don't remember which one. I just remember it smelled amazing.
Do you remember what it was called?
@@KittyCurioso here's the information for the article.
Cathy Newman. Perfume, the Essence of Illusion. National Geographic, October 1998, pg 111
It had a little fold-out page with the scents of two perfumes, one supposedly of Cleopatra's and one of Napoleon's. I remember the article being very good and interesting as well. (I was ten at the the time, and very interested in herbs, flowers, and plants in general.) You can still buy copies online, but whether the scents would be intact after this long is hard to say. It has progressively gotten worse. Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated
I have the same problem. Go and see a gut healing specialist. It’ll be money well spent. Things like full fat Greek yogurt, papaya, lemon water, buy a good probiotic etc.
Also, theanine and magnesium for relaxation.
Good luck.

Who knows about the effects on the thyroid !??
I took it in a supplement 2000mg and shortness of breath as well as palpitations
Wow, glad to know. I did not know that. Thanks for sharing.
Did you ever create a video regarding how you healed your gut?
Yeah, i mean is everything. That's for everything there is
would it work in capsule form, instead of tea?( I could powder it and put it in a capsule) My husband doesn't like hot drinks or lemon...
It will most likely work totally fine with a capsule. Since we slowly seek sustainability, we try to grow things and share info on how to grow remedies. Blessings.
@granit osmani Hello. Have you checked with your doctor that your chest pain is not caused by heart disease/angina? I would not rely on lemon balm for chest pain. Work with your doctor on that. But if it is angina research has shown that angina can be reversed in 90% of people in 24 days by going on a total plant-based, low-fat diet. We have a cookbook with this on our website anchorpointfilms.com - only eat the recipes with the T in front of them which stands for therapeutic. Here is a video showing the research on angina nutritionfacts.org/video/plant-based-treatment-for-angina/

The class of drugs known as hypnotics actually do numb the mind and is what many people need. As long as it is during sleeping hours, that is fine. Ambien works this way. I have never tried it, but my wife needs it.
Just a mention, if people have thyroid issues or taking antidepressants you can't use it.
How about if you have no thyroid just take meds?
