@@livslibrary Yay! There’s some good ones out there. All it takes is just one book! I need you to get me into fantasy and I need you to love a historical fiction 😉
This year I've branched out way more into thrillers, a tiny bit of fantasy, and more contemporary reads (which the thrillers usually are) and I've realized that I'm a historical fiction girl at heart. I've read so much WW2 fiction, which I think burned me out on the genre but there's so much more to it and I'm excited for this!!
I know what you mean. It’s good to branch out but sometimes you just need to go back to the genre you love most. Hope you pick up a historical fiction book you end up loving - it’s the best feeling!
Yay! I am ready to be in a historical fiction mood! I have The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali ordered through the library. It's taking a while, but maybe it will come by November.
❤📚📚❤️ My November tbr is full, but I want to read at least one historical fiction... and my Buzzword (the word is Only) challenge book is Only the Beautiful by Susan Meissner. So, I'm in.🤗😄😉
Yes! I may pick up Only the Beautiful too because the one I was going to read for “only” doesn’t have an audiobook available for me. Hope we both enjoy it!
Love the bingo board design! I have some historical fiction I know I'm planning to read next month, so I will definitely be seeing which prompts they'll fulfill.
Movie adaptations and based in true events are Irenas Children, and the Ruta Septys one set in Siberia, but the movie is a different title than book. Also Hidden Figures. A newer book is Mrs. Morganns Bookclub i think is title. Based on true historical women figures. I also just read True Sisters, by Sandra Dallas about a true mormon emigrant journey to Salt Lake City, Utah. The author is not mormon, but it seemed pretty unbiased about the resilency of this pioneer group and the challenges they faced. I just visited Utah so it intrigued me!
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks feels like the hybrid prompt to me. I really enjoyed and was totally fascinated by that book
I still think about that book. It was insane.
@@Bookworm_Bron Good rec! I unhauled that one recently but maybe I shouldn’t have.
I have that one, too, but I thought it was straight non-fiction.
I’ve really been wanting to get back into historical fiction going into next year, but this might be the push that I need! 👏🏻

I love this! I’m in!
I am so excited for this!
@@LaynasBookshelf Me too! So happy you joined this year. 💕

@@GloriaZThompson I was able to pick up The Briar Club from a local used book shop for $6.50 so I'm excited to read that in November.
@@heatherdegreeff1092 great find!
I was sure I would have to wait for a used copy since it's a recent book, so I was shocked that they had one. Yay for me!
Looking forward to it!

@@sandra3616 I’ve heard good things about that one! Hopefully it’s a hit.
@@GloriaZThompson Me, too. I haven't read her earlier ones, but likely will if this one goes well.
Awesome. A friend of mine just recommended The Briar Club to me so I might have to join in for that. 😊💙
@@BookwormAdventureGirl I second that recommendation! I think it’ll be your kind of book.
Found your StorGraph and joined in. Put some books on hold at the library including Crow Mary from last year that I missed.
Thank you for joining! Crow Mary was a great read and would work for many of the prompts!
Ooh, love this. I’ll definitely be joining in.
Thank you for joining! Should be a fun reading month.
yay!! Yes so excited!!
Ben Hur and The Book Thief also have adaptations!
Yes, thank you! Added those to the list.
❤📚📚❤️

@GloriaZThompson Yay!! I hope so, too! 🤗👍
The Warmth of Other Suns is a great choice for Historical Fiction/Nonfiction hybrid! Also, the last green valley! I'm excited to join!
Thanks for sharing those recs! I own both of those so will be thinking about my TBR.
The hybrid i wonder if follow the river would qualify
I have never heard of Follow the River but looked it up and it sounds so good! Have you read it before or is it on your TBR?
I’m in! I’ll probably track on StoryGraph.
Yes, it’s my favorite place to join in on reading events. They made it so user friendly and easy.
Fates and Traitors by Jennifer Chiaverini may be a hybrid about the life of John Wilkes Booth
Yes I've heard a lot of her books are very true to the historical facts and would work great for that prompt.
Historical Fiction is one of my top genre's! YEAH! I have The Briar Club, haven't read it yet!😊 I think Hazel Gaynor's bks. would fit this, do you?
Perfect opportunity to join in and read it! I’m sure some of Gaynors books work for a lot of the prompts we have.
Love the bingo board design! I have some historical fiction I know I'm planning to read next month, so I will definitely be seeing which prompts they'll fulfill.
So glad you’ll be participating! Hopefully our prompts are broad enough where many books can work for them.
@@GloriaZThompson It looks like it. I know one book will count for 2-3 prompts for sure.

Thank you for all these suggestions! I’ll make sure to add to the Goodreads list. I totally forgot about the Ruta Sepetys book.
I'm not usually a historical fiction reader, but I will see what I can find to enjoy so I can at least participate!💓
I don’t have the knowledge to know which classics are technically historical fiction, but I’m sure there are some good ones out there!
@@GloriaZThompson now that you say that I’m actually reading Kristen Lavransdatter so that would count!
Good
🎉🎉😊
Are you liaising with the folks who run Historathon, which is reading History books all year?
Question would a book like Before We Were Yours count for the hybrid prompt? Or is it a non fiction book like maybe Unbroken by Hillenbrand?
I think Before We Were Yours would count because it is heavily steeped in true events!
