Great list, thanks for sharing. I'd suggest Gore Vidal's The American Chronicle Series, starting with Burr. Vidal is a great writer and equally great historian, especially of American history. I appreciate that many of the books you recommended are written by women. Thanks again. Tyler

I read 3/4 of "The Circle of Women" and couldn´t finish it. I felt so opressed by the story and atmosphere, It was depressing but well written

I love Margaret Atwood. The woman writes poetry, fiction and just about anything she fancies and it is all good!

Hi Karla! I have read and loved Alias Grace, Lady Tan’s Circle of Women, Their Eyes Were Watching God, and House of the Spirits. I’ve added the others to my recommended reading list. Glad to have found your channel!

What a wonderful video! I read Wonder by Donoghue and loved it. Pull of the Stars sounds like a read for me. I’ve been so curious about Davies’ work.

As an aspiring nurse, I’m intrigued by fictional books that have to do with medicine!

Oh that’s so cool! Have you read The Butchering Art by Lindsey Fitzharris? It’s non fiction but it’s not dry at all. It’s all about surgery in the mid 19th century in the UK and also the story of Joseph Lister, one of the first to discover germs and the use of carbolic acid during surgery to prevent infection. His legacy is Listerine!
