Who are Vulfpeck and who's Joe Dart? Search on UA-cam and you'll love their great music!
Outstanding tutorial. No "hey guys!", nice tempo steps, great tab. Just right. ... I mean left.
Thank you so much! Very appreciated!
Most inventive comment ever
I see what ya did ther
😂🙌
When I set out to learn this I really didn't think it would be possible. But hoooly shit bro. It's all coming together. Thank you, thank you.
Calvin Crisp I just nailed this one today, and it’s a really fun song to play once you get the hang of it. You feel very accomplished doing so I must say.
ikr its like a huge solo
A gift to the bass playing community. Thanks man.
Im 13 and I’ve mastered this song. Thanks for the 90 beat
I can't tell you how amazing this tutorial is. The different speeds are so helpful. I became such a better bass player because of this tutorial and song. Thank you!
I only clicked on this because it's Joe Dart. Being a right hander, I thought I couldn't learn anything from a lefty. How wrong I was. In fact its easier as your bass is mirrored which makes it much simpler to follow what you are doing. Cheers mate.
BEST tutorial , truly outstanding.Perfect tempo, great tab size
This feels so good when you start getting it down
Best tutorial Ive seen, thanks so much and I'm nearly there at 110 bpm. I've played for decades and have lazy habits and a rarely used weak little fretting finger so exercises like this help me play properly! Joe Dart always said work on timing with a metronome and I guess that's how he's come to become so flawless
Thanks so much for taking the time to post this. Great work & much appreciated.
Thank you very much, so happy to read these words :)
Thanks so much for having the transcriptions for this and the other vulfpeck tunes available on your patreon. Much appreciated and I will donate on it as soon as I am financially able.
Very kind from you, thanks a lot!! 😄😄
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a video like this for Teen Town , Weather Report. I can manage to play Dean Town quite comfortably now at the original speed thanks to THIS tutorial. Thank you Lefty Bassman
Fantastic video, my dude! This wasn't as hard as I imagined it would be, but definitely a few tricky spots.
Thank you much!
This is much appreciated thanks for taking the time. Keep groovin my man!
thank you for the lesson! and thank joe dart for having fun with my bass after a long time again!
man you deserve so many hundred thousand of subscribers, your job is just amazing. Thats an awesome gift to the bass community, keep going (plz haha)
Thank you very much, these words keep me going!
Thanks a lot man, I was trapped in little spots and you helped me figure it out. Sweet!
Hey man, as a "small" guitar player thanks for your video! It was extremely helpful in pairing the rhythm to the right notes.
You a lefty like me.
I play a right handed bass and love it!
Great work with the tab and playing!! A great piece to build skills with!
Thank you, do you play lefty with a right hand bass, or you are lefty but play right handed?
@@LeftyBassman I am right handed with writing, but felt more comfortable playing guitar left handed, and have done for years. Now learning bass so use a right handed bass, but hold it "upside down" and play it as a lefty. Always feels more natural and also reading tabs feels intuitive.
I was born as a lefty but made to use my right hand to write with. It was a common thing in the 1970's.
Thank you so much for this! I did my own music sheets from the original recording already, but this helps me a lot to see where to play the licks. Thanks again
Thanks for this! Love the format! Subbed.
Really liked the video. It was very helpful. Keep em coming.
Thanks for doing this! Very helpful
Thanx for all your fantastic tutorials, all the way from South Africa..
Thank you so much!!!
Huge thanks for putting out this video! The slow progression is so damn helpful. Also, I was just about to request Conscious Club, but then saw in the comments below about your video "7 vulfpeck bass lines". I found Conscious Club there. Liked and subbed. Gratitude!

akhan07 did you learn it?
imagine playing the 70 bpm part on 0.25 speed :')
Exactly bruh except I've started on .75 speed
did you learn it
@@imgonnabuss yes and no. Can't play it clean at full speed but ok a few bpm lower. I just say I'm playing the Live From Here version.
You my friend are a god damn saint! thanks so much man!!!
well done. note for note!
Yeah Nice!
And thank you to did it slowly, it helps!

Well done mate! Thank you!
It's amazing, thank you so much! If you have a patreon or something like that I would gladly pitch in to help you keep going!
Thank you so much! Yes I have the Lefty Bassman patron page where you can download for free all the tabs in pdf or guitar pro format!
wow tnks for this!!!!!
thanks !!
This is realy heplful. A little hard to read the fretboard, because you're a left-handed, but slowing down the beat is very helpful. One thing to correct, the interval on the lick's first part at the end is not 1/2 - 1/2 but 1/2 - 2/2 on the D and G strings.
Yes you’re right, I made the corrections in the 7 Vulfpeck bass lines played slowly 👍🏼👍🏼
nice!thankyou
great playing!
+S T thank you! 😃
thanks man.
Thanks!!
Thanks man
excellent,, merci pour cette précieuse leçon
+reis e merci beaucoup!
Gracias!!
great job!
Thank you! :)
Very helful ! thks !
gracias hermano!!!!
Very helpful
Olov Svedjeland Ödlund thanks a lot!
Hey man,
Great job, just one observation is the very first note you play in the first lick,eb on the d as your 1st note but I think the first note is c# on the a. Thanks for the upload
great!!
thanks !
Great!
finally a right side bass player,I mean left I mean my side :)
We are the normals!
I don't suppose you could flip your vids for all us righties :D
Great tutorial, thanks ^_^
This is confusing to me, why would you want it flipped? I only ask because I'm a lefty, and whenever I show righties how to play songs they say learning from me is easier, it's like playing to a mirror.
Thank you so much for this video! Took me about a weak to play it on 70bpm,...
Come on. You will be stronger mate!!
thanks a lot from Spain as many others I am lefty but I play right hand bass ....
Your cover with tabs is by far the best I found on UA-cam. Many thanks mate !
But it's hard (at least for me) to follow the tab when watching he video and playing along. Could you add a link to download a PDF or something like that so I can print it ? It would be great !
I know I'm so sexy and you can't follow tabs... :) Seriously, yes, you're right, I'll be doing that but please give me some time.
Thanks a lot mate! Very appreciated!
Good good good !
Now bass tabs in PDF and GP mode available on my Patreon page, check link in the description
Great tab and cover. I think (and this is not my catch, I've just been comparing all the tabs and covers I can with the stems and original in a quest to actually learn this piece correctly) that the double stop near the beginning of the riff is not the same notes twice. The second time the bottom note moves up a half step so it's a perfect 4th. So the first one is D# A like you played, but the second one is E A. The bottom finger moves up from fret 1 to 2. This is extremely subtle and I didn't notice until I listened really closely to the stems, and even compared it to the stem of Woody playing the riff at the end. Woody wrote this song so he definitely knows how it goes, and it sounds like he doesn't even play the top note the second time, he plays D# A and then just E to accent the movement.
You know what? I think you're right! Great observation! Thank you so much!
Yeah bro, no worries. Glad you're cool about this and not offended. I've been studying this riff hardcore lately and now realizing I was playing a lot of wrong notes, not just that one. All the subtleties of it are blowing my mind.
@Hgmidd god damn you i thought i was the only one who spotted this - But atleast now i know i was correct about it. It's also funny there are NO videos on you tube where anybody plays it correct.
Thanks for your tutorial. Awesome job!
After learning it, I have to say that the hardest part for me is the 16th notes part. It seems easy, but it's very difficult to maintain consistency.
16th notes are the main enemy of every bassist, I hate them!
+1 on that.
Epic
hey another lefty! nice playing.
+sub kilohertz oscillations thank you lefty mate!
I didn't get a notification for this! and somehow I didn't subscribe after leaving the comment. Subbed now. I figure we gotta stick together, haha.
it tooks joe darts to play effortlessly
Thank you. I love that jam. Can’t get it out my head ya kno?
😅😊😊😊
Anyone know if there's a run through on the next bit of the song? the bit where joe just kind of riffs?
dude!!!! u da man! \m/
Thank you!!
haha A lefty!

My fingers were bleeding at the end of the gig, just like jack stratton said

110 bpm: ua-cam.com/video/hAn-DWwHu6E/v-deo.html
my fingers are burning
Keep on burning! Another Fabio like me!
This has been very helpful. Thanks a lot!
I have a question: Which drum machine are you using?
You’re very welcome! I’ve used a Logic Pro X drum set
@@LeftyBassman Thank you so much for the quick answer! :D

Hi, thank you very very much for this great tutorial !! Very good idea the different BPM; I also play on RB GK … can you tell me about your settings ?
I sold it, now I have a Aguilar Tone Hammer. The RB GK was the best head I've ever had, I think I let the Eq flat. I never needed to adjust, even when playing live... The only issue was the weight...
This is excellent! Any chance you could share the backing Track? That would be so appreciated.
Check my Patreon page and you’ll find it! Link in the description.
If you like this type of music, you may like ours!
I can get through the whole thing if I set the speed to 75% first ;)
Almost there...
Never give up!
