Good honest review Chris! Well done! :-)
Can't say I'm keen on the subscription plan. :-(
Just an FYI - the auto scan function that goes through all the available addresses is common with all OBD scanners. Very curious why it found faults for systems you don't have...that's really odd. Also, be aware that when you first run a scan, you may be seeing faults that are not really faults. Meaning, they may have already been sorted or repaired in the past, but technician failed to clear the fault. So when you run your first auto scan, clear the faults, drive the car for 10-minutes, and then run another auto scan to verify if the vaults are still valid or not.
Be aware the "extra features" will be different between models and model years. For example, my 2007 Roadster will have far fewer options than at 2013 TTRS; e.g. needle sweep is not an available option for my 2007.
As with any OBD scanner, be sure to record your address long codes before you make any changes. Once you make a change and save them, there's no "undo" and you can really screw up your vehicle.
1.) Does it require internet access like the OBDeleven in order to function? Or is it stand alone like Ross-Tech VCDS?
2.) How to you get a copy of the auto scan report? Can you export a text file?
3.) Is the Carista software specific for VAG codes or is it a generic OBD scanner?
4.) Do you know if it can perform Adaptations and Basic settings? These are a 'must do' feature when replacing most of the electronic devices in the TT; Roof Flap Servos, HVAC Servos, Climate Control Module, Throttle Body, etc.
5.) Can you comment on the Cariata's Customer Support? Do they have a FAQ page, User Forum or a list of faults, problems and solutions like Ross Tech?

thanks swiss 👍Carista OBD2 Bluetooth Adapter and App: Diagnose, Customize and Service your VW, Audi, SEAT, Skoda, Nissan, Infiniti, Toyota, Lexus, BMW, Mini. As you use your phone with this you will have a internet connection but you don't need one only to go online and find the fix for the fault which carista takes you too if you pay the subscription. I don't see anything on the app to save any data too.

It shows the fault with fault code without a pay subscription and live data is for certain vehicles so check first, outcome it is better than those old hand held devices that costed thousands

Hey Chris do you have a cover that means you can’t see into the boot? I can’t seem to find any details about that anywhere online yet it’s crazy everyone can see in.

The coming/going home lights option would't have been there before the Carista app turned/coded it on unless it was turned one from the factory.

@@CarChris82 but then you can still keep it to make customisations to your lights for instance during the year (headlights going in or out of the car make more sense during the winter months for instance so they can be off during the summer, can't change these on my 2008 without OBD 🤷). These remain available for free. If a dash light goes on you can then run a scan pay for a week pass and find out what's going on before taking it to the garage. I think it's the most reliable and better developed OBD tool. The TT is a nice car. If people can't spend £24 on the kit and a bit extra when required they shouldn't be driving a TT.

That is true.but you can do that without carista using the menu already.its a obd tool that can't tell you the problem without paying for it .my point is that for around £25 you could find scan tool that will show you the problem without a subscription.as I said some people might like it I just think there is better things out there 👍
