Hey, your videos are very informative. Thank you. I have a question can yoou recommend a OBD Tool for a Vovlo s60 2016. I want it for diagnosis purpose and coding. And please no subsciptions and additive costs if it's possible. Thank you for your effort.
what is the difference in-between the blue VEEPEAK you have in this video compared to the new shape black VEEPEAK BLE model I find for sale now everywhere on the internet?
Hello, I am not sure maybe it uses different ELM327 chip but cheap blue one I have works without any issues for all apps anyway so. When I try the more expensive one I will make review :)
If you have a thinkdiag can you continue using the tool without the subscription for cars that aren't coming out new after the subscription expires or do you have to pay that just to use the tool at all even on the cars you have been using it on? I don't need a monthly bill. I'd gladly pay for updates we're needed but a monthly bill is just not for me. I only need one here and there
If you mean Launch X431 Pro 5, go for it. The Thinkdiag is actually software from Launch and after trying Thinkdiag, I wouldn't be afraid to go with any Launch scan tool.
Obd11 is perfect for VAG cars if not for the subscription. Its cheaper in the long run to just buy a vcds cable and sure it’s not as user friendly, but you’re not locked behind a never ending subscription.
I think it is different for everyone. If you work on more cars, the VCDS is better, but if you need to work with 1-2 cars you can use Free OBD11 to diagnose. You still can use credits for few changes on your car if you dont need to code a lot.
@@iamcarhacker I agree, but having manual coding behind a yearly subscription is a problem if a pre-created credit option is not available for your car. I cannot justify spending €50 for using it once. A smaller subscription for a week or month would be more value, as I don’t see them stopping subscriptions anytime in the future.
Hi Veepeak+Car scanner app ($25) is enough to diagnose faults. but I am not sure about coding. I don't have much experience with American brands, but I heard that they don't have much if any coding options.

The Carly was the worst money I ever spent on a tool in general. What a garbage product. It basically relys on marketing hype to sell and is only in it for the single transaction. I would go as far as calling it a scam. Used it once and it takes 5 plus minutes to fail at connecting to anything.
Really grateful that I came across this video. Very well done, straight to the point. Great video
Thank you hope it helped.
Great video
Great video for us just starting with OBD scanners :) For BMW cars which is one is better between VEEPEAK and OBD11 for ECU coding purposes?
Ur channel is like a hidden gem , thanks for all this information ❤❤
Glad you think so!
Great overview! Thank you!
Thank you!

How about a rundown on the XTOOL A30M. This is the one I'm most interested in and would like to know more before I buy.
I don't have it but if I buy it I will make video
wgich is cheapest to do keys/fobs on japanese/korean cars ?
Comparing Thinkdiag 2 with that elm327 based devices is like comparing tank with mini cooper 🤦🏻🤣
Well they have different level of functonality, but they are all Bluetooth OBD scanners under $200 so it is reasonable comparison in my opinion.
@@iamcarhacker Except ThinkDiag 2 is more like a Techstream dongle. J2534 is TOTALLY different from simple Bluetooth OBD.
That's why the difference.
thanks for retroactively justifying my purchase
which one did you get?

Yes you have to pay every year otherwise you can use only basic obd functions (similiar to engine code reader)
Hi do you advise purchasing the Thinkdiag 2 flashed to the X pro 5 software.

Yes i recommend
How do you do this?

Does thinkdiag 2 have same customisable features as obd11 for audi cars?
Yes but only with coding, no one click apps
Hi can you suggest an app and a scanner device for RAM 1500 2015 model for coding and stuff with minimal spend.

i was thinking to buy Thinkdiag2 cause i more complet but i didnt like too much cause one i am not profissional and 2 too big..
Check XTool A30, it still has some advanced features and comes without subscription. And is smaller than Thinkdiag2 but it doesn't do ECU coding.
@iamcarhacker does obdlinkmx+ do ecu coding ?
@@hasoonysoony3383 obdlink app doesnt do it, but obdlink adapter can do ecu coding with third party apps like Carista or Bimmercode
@@iamcarhacker is it safe to use obdlinkmx+ with them ? Im planning to use it with toad pro and do ecu coding
Diag 2 its too confusing to use xd dont recomend to buy either you need to pay a subs of 160$ per year to keep using xd
You completely missed the fact that J2534 isn't at all the same as ELM-327 ;)
I never said that.
obd11 is very good.
Yes agreed
CARLY IS A RIP OFF.
Stay away from Carly. Horrible company to deal with and not a very good product.
Agreed 100%
