I liked that piece at the end there where he mentioned that Dalaran, despite being destroyed over and over again throughout the lore, was always there for the heroes of Azeroth when they stood against Azeroth's most dangerous foes. It was... poetic. And it made me remember all the good times I had playing this game. (Vanilla to the end of MoP). The lore was always one of the best parts about this game for me. Thank you for this video and RIP Archivist Hayven.

I god damn love Dalaran. I started playing in Wrath, and it's where I really "grew up" in wow.
I was so SO happy it came back in Legion, and even more happy they gave us a hearthstone to it. Even with BFA in full swing, I go to Dalaran at least once a day...mostly for allied race rep gains but I still visit the warlock order Hall from time to time.
I love Dalaran, even though it still becomes Lagaran from time to time.
I saw a few videos of yours. To be honest, I am impressed. The content is very good, how deep you go in your videos in order to explain it all properly and the way it should be, to the slow talking making it easier for us the audience to process the information and understand it. No you still need a reason to go back to Azeroth. Putting everything in one place is what they did in Warlords and everyone complained about it.

Why? They've invalidated the auction house and made everything too streamlined to play the game how it was naturally intended.
Gold is a useless currency anymore, I have 1.5 million gold, what the fuck do I need it for? Nothing, because 80% of professions have been made useless also. Cooking is more useful than leatherworking nowadays.
I think they're gonna change the capital city halfway through the Xpac. If we really move to argus later on in the Xpac there's a huge chance of having Exodor as a new capital.

It would be a cool touch to change capital half way in actually. And yeah, I was so pissed when after 17 hours of rendering, the file turned out to be broken >.

I have always loved the city of Dalaran. So rich with lore and import in the games storylines. I still use both Northrend Dalaran and Legion Dalaran as bind points for my toons.
Fantastic video Really sums up the history of Dalaran From the games. Its really nice to have Dalaran as the main hub again me and aot of other players still used it as a Hearthstone location Through Wod and some of mists.

Cool fact: the Tome of Arcane Knowledge still works in the new Dalaran. I'm pretty sure the chamber it teleports you to remains in old WotLK version of Dalaran, but when you use the book to teleport out again, it takes you to whatever version of Dal you were standing in before teleporting.

if you ever asked yourself why the Belfs are part of the horde: it's because of Grand Marshal Garithos.
You didn't mention the bonus mission that could be obtained in the prison level of Warcraft 3. That mission where Garithos throws kamikaze units at the portal to Outland and the player must build towers to stop them. It happened in Dalaran too. It resurrected the whole Tower Defense genre.
Amazing work you put into these videos. Makes me remember why I love this game so much. Thank you.

You go into exactly enough detail and show relevant clips, screenshots and other material to give people who couldn't experience things as they were at the time and can no longer today due to things being patched out.

Yeah they have used the same trick like with the mage tower in stormwind and hidden it below your feet instead. It is located right under the arena in the lower parts of the underbelly

I don't think Dalaran's destruction in WC2 is canon. In the novelizations, there was no siege during the Second War and Teron's siege was just a quick raid that Antonidas and Kael'thas held off, to distract while the eye was stolen.

Thanks for making . This has helped me to 'Catch Up' Lore wise since I'm a fairly new player in W.o.W. ( 6 months+), and learn what Dalaran really was/is . I'm the type of player that loves to RP, and thus Lore and all it means is very , very important to me. I never want to be considered a "Lore Breaker" , or a 'Lore Whore' and abuse & twist the Lore to suit my own personal needs & wants. I've seen far too many not so good RP'r's do just that , making themselves stupid stuff like "Queen of the Elves" even though we know that Azshara is now a Naga Queen , and Tyranda(?) is not considered to be a "Queen" . The player that I met in SMC did not want to hear that she was Raping the WoW Lore , ad thus when I pointed this out to her she simply got snooty and cussed me out , then put me on 'Ignore' , being a worthless peasant who did not show proper respect for his 'Queen'. But , I guess it takes all kinds to make a world go around , even the Lore Whore's & GoldShire Dancer's. LoL :-P Anyway , thanks again , look forward to going through your old video's and watching more Lore so I can learn even more. Be well & take care . :-) TSS

Many thanky for making this great video about Dalaran. It taught me a lot of things; for example why the famous Dalaran Dome was there. ( i once made a exploration under it, but all there was, was empty space.^^) I also found it amusing how the english speaking community created a extra word for it: "Lagaran". *g*
What i like most is, that they plant on the little floating isles around Dalaran. And the fish pond on one of them :)
