I'm glad your video popped up in my feed. I haven't watched you guys in a while and I'm glad to see you again. Maybe the reason your video came up is because of all these mysterious NJ drone sighting videos I've been watching lately.
Range 30 min out and 30 back to base . Good unit for airborne camera/ real time video footage. Silent eyes in The sky 😮 a lot of platforms for possible use of this plane can be a tool or a recreational model . Thanks again guys 🙏🎄
I covered my leading edge decals with blenderm and they haven't budged since I put them on. I also swapped the stock 5" tri-blades for 7x4 APC bi-blades. It was my first plane after 2 years of quads and now I have 9 planes! The Altus is an awesome plane for noobs.
Thanks for your hard work and have a great end of this year, and I hope you and your family had have a nice Christmas. Looking forward to a new year with your super videos
With those leading edge covers (which do a great job of keeping dents and dings off of the leading edge of the wing) you have to fold them over with a straight edge before you ever take the backing off, then apply them.
Hi Rc Saylors Nate and Abby, Popeye 🐕👋🙂. Wow amazing flight time 👍. This Rc plane is fantastic 😁💯🛶. The ZOHD. A great and must have Rc plane. Happy Holidays everyone. Thank you so very much Nate and Abby and God bless you and your family always 🙏. Our prayers and love for you all everyday.
Nice coverage of a great plane. Clean the leading edges with a little bit of warm, soapy water, wipe with some clean water, dry and the edge stickers will stick really well. Mine have been on for 7 months now with no lifting off at all. It’s a great wing, awesome for FPV, which is how I fly mine.
Thanks for this review. Looks like a plane I would get for fpv. Thank for all your hard work bringing us these videos. I hope you have a happy and prosperous new year. Greetings from Australia.
I have been a long time follower of you guys! Love your channel! And I fly fpv, and wanting to get into long range and actually the way the law is written you have to be able to see it yourself line of sight even with a spotter, unless you get a vlos waiver , UAV coach did it recently. Just wanted to clarify that, even if you have 50 spotters all spread out, you are breaking FAA rule. But i feel like, the speed limit is 55mph and EVERYONE breaks that every time they drive.
Fantastic Model in Action! I've had this model for a while now, and it's fully loaded with equipment. It stays in the air effortlessly for up to 40 minutes, even under full load. I've reached altitudes of up to 4000 meters, and the model has proven to be extraordinary. If you're interested in telemetry, you can find two videos on my channel where you can see how the model performs at high and low altitudes with a bit of wind. Check out the videos and see for yourself!
If you cleaned the leading edge of each wing with alcohol and let dry those black strips would stay on. The mold release was probably still on it. Windex or alcohol works well. Second thing. Zee batteries are not even close to being near labeled. Put some quality batteries in it instead of cheap Amazon packs. Try some RCBS or SMC packs.
I have two altuses, both using flight controllers, Inav and FPV with black and white night cameras which I fly purely at night (like 2am). One has analog with caddx Infra and other has night Walksnail HD pro. There is some magic flying over night city lights with your invisible plane, that no one can see, reminds me of playing early 2000s combat sims where I fly F117 with night vision over Kabul.
I'm just getting ready to make the switch to digital fpv, and have been looking at the walksnail systems. how are you liking it overall so far? Im not interested in the DJI ecosystem stuff so am looking at alternatives.
@rickbrasche8781 I like walksnail very much. I also have DJI, but its not very well suited for airplanes (due to inav osd issues), so I vote for walksnail. Walksnail is cheaper, more varied (from 1s micros to night cameras), and more "open sourcey" than strict DJI. Go and you will not regret it! I see dji positives only when flying quads in close proximity, it has better penetration. But for planes I flown over 6km with walksnail, all good
It is very quiet. We'll of course the plane is good. ZO(h)D is kryptonian & its kryptonian technology 🤭😏🥴😉 . Though even kryptonian technology isn't perfect. Superman's pod did crash instead of gracefully landing😉. Another great Saylor video-video'd by the supreme video-er Abby. Also Supreme flying by 🥧lot Nate🙊😼. ⚓️⚓️👍💛🧡💚👍🤭😏🥴😉🥧🙊😼👍⚓️⚓️.
Shout out to the camera crew for keeping up with a fast plane. 😁👍... I feel like that plane would fly better with a typical Rudder elevator setup instead of the V-tail..
Did you sand and clean the area on the wing before applying the black leading edge tape? It's could be not sticking due to mold release agents on the surface. Also, does the PNP come with a flight controller? If so, the slow ailerons may be due to not having performed an autotune setup.
I have one and it does not come with a FC for what it’s worth. I cleaned my leading edges with a bit of soap and water, no sanding and the tape has been sticking since I got mine 7 months ago.
Maybe you could get some orange duct tape to put on the front of the wings to replace their tape that didn't stick, then it WOULD match your controller.
I could easily reach 30 minutes plus with a zagi 370, with brushed 370 turbo and 1100 mAh 3s Hyperion almost 20 years ago lol. AUW was about 275 Grams. This is just yet another plane that can`t be fixed if you crash it, like mostly anything sold after 2010..
I don't know if 90 minutes is possible or not but I think I've heard something about where there's a limp mode that these drone planes go into and just briefly kick on the motors to keep them at a certain altitude so they can continue flight when they're in a waypoint mission Similar to what you see geese do they don't flap their wings all the time when at a certain altitude and the wind is right
I haven’t commented much on here, but love you guys and love the channel. Just had to (re)subscribe to the channel after already being previously subscribed. Weird.
A cool RC plane. Definitely designed for BVLOS, what with the camera pod on front, and the GPS antenna mount on top, it could easily fly long distance flights either under RC control, or autonomously using something like ArduPilot. Slava Ukraini
I checked this out because I have enough spotters to utilize its long ramge capabilities, and I'm even more interested after reading it has provisions for vtol. Would love some more info on that
@ab7rs you lose data when it loses signal, which means no more gps location if it goes down or loses power. But if it goes down far away with an airtag onboard, you can just go find it with an app on your phone, haha. I really liked the Sea Land Air Raptor H650 for about $100. Comes with everything you need (plan, radio, motor & batteries) and it is a lot of fun to fly.
Hi there Rcsaylors, It is going to be my birthday on the 15th of January. I would like to purchase another remote control aircraft, I have not yet Joined another model flying club yet. I have now moved to Devon to be nearer family. I did learn how to fly left and right hand flying circuits when I was a member of my previous flying club in Leatherhead in Surrey. I spent 18 months flying with them. I already own an aeroscout aircraft as well as a Cherokee 1.3m wingspan aircraft which I have flown with help from a model aircraft pilot in my previous model flying club. I also have a red arrow aircraft as well but I haven't put it together yet. there is a model flying club that I am thinking of joining, this is the east Devon model flying club. Also I do find model flying quite challenging this is because I do have a small amount of 3d vision despite this I have also had a lot of simulator flying hours so I can fly really well on the flying sim at home in Devon. If you have any suggestions about any remote control aircraft that you could recommend that would be really useful. Even though I was born with a lot of brain damage I do not want to give up my model flying as I also have a trojan aircraft with retractable landing gear. This last aircraft I haven't flown at all. I might consider either a twin otter aircraft or even a cirrus sr22t. I have also just renewed my membership of the BMFA. Kind regards David Bridge I am really liking your videos of the flying as well.
I just looked at the link and it's listed in kit form at 103.99 honestly that doesn't seem too high for a plane with twins as long as it comes with electronics . If it doesn't then yeah a bit too high.

8:42 “They make the best decisions for us when we fly our foam toys” made me laugh very hard. 😂
I’m so glad to know at least someone else is catching on and also catching my “humor” at the same time 😅😅💯😁⚓️
For the wing sticker, most likely you have to clean the foam with alcohol first to remove the mold release (be careful not to melt the foam).
Way to go. Keep up the great work
Thank you! 🙏👍💯😎⚓️
Did you sand and clean the area on the wing before applying the black leading edge tape? It's could be not sticking due to mold release agents on the surface.

I have one and it does not come with a FC for what it’s worth. I cleaned my leading edges with a bit of soap and water, no sanding and the tape has been sticking since I got mine 7 months ago.
Perhaps the stickers you removed are meant to be completely under the wings like the skid plates.
Maybe you could get some orange duct tape to put on the front of the wings to replace their tape that didn't stick, then it WOULD match your controller.
Great stuff. 👏 👍
2:21 Maybe those are supposed to go on the bottom of the wing like the skid plate stickers on the bottom
I believe you have to run an iron over the stickers on the leading edge of the wing...
I could easily reach 30 minutes plus with a zagi 370, with brushed 370 turbo and 1100 mAh 3s Hyperion almost 20 years ago lol.

That’s so awesome!! When the kids are older and out of the house, I might have time to thoroughly test these flight times, lol 😉😅❤️💯⚓️
Nice plane. Like the flight time and pretty quiet. Would not add camera. Don’t want to add a part 107 to account.👍😎😎
Just got the new magazine today in the mail.👍
You could always fold over the wing protector and set books on them for a few days then put them on the wings
yeh... it's utility...r/c reconnaissance bird😎☝️👍🇺🇸
This a good rig that can be programmed to fly autonomously on a pre programmed route?
Yes you can. Over INAV can you this programming for autonom fligth
The way her hand caressed that wing...
I didn’t think you could fly them beyond line of site
And an FAA waiver for bvlos...@@OceanusSeafreeze
I checked this out because I have enough spotters to utilize its long ramge capabilities, and I'm even more interested after reading it has provisions for vtol. Would love some more info on that
I had no idea you can throw a 'gopro' in it
I always bring my spotters 😂
How vulnerable are those props on landing?
Do you happen to be living in New Jersey?
I've been watching you since 2018 and as always you are the most informative and GOD fearing family. Thank you for another fine video. 👍 🙏 👋 🛩 🚁 📽 🎥 📸
I like this
Good vid, love that plane. Anyone else getting a Kenny Everet vibe and I mean that in the best possible way ha ha ha.
What is the long distance on it? Do you know?
An apple airtag onboard is the best spotter for long range
@@kikflipguy101 what's wrong with an RC flight controller?
@ab7rs you lose data when it loses signal, which means no more gps location if it goes down or loses power. But if it goes down far away with an airtag onboard, you can just go find it with an app on your phone, haha. It may be up in a tree or broken in pieces in a field somewhere, but at least you'll be able to find the wreck site and recover onboard cameras or blackbox SD cards
whats the easyiest thing to fly that's not a quadcopter or drone that doesn't take huge mahh batteries?
You must have a huge hangar for all the planes you have tested.
I believe that they probably give a lot away.
Hey Nate do you have this set up as elevons?
We should kneel before this.
Next time use a hot water towel to shape the leading edge protector.
You guys provide awesome reviews !! If you're ever around Pittsburgh come fly with us !!
👇Under an hour gang
Depends on how you fly and what battery you use. If I can get 60 minutes on a DartXL, the Altus should do easily be able to do that and then some.
@lol no I’m talking about being under an hour on the video
Paint it Vanta black and programme it to fly over New Jersey lol.
lol😂
@@PiratePrincessYukithen it would be just a black rc plane dude🥴
Looks like the zmo vtol
Oh ima get that one.
Is it AS3X or similar self levelling?
What would be a good plane to stay in the air for a very long time fpv answer recordings crazy drones in the sky
I want this so bad.
Its under 200 dollars. How is that on the higher price side.
I don’t doubt it with 7,000 mah li-ion
I had a Zohd Nano Talon Evo fly way over an hour with a 5,000 mah lithium ion battery
It is the General ZOD???? lol
i just watched superman haha
5:24 Whats snap?
Now that is a cool rc
But what is the long distance on it do you know?
Maybe someday they will put wheels on them........
More drag and less efficient. But it wouldn’t be too hard to add landing gear if you really wanted them. There are a lot of airplanes with landing gear on them! 😉😁💯😎⚓️
Nice overall review although the title in not honest at all.
Kit manufacturer says it weighs 545 grams (1.20lbs) ready to fly.
A very old simple formula is at least 100 watts per pound to fly with reasonable power, so 120 watts.
4S 2,200mah battery under load would maybe provide14.8 volts, so 120 watts ÷ 14.8 volts= 8.1 amp current draw to fly.
2.2 amp hr battery ÷ 8.1 amp draw= .2716 hrs (.2716 hrs x 60) = 16.29 minutes flight time
If you put in a larrger battery you increase the weight and then 120 watts is no longer enough to fly it.
Even with incredible throttle management not possible under power. Maybe if you catch a HUGE thermal ha ha.
Claims to be 90 minute flight time which I highly doubt, but you don't check the battery to see how much you used. 🙄
Depends from how high you drop it.
Will get one and see for yourself
@ryanmalec4234 I'm not the one making content as a "reviewer" of RC products.
Considering the crazy claim of 90 min flight times, I thought battery life on how long he flew would be part of the review. Silly me. He got a free plane, but I should go buy one just to see? OK pal. 👍
90 minutes would be crazy
They lie often. Then hide people calling them out from the channel. ;)
TO THE WORLD'S FAVORITE PILOT PACK THE BAG,S AND GO😢 TRUSTEES
Get them while you can
Probably only need the skids on the bottom edge of the wing. Not the leading edge.
1.5 hrs is actually not that much endurance. My base model flies over 4, and is very utilitarian. A friend flew over 10 hrs on li ion
Uh price dude price, how much was your friends, not 150 for everything lol that's for damn sure
@@dawhoda1 thumbnail says unlimited battery. That was the reference point. maybe should have said: cheap per hour
You failed to mention cost, but that’s ok, I can’t afford it anyway. I almost couldn’t afford to watch this video…
"design flaw" is code for quality fade.
Hey, what rc plane would u recommend that is around 60$ for a person whos never touched an rc plane?
I really liked the Sea Land Air Raptor H650 for about $100. Comes with everything you need (plan, radio, motor & batteries) and it is a lot of fun to fly.

I just looked at the link and it's listed in kit form at 103.99 honestly that doesn't seem too high for a plane with twins as long as it comes with electronics . If it doesn't then yeah a bit too high.
