You can see that both Jack and Kevin are very enthusiastic and excited about the final result. And that's awesome! Especially mind-blowing is that the sample was ready a year ago, insane. So much work the guys put into each product. Congrats with another one amazing pack in the family of EG. Waiting for videos with PLC features and back panel. ^_^
Loving the crap out of this bag! Wanted a smaller, lighter daypack for weekend city treks and this bag has suited me way better for that then the CPL 24L for just minimal travel. Thanks for designing an outstanding bag, very much appreciated! Cheers
I was already looking for a smaller backpack that also offered a clamshell opening, for those days when my CPL 28 is too big. This one will be perfect for my use. Great!
Looks like a very simple, yet very thoughtful bag, kudos for finding the Right balance. I feel like PLC will not hype core Evergoods fans, but will attract (way more) new customers.
I have to admit, I was super excited to see a new product video posted. Everything about the bag is a dream. Refreshed material palette, kept the clam shell opening, streamlined look. But guys...keeping the laptop compartment inside is not practical. Everytime you need to take the laptop in and out, you need to open the clamshell and spill out all your goods and reorganize it all putting it back in. And a lot of times we're in public, (a Starbucks, the airport, inside a cab, at a conference, etc.) and it makes it cumbersome to do this everytime, not to mention the embarrassment of showing the world what kind of underwear and socks you're planning to wear later in the day. Having the extra weight and bulk of an exterior compartment is worth it in the name of practacality. Oh, and sometimes people use the compartment for file folders in addition to a laptop. An exterior compartment would help us keep these kinds of items flat where the interior pocket nessitates a kind of 'bending' to make it fit. Maybe you're already working on this kind of version. I'd be first in line to add one to the collection.
I am stoked about the materials and that front pocket having its own volume and wider access towards the top face. (Looking Over at a GR1 with a impossibly tight front deep pocket that I have been trying to get my air pods out of for a week.) good job guys. I like how each release takes some bold new ideas and maybe we’ll see some of the changes come over to the others.
OMG lol Yes GR front pockets are just shown and have NO functionality at all! Once you fill the compartment, they just squeeze the front pocket. Bec careful it doesn't eat your hand
Beautiful bag but the lack of an external laptop compartment is a deal breaker for me. Even though this isn't a buy for me, I applaud you guys for continuing to innovate and try new things.
With the way it's a "panel loader" and has the flip tab at the top, the sleeve is actually just as easily accessible compared to an external laptop compartment. That's just my opinion. And same for the comment on lack of external water bottle pockets, I mean it looks like you could easily fit like a 32oz wide mouth Nalgene right in the front.
@@dylanwarner3041 For people that don't carry a lot in their main compartment, I agree with you that the laptop is easily accessible. But as someone who carries a lot of work stuff that tends to fill up a main compartment, my experience has been that it's a pain to access an internal laptop compartment. More times then not, stuff either falls out or I'm needing to unpack a few things to get to the laptop. But I have no doubts that a lot of people won't have an issue with the placement, everyone just has to find the right bag for them.
Love the design philosophy of this bag. I enjoy the CHZ22, CPL24, CTB26 and 35. Particularly because of the unique strap/suspension which is very comfortable for me. Will you eventually make the PLC with this original strap/suspension, which is really one of the features that differentiated your backpacks?
External water bottle pocket and dedicated laptop compartment would make this the perfect bag for me. Bummer. Rad bag though! Now if we can get the CHZ22/26 in these materials 🤔
Would you guys consider doing a product refresh making the civic half zip 26L with the new breathable back panel? A civic half zip 26L with this new textile and back panel would solve the only two gripes (pet hair and breathability) with my CHZ other than that I think it's great.
I am a big fan of the Evergoods brand!! But it feels like this has a bit of an ID crisis: **It feels too small to me to actually need the full clamshell, and it sacrifices the waterbottle compartment as a result. **Because the top pocket shares space with the laptop compartment (which is now inside and less accessible), when full, it can make it harder to access the laptop. However, I ~really~ like: **The more breathable back (and the nice clean and simple design). I wish mine had that!! My CPL - 28L (v2) has made my back drenched in the past, (and now I have to deal with a little mildew.) **The apparent water resistance of the outside of the backpack. **The look - very simple and clean! Wishing you guys the absolute best! I can't wait to buy another backpack or product for you guys!!
Thanks for the note. How many zippers need be opened to access the laptop? 1. How may zippers in the CPL28 you have? 1. Access isn’t an issue here to be honest. But your preferences are heard loud and clear and are much appreciated to consider. Thanks for the comment and be well out there!
@@evergoods_ Will do, thanks for the comment! Wishing you guys all the success in the world! I can't wait to buy another product from yall because I'm so happy with my backpack. I literally never had an emotional attachment to a backpack, but the CPL28L is such a pleasure to own and use! Every. single. time. After a year+ of use!! And I'm confident it'll last me years and years! I love it!
Great looking compact backpack ! volume: 20L weight: 2.5lbs or 1,13kg overall dimensions: 17.75 x11 x7.25 in or 43 x28 x18 cm Order placed ! (My CHZ26 is too big for my EDC needs)
When will that video of kevin (seems ) to explain all of those back panel's and your development of it. This to me is the biggest thing (second to harness) of innovation in the carry world!
Man I would love a CTB35 in like 24l size. This though might be closest to my needs. So hard to decide, maybe this and CTB35… or CPL. I’m struggling :D
How do you think this would fit on a child or young adult? I’ve been looking for a good school backpack for my kid and my CPL24 is too big. Any thoughts?
Mike- it would be food best guess. Click the hyperlink in the text box of the product page that reads sizing guide to see how we suggest measuring your torso:) jack
Would have been my all time favourite bag if only it had a water bottle pocket and the same ergobomy harness interface as your other bags! Was a hit and miss for me unfortunately😢

Ha! That wasn’t the goal for the pocket but it sure can be used that way. We don’t give out future product info but as always any time we do have she thing new the newsletter will be the first to hear about it. Jack
I love your products and I can't help but appreciate your true passion for each new product you introduce! However, I have the feeling that the two major changes compared to the rest of the line (i.e. the lack of the iconic curve of the harness interface and the lack of the typical breathable back panel) were put in place in order to reduce the cost of the bag. I may be wrong (you know better, despite how you present it) and in the end it doesn't matter - the PLC20 looks like yet another well-thought daily backpack ideal for the commuter (and more). All the best for the years to come!
Wonderful products! But logistical issues mar the buying experience. I wonder if there is a better business model that would allow customers to get the products that they pay for sooner.
JKC, the world has been on its axis for sure. And in a perfect world we would not have had to deal with the past few years. But, with the launch tomorrow the bags are in stock and shipping:). Thanks for the note. Jack
