Is there a way to assign a midi controller to the effects parameters? I love this tape delay and I want to be able to control the filter manually or via Rosetta LFO.
In my personal opinion, Bluetooth MIDI can be a little bit sketchy & lags a bit depending on your hardware and depending on how many units are in your set up, the MIDI messages can get spit out to the wrong destination at times…some people have a lot of good luck with Bluetooth MIDI though! I know Ableton Link allows MIDI Bluetooth and CME makes something called a WIDI (wireless MIDI) adapter that I’ve seen a lot of people incorporate into their setups.
Another really useful video! One question, I have mapped the play button to my controller, however, it only plays the who sequence when I hold the button down and stops playing as soon as I release it. Is it the same behaviour for you?
I have a Native Instruments Kontrol F1 which is an impeccable bit of hardware that is hardly usable for its original intention imho. Gonna see if it works well with Koala for Mac OS (I know it will not work with iOS).
I tried mapping an Akai MPD218 which works fine, except that it won't play the pads, it plays the selected pad at the midi note pitch. I'll have to do some reading to figure out what's going on. The knobs work fine, they mapped perfectly for midi cc, but anything sending midi notes pitches instead of playing the pad it's mapped to. Weird.
Oh, it could be because I'm using a USB B to USB C cable? Maybe...my phone is a pixel 3A. It doesn't really matter, the screen is way better anyway, I just hate being balked when I decide to try something and it won't work the way I expect lol.
@@nervouscooks yep, I figured it out. I did have it in keyboard mode, but it took me a few days to figure out how to turn it off. Turns out you have to open the pattern sequencer and turn off keyboard mode in there.
Alas, no. You can record pads, and you can record EQ changes, but the performance effects are always live, so if you want to record them, you need to use "record song" mode. If you plan well, you can get all of the effects combos you want and then chop and arrange them in a DAW or audio editor like audacity.
The reason for using pads is pretty much velocity
Do you know if you can use Koala strictly as a MIDI out, so I can send MIDI to my SP404 and sequence patterns with the Koala app?
How would you do live sampling / looping by recording incoming external audio in a DJ performane?
Very straight forward your explanation, thanks a lot 😊😊

Any recommendations for a Bluetooth or wireless pad controller, it seems there are very few or none available in UK that work

Just check you haven’t got the piano turned on… if that’s on it plays the notes chromatically. 👍

@@ThatSockmonkey Thanks for posting the solution. I was going mad trying to figure out what I did. Cheers!
3:29 how do you map the play button for it to work without keeping the button pressed
Is motion recording of the Effects possible with this Method?

You can also use resampling as a bit of a workaround 👍
Thank you. ✌🏼💜👍🏼🔥
Thank you
It also comes with a controller for free, it's called the touchscreen.
...keyboards.....no keyboards in the video.....
Best advice ever: You don’t need all that stuff.
How do you map the xy pad on the Korg NanoPad2 to control the FX filters instead of just turning them on and off.
