The Coronation was shown live in Britain. The RAF flew the film to Canada and they saw it a day later. I believe Australia, New Zealand saw it a few days after that. Not until it was shown all over the Empire did the US and others see it. It took about a week. Although if you lived along the US/Canadian bored those in the States had a chance of picking up the signal from Canada. I believe cable TV was in the experimental stage and in the city I grew up in an invited audience saw the Coronation live on cable TV. This happened in about 10 cities in Canada.

Next year 70 years!! Such a fantastic person!!
awesome!
From day one the Queen 👑🏦💂🇬🇧🇪🇺 knew was a blessed soul 💓👏🕊️
How much Britain has changed since to 2022😽
With all those men around she had to have been intimidated. Knowing a huge majority of them saw her simply as a little girl. I'm sure it wasn't easy getting them to respect her authority. We will probably never see another queen take the throne in our lifetime.
The next King is the last King, maybe.
There was an act proposed in case Prince William had a daughter (which he had) that removed the sexist primogeniture in the line of succession. So maybe, if Prince George had a daughter in the future, she could be Queen.
Not a single camera in sight, people just living the moment
It was really unexpected to me, that only 8 years after the war, they played a _german_ march at the parade celebrating the queens coronation (9:45, march is called 'Alte Kameraden').
It's probably also the tune for some English song. The hymn of the queen played earlier was also the tune of the Kaiser's Hymn in the German Empire (1871-1918).
@@john42t What are you trying to say? I know the march and there is no english version. It was written by a prussian officer in the late 1800s.
@@dudel39 You're right, there appears to be no English version. According to Wikipedia, it was popular around the world and King George had it already played at his coronation before Elisabeth.
The British royal family is of German heritage
Much better when all sound is post-recorded and laid over. They should do that again for the next coronation. Reality isn't splendourly enough for royalty.
Touched by Prince Philip's sacrifice
June 2022,a few days ago I was up at 4am to watch the PLATINUM JUBILEE in America. Seventy years ago, I was 10years old. I have loved the Queen and followed her life as the queen. I admire her for always loving the people of England and her Dignity ❤
Not just England
A remarkable lady. God bless her

Grabe kala isang palabas lang pero totoong nangyari sa kasaysayan ng mundo HER ROYAL MAJESTY
Truly the Queen of all queens. Ma'am. I thank you. 🙏
God bless the Queen and her beautiful family. Stick together.
It’s like a movie set in the 1600s but real!
Interesting video. I hope I live long enough to see William become King.
We got our independence But she will remain Our Queen forever
