Also interesting when you realize she wasn't even in line to be queen until she was about 9 years old. Her uncle was King Edward, who ended up abdicating within his first year; then his brother (Elizabeth's father) became king. So Elizabeth went from not in line to queen by age 27. Interesting that after all the upheaval that preceded her ascension, she became the longest reigning British monarch.
@@uebergeek She was always in line. When she was born, she was 3rd in line, but first in her generation, grandchild of King George V, after her uncle, the future Edward VIII, and then her father, George VI. Since her uncle never had children, and she had no brothers and was the older sister, she was high up there, it was just they figured Edward would have children, thus bumping her down, or her father may have a son, thus bumping her down. Since neither happened, that is why she became Queen. When her Grandfather died, she went to #2 on the line and then #1 when her uncle abdicated.

@god I mean it's a good life if you're born into royalty and aren't a heir of the throne. You could live a lavish and quiet life with no drama because you're not the crown prince/princess so no one would envy you or plot something against you.
This is the most beautiful ceremony I’ve ever seen, I hope that the British people don’t lose the tradition that sets them apart from the rest of the world.
@Jul W You're right that Britain is a democracy, so that illustrates having a constitutional monarchy doesnt prevent democratic vote. I never personally understand what saying the year you're in like 'we are in 2022' does for the argument either. It's also 11th of September. Apart from the connotations of now 21 years ago, saying the date means nothing. 1872 was the present year for someone in 1872, 1654 likewise. If its supposed to be a shorthand for how modern we are... to me, thats more of a reason to keep the monarchy tbh. Given how disposable everything is now, how we in society are inclined to dismiss age for youth, to have such short attention spans, to not think about either the past or how our actions affect the future and to be only concerned with ourselves in the present-- I think getting rid of something that has lasted a 1000 years just because its '2022'--whilst certainly a good representation of how our society is, is not a good reason to do it. There is also the other point that globalisation in 2022 also means there is less and less to hold onto in terms of national identity and tradition, and whilst cultures should embrace others, they should not forget their own. Otherwise eventually there'll be nothing more than the 1.
The world changed after that, she was truly the epitome of a queen, beautiful and elegant, she brought so much glory to Britain and her people, may her soul rest in peace our lovely and dear queen. When I was a child I was taught that Elizabeth was a bad queen, but my grandfather, who was a chef at the English court, said of the queen's kindness that the government always interfered. He was a prisoner of the state and limited. That is why we have a bad impression of him. The queen was a kind woman, God bless her, we will always remember her. No one comes like him even if someone wants to take his place❤
An outstanding exemplary woman who the world will never see the likes of again, before my time I watch the beginning of an era, today I watched the end of one.
The moment the crown was placed in Queen Elizabeth s head and everybody screamed "long live the queen" as they also place their crowns and tiaras and the trumpet goes is just a ghostbom!

Her Coronation is my earliest memory and the first time I saw a television. She could not have fulfilled the promise she made on her 21st birthday any more than she did.
I just finished watching the Queen's funeral, and I'm already here. Watching her accept the crown, orb, and scepter and finally take them off of her coffin as her reign comes to an end makes me tear up.
i was thinking the same. Seeing the orb, the scepter and the crown still shiny as they were when she received them as a young girl, and removed from the coffin 70 years later was something powerful to watch.
So sacred and glorious. It is so unique. Holy in deed. Set apart from other monarchies of the world. British royal traditions. So biblical. It is tied with duty to the state and people. The British coronation is so different from any other coronations in Europe. That is why she will never abdicate. Long live the Queen.

Are you immigrants? Most of people in my country know their ethnicty, and tribe.
U can do a DNA test... There are many online, you can also find family members like cousins.. Because is like a huge database of people
I'm a common person but I know my ancestry back to the late 1700s. Took a few hours on Ancestry website. It would be possible to go further back, but will take more effort (consulting individual parish records etc).

The young queen's voice was absolutely beautiful.
Charles would have only been 4 (almost 5); Anne would have only been 2 (almost 3) when the Coronation happened. Andrew and Edward were not born yet.
And now charles is about 70 and still waiting for the throne😂😂 i know i should laugh but the long live the queen thing really worked

This is the most beautiful ceremony I’ve ever seen, I hope that the British people don’t lose the tradition that sets them apart from the rest of the world.
@King Pistachion should’ve had the ceremony at big Tesco’s
@Jul W you say that today of all days? The kings coronation will be almost identical, Long Live The King.
@Jul W Remember that opinions are like ass holes... everyone's got one...and yours just happens to be full of sh it.
Consider yourself dealt with.
@Jul W cry harder, just remember who your king is.
I really admire the Queen's dedication on her duty, and she do it with dignity and enthusiasm
The pay-off line "LONG MAY SHE REIGN !" is now so poignant, 70 years on.
