I appreciate your detailed walkthrough of the new instruments and updates, and your demo of the new Piano V and Jun-6 V really showcased their capabilities. Your commentary was informative and engaging, and I feel much more informed about the new version of V Collection after watching this video. Thanks for sharing your insights and expertise!
Great review of the new stuff of the Arturia V Collection 9! I JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH! 😉 What an amazing VST collection! Congrats, Arturia! I don't think there is any comparable collection on the market!
A long time user of Arturia and for good reasons. In fact, it was because of their take of the CS-80 that made me interested in them (and this was back in 2009). So it’s a nice full circle that they rebuilt it =]
@@CreativeSauce The *big* enhancement that I know was being asked for is it has MPE compatibility and this definitely brings it much closer to the real deal as it is a very expressive instrument (the reason why Vangelis has consistently sung its praises).
"A Soul to Borrow" has a great glass harmonica vibe! You've convinced me I've made the right choice of an Arturia platform for my software rig, starting with the Keylab 88 mkii and microfuse2, and the software that comes with them. My hardware rig has a Roland RS-70, Roland JV-2080, Hammond SK1 and Korg minilogue XD module, controlled by an Alesis VI61. Both rigs use REAPER. I spent many years experimenting with Cakewalk and Cubase after the demise of Digital Orchestrator Pro, and have finally settled on REAPER. It was a great time to be working in MIDI when XG was a new thing. Sad to see no mention of MIDI 2.0 at NAMM 2023!
It is hard to beat the V Collection for usefulness, especially if you have a Keylab keyboard. Also, a lot of high quality, well thought out presets with descriptions for quick modulations
@@kcvee5192 €199. The augmented Steings and Voices are excellent additions, although not vintage replicas of anything retro. I didn’t have SQ-80 so worth the price to me. Also the Korg MS-20. I think they will add more Korg Replicas over the next few months as part of the V9. V Collection 9 also contains four rebuilt instruments - CS-80 V, Prophet-5 V, Prophet-VS V and Piano V. These updates are designed to bring them bang up to date. And the look and sound great !!! ☺️🤩
Great review Mike - I lusted over the Korg MS 20 when I was young and could only afford a Wasp! Got some catching up to do with your videos as been on holiday in Scotland!
For me as an owner of V7 and V8 im happy for now! Have a great ms20 from cherry audio. Augmented looks great maybe get that, but people have to keep in mind that every update is more cpu/memory hungry, not for all home pc's i am afraid! Ms 20 in polymode is very hard on youre system!
I have the V Collection 8. I haven't used everything in it. I swore that the SQ-80 was in there. Lol. I know it's been out for a while but I guess it came out after 8 was released. A may or may not upgrade to 9. We'll see
Excuse me, Master, perhaps i paid not enough attention; is this version of Arturia M1 Pro (MacOs) compatible?, or may i use it through Rosetta II? Thx.
I have v collection 8. Arturia had 2 offers for me when I logged in. £199 to upgrade and £149 to buy it. Can someone explain why is this? I ended up buying it for£149 instead of upgrading it
Roland Cloud D50 is unbeatable. Exactly the same as the real thing. Don't look outside Roland for that thing, they nailed it. The D05 hardware is the same too.
No other company will surpass Roland's own VST. The plugin was developed with the OG D50 engineers and sound designers. Kinda like Arturia's Synclavier V.
*yawn* SQ80 was already out, Korg and other companies already have MS20 vst's and the augmented stuff is ok but still no Elka Sytrhex, Jupiter 4, Jupoter 6, SH101, System 100/700, Arp 2500, Oberheim OBMX, Emu SP1200, LynnDrum, Kurtzwiel K150/250, K2500/2600, NordLead, Access Virus A/B, Yamaha CS 01/5/15/20/30/40/50/60/70, PPG Wave/Waveterm A/B, Waldorf, MiscrWave/Wave/XT/ Q, Octave Cat/Voyatra 8, EDP Wasp, OSC Oscar, etc I think I will skip V9,
SQ80 was already out but not part of the V collection 8. There was a bundle available when it came out but I did not get it at the time. So most V8 users probably don’t have it. I am both interested in the new CS80 which sounds really great as well the upgraded Prophet and the SQ80 so when there will be a sale where I can upgrade from V8 for 99 bucks I will get it. 199 is too much, I paid less for an upgrade from Pigments (or Analog Lab, no idea how their pricing works) to the whole V8. So 199 is not an attractive upgrade price for me.
Jupiter 8 kinda made the Jupiter 4 and 6 as irrelevant. Same for the CS80 vs the rest of the CS series. Jupiter 8 and CS80 are the top of the line for their respective series
I love this channel! Just ordered my Keylab and I can’t wait to get into the Arturia world for the first time!

3:00 I almost can hear Alison Moyet singing over it :) And Arturia V and FX Collection are amazing plugins!

Knob per function is the term you were looking for regarding the MS-20
Thank you!

I had a Korg MS10 back in the 80s and had a great time with it. :)
SQ-1+ was my first synth and the SQ-80 sounds very Ensoniqy and authentic.
Just got V9 and let me tell ya I'm feeling pretty inspired!

Absolutely :)
Excellent review. Thank you!!!!
cant even remember what version im on i think its v6 but arturia absolutley nailed this series. its the patch browsing that makes it a winner.
Just installed the updated Analog Lab and demo'd a few presets from the updated CS 80 & Prophet 5, sounding good. Yet to demo more extensively.
Yeah - Augmented stuff should be in there too!
Updated to V9 and delighted in doing so
😍
how much was it to upgrade?

I’m really interested in the new Prophet 5. I’ve never cared for Arturia’s take on it’s Sound. Hopefully this is more like the real thing.

Great review, thanks.
Thanks! Have not upgraded yet from V Collection 8 to 9, but am hoping BF or CM will offer same deal, hope so. Thanks again, hope all is good mate.
After Pigments and free Augmented it looks like the new and further Arturia VSTs is the future. Great video as always!
"I instantly started to write an 80s classic.... 40 years too late," That's hilarious, Mike! 😂😂😂😂😂
OH MY GOD. IT’S TIME!!
It is!
I will wait until the annual price drop later this year. There's lots of sound improvement in this collection
Oh man... Gotta start saving again! 😂
Thanks!

So is Pigments.
Augmented Strings is a beast too. 1 instance kills my (admittedly relatively old Ryzen) PC if I use it within an already full project
Very nice. Just when I had upgraded to V8 recently :D

@@madness8556 honestly, there's nothing in 9 that has me drooling but that's just me. I already have Korg's MS20 plug-in so I don't need this one.
@@madness8556 Same here. I guess thats gonna be the occasion going into November/December being BlackFriday & Xmas sale season.
Do you think?
🖤💀🖤
Drooling
It just is soo good :P
Well, all good, but I do not see the cables in Arturia's Korg MS20.
Tried to reinstall. Still no cables.
A great presentation. You like your "bouncing" presets, don't you?! :)
Would love for someone to do a decent Korg M-500 plugin.
Is it true that it is exxy on the computer?
Excuse me, Master, perhaps i paid not enough attention; is this version of Arturia M1 Pro (MacOs) compatible?, or may i use it through Rosetta II? Thx.
is there a way to update from Arturia v collection 8 or before ?
299 to upgrade from V-Collection 5 ; I guess it's the same from all versions previous to v8.

I got 7 and the €299 upgrade offer seems quite reasonable I guess.. I hope v8 users got a better offer though 😂
199 for v8 owners
@@robarth-meltedcheesehomest4012 sweet 👍
I was hoping for a D-50

In v collection 9 it left a to be desired in virew of version 7 and 8. The recreations almost did not apper. We expect an exceptional V Collection 10.

I know!!
Why do I love Cakewalk? So I can afford to buy the V collection. V for Victory. Great reView. Seriously...this company makes fantastic products.
