    The sound I was hearing here (when switched to Mk2) are EXACTLY what I get from my actual 1979 mk2. This is some emulation!

    Bought the Ms-20 Mini a year ago, this thing is great to find presets, and reverse engineer them on the hardware version.
    A great way to learn learn synthesis as well.
    Picked up the MS-20 V yesterday, and I love it, just as much.

    Great tutorial! Your overview of the KORG MS-20 V was really informative, and I appreciated the way you walked us through each section of the synth and demonstrated its capabilities. It's great to see how you've explored the various features and functions of the MS-20 V, and your examples really showcased the range of sounds that can be created with this classic synth. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us, and keep up the great work!

    Salût! Luv this … merci beaucoup, Arturia! I can't wait to play your new MS-20 V! it looks much, much more inviting and fully featured to me than the many recent hardware recreations. Great tutorial, too. Charlie rocks!😊

    I'd be interested to see a side by side of this and the Korg Collection version. I have KC and V Collection 8, so I'll probably wait for bit before considering upgrading.

    Do you also have a turorial which gets a bit deeper into the sequencer? or anyone else? ;)

    This sounds enormously powerful, even on my laptop speakers. Looks like Arturia have done it again! Question: how does the sequencer handle quantisation? Is it possible to change the tuning, scales etc., or to have no quantisation at all?

    • @NaturalTribulation
      @NaturalTribulation 2 роки тому +1

      Channel C is streamlined for pitch, it has pitch quantisation in semitones and direct routing to envelopes when the pitch switch is engaged.

      @LeVoisin38 Ah, I get it. Yes, that would make things a little awkward. I'd forgotten it was Hz/V

    Wow Charlie, you are good, you can play with both hands on the keyboard and same time you move filter knobs! I have to learn this from you... 😜

    I have an original which I paid rather a lot for a few years ago.
    this arturia version is superior. It sounds filthy and wonderful - and it has a sequencer.
    I'm selling the hardware.

    Arturias patch handling system is a complete nightmare.
    You may make an awesome patch but saving it and finding it again is way harder than you think.
    Definitively NOT made by or for musicians.
    An inspiration KILLER for sure.

    MS-20 was my very first synth in 1979. Sold a long time ago sadly. I don't remember it sounding as good as this version. Of course the original was mono and didn't have any fx or sequencer so this version is far from accurate.

    • @SpeccyMan
      @SpeccyMan 11 місяців тому

      The original did have a sequencer that you could add to it and the software version can work with or without its sequencer or effects and it can be switched to mono. Therefore your comment is far from accurate.

    • @awpMusic1
      @awpMusic1 11 місяців тому

      @@SpeccyMan the original had no sequencer - you may be thinking of the Korg SQ-10 Analog Sequencer that worked with it but that was a different instrument. The MS20 had no sequencer of its own I assure you.

    I have an original 1980 MS-20 from which I have, over the years, lured the sounds of boiling mud, lush string ensembles, alarm-clock bells and screaming leads. I am dusting off my old, hand-written patch library to start programming some of those sounds into the MS-20 V. Since neither the topology or the knob ranges are one-to-one with the original MS-20, this is not a trivial task, but very fun nonetheless...

    Hi ...I have Korg's own MS-20ic midi controller and I'm having difficulties to address the CC maps please help me with a video or something similar, I do the addressing with the values that are in the General MIDI Control that is available on the site from korg, however, I still can't configure my controller which is the perfect replica of the MS-20
