Titebond 3 is decently water resistant.
shoulda mixed the pva with varnish or something similar. PVA is already water resistant, and some varnish makes it almost waterproof.

I’ve always wanted to see people build a cardboard boat then do a layer of fiberglass on the hull so it didn’t fall apart! Even without that this was the most impressive cardboard boat ive ever seen! Cheers

Seriously impressive! I've been toying around with the idea of building a party deck boat and this was inspiring. If these guys can do this out of card board then I know with a bit better material, more space, and time that something amazing can be built. Thanks for sharing

A sheet or two of fiberglass and it would've lasted forever! As long as you UV protect the fiberglass and resins.

Great job! Back in 1988 I used cardboard honeycomb from door cores, soaked in epoxy, between thin plywood sheets also coated in epoxy, to build a sailing catamaran. Worked really well, still solid today! Epoxy is wonderful stuff, totally waterproof,but hellishly expensive and toxic to work with.

If, for some reason, we run out of wood then I'm pretty sure your ability to make a boat would be the last thing on your mind as I'm sure oxygen levels in the atmosphere would be very low.
Considering aluminum is the most abundant element in the earth's crust and there is so much of it that we don't even need to mine it anymore... I don't think so.

Skully Cypher not a bad idea actually if you coat it in entirety with Line-X
makes for a nice tax deduction - I guess the market rate for recycling?
If you want to make your boat fully water proof, and fit for the sea, firstly put one coat of west system epoxy resin and let it dry, (I suggest using west system 105 epoxy and 206 hardener), after the first coat dries, put another layer of epoxy resin, once that has dried, place a dynel cloth on top of the boat with no creases, then apply a thick coating of epoxy resin on the dynel cloth and wait to dry, after all of that, mix west system 105 epoxy with 206 hardener in a container and mix with 410 microlight, after Th mixing, use a sement smoothener and apply a 3 mil thick layer of the epoxy and 410 microlight, and wait to dry, this should be enough waterproofing for your boat if you want it to survive at sea.
You could use wood or ground cardboard to thicken it instead of 410 microlight; is what I want to say, but I made a cane handle with epoxy and wood flour before, and I needed to add some talc to it, wood flour particles are too large to properly thicken something on it's own.
