3.8L v6 build , from a 99-04 Mustang Next?
could you explain the dip in both the torque and horsepower as the RPMs approached 6k?
great to see my beautiful NOS parts at work. i build these every weekday. good to see someone is happy with our work.
I got a 95 f150 with a 315,000 mile 302 i wish i could just afford to put a new crate motor in it. Watching you guys build theses motors bout as close as ill get awsome job guys love your videos.
In a later episode they felt that they had hurt the motor on these passes when they went to go do another project with the engine and it nuked a piston. -U10
Why do I like these I'm in high school and I'm 15 and love to build stuff like this and love welding
YOUNG DREAMER me too bro
same here lol
Same here I was a professional welder up until I was in a car wreck in '04 and NO I WASN'T DRIVING I WAS A PASSENGER DOING WHAT THEY ARE BUILDING THIS ENGINE FOR (DRAG RACING🙄😤🤬..!!) PRICK SWERVED WHEN HE REALIZED WE WOULDN'T MAKE THE TURN (GOING TOO FAST TO MAKE SAID TURN IT WAS A T INTERSECTION (decatuer street in philadelphia, pa) ended up flipping the car end over end and landing in/on a frozen embankment of the northeast philly airport on the ungodly cold night of 1-18-'05 ERRGH,GAAH I HATE THAT ASSWIPE DRIVER (rolled out of the car opened the door and just rolled out of said car) 😤🤬..!!
YOUNG DREAMER its ok im also 15 i love this studf
@@65coupestang well what happened to you
Those Brodix Dragonslayer heads and edelbrock intake added NA 20 ft/lb and 80 HP with same cam.
That's awesome.
Great video I'm second this is such a sweet channel who doesn't love horsepower in the morning?
Wow I wish I was a part of the powernation team you guys ROCK!!!!💪
Wow !! 700+hp on a 383😊😊😊 warms my heart!
This is mind blowing bro
I want atleast 500 to the wheels
@@yourmom705 okay
There is a Corvair enthusiast that uses Nitrous as a cooling agent for the air-cooled engines in those cars; the added performance is a nice "extra."
You’re lucky that 100 shot of Nos didn’t blow the welds on your intake. 😂
Only if a back fire.
Never seen fast and fur. Have ya rich.
Now me and the mad scientist have to rip apart the block and replace the piston rings you fried
Budget build = Junkyard motor, rebuild kit, new cam and (maybe)valve train upgrades, hand port and polish you do yourself. The end.
I live to see the day the cameras are rolling and BRIGHT ORANGE lights come out of the dyno. Then see you guys say "that was cool"!
I expected the torque curve to be a little more consistent throughout the pull on nitrous, super impressive peak number but i bet the average number is much less.
Pats shirt. The hardest working pockets on youtube..
My Dawg Pat is a walking talking tool box 4 knives 13 pens 2 phone's
And a tape measure
Some guys are weird like that , I worked with a guy that carried every tool in his tool pouch that he owned , even doing simple tasks that only required 2 tools to do the job . He need suspenders to hold it on him he carried so much shit. Just killing his back for nothing Lol
"Water loses 97% of its heat retention capacity when it turns to a vapor, and that's bad [inside your engine]" which is why cooling systems are designed such that any vapor produced is pushed out into the overflow tank when the engine is hot and sucks liquid back in when it cools down. Nothing works quite like being disingenuous and intentionally using misinformation to get me to walk away from a new product.

A Grabber Green Chevy Small Block?
Oh you Mad Lads!
Great 👍🏼 video y’all I really enjoy watching y’all 👍🏼
Thank You Evans Coolant ..If Mike Galley recommends ... My 2013 Malibu LT 2.5 ...is a ah k &n and ..and Royal Purple Stallion
19:06 I don't think that grommet is doing much sealing. Looks like something out a Brazzers video.
Clicked...dead
I suppose that’s kind of funny. Besides the elements that the air may be carrying, that’s all it’s really going to seal. The fuel flows through the lines not the grommet. it’s more for a professional finish rather than a critical component. I did laugh a little bit. But only at the fact that you chose brazzers videos for comparison. If the videos you watch are of that comparison, you got for sure different taste my friend,. Well, Godspeed. Stay blessed. You see I added to your humor with my humor so now I got a full laugh.
Ok. That made me laugh more than it should have.
They needed to ask the Evan's rep. about lubrication of water pumps. My Dodge, and Chevrolet were very specific about what antifreeze the vehicle required. Also my "budget" and their "budget" are very different.
Well worth it and perfect idea of what exists for forward proof and thinking. Also absolute deviation of favorable object would pressure a solid inspect of cleanse status engine in persona perspective this is all the gidjets needed to operate opportunity.
When it comes to nitrous oxide. My motto is when it comes to how much should nitrous oxide should you use. Spray all of it.
Hector is going to be running 3 Honda Civics with spoon engines. And on top of that, he just went into Harry's, and he ordered 3 T66 turbos, with NOS. And a Motec system exhaust
When are you guys doing a Mopar 440 or better yet 500ci /440. Or 400 combo. You have "koffel place" or Indy to draw from. I will donate some blocks
lol at putting on airs for the ball hone. It's a dingleberry.
Here's a game everytime they mention budget take a shot of your choice whiskey or wine or gasoline
Nitrous first small block II ProCharger 3rd I will be watching this episode by 8 time before I get off work
What size of rod length 5.7 or 6 . Cam name or who made it, piston name and size,
do you have open and closing times for this cam, or possibly a part number and I will check it out
Elvan's aftermarket cool into didn't take about will it freeze
Mike when he says his S's is the highest pitch i have ever heard
Big Shot 405 ikr it was driving me crazy
My high school buddy hot rodded his Camaro and added a nitrous system. He was scared it would blow his motor up, so he never used it. What he did use it for was to get high. He put a diverter valve under the seat and ran a tube up so we could crack it open, whiff it, then turn it off. We had a lot of nitrous induced laughter in that car.
And that's why they put a small amount of sulfur in it here
I’d be very interested to see how much crank walk is being caused by that power level.
That was an awesome video guys. 😎✌️
the cam and huge ports woud be enough to pull close to 700 hp without Nitrous, swap to AFR 227 Competiton flow heads 340 cfm plus
Pat’s shirt must weigh 40lbs. Lol
Yayaaa crazy money headzzzz thats where all the jam comes from.
If this guy gets one more pen in that pocket, he might be a mechanic!
Did that waterless coolant ever catch on?
That guy from Evans has a voice for Radio/Podcasts.
wow 700hp from that engine...... soooo cool... not just that but those engines are bulletproof.....
What is with putting a carburetor on every motor.
I know that one of the objects in his pocket protector is a Sonic screwdriver..🤔😁
What crank did you use????
makes awesome power
Anyone else notice the dyno fuel setup is on a crankshaft and a camshaft?
Whats that mean
Love the green! LOVE
Who does the voice overs. I love it
The color reminds me of the old school rat fink style and design. Or maybe I’m just old?
How do you set the cam at 107 degrees when the timing marks cant be moved???
or is it because of the cam gear that mounts to the cam that can change the timing of the valves?
Amish Mike is looking very well groomed, is that because Bigfoot breeding season starts soon & he doesn't want to become a "forest bride" ever again? Or does he?
Wonder if you guys propane instead of nitrous to gain power will it work
No. You can use it to gain power in a diesel but not a gas engine. its actually less efficiant and you lose some power and a lot of mileage.
What cam?
what size small block was this engine?
Awesome 👍👍🔥
I think that little motor is going in the green S10 you guys are trying to fool us
That's good power from a small block! Great power to weight ratio!
Dude, the technology on the coolant is amazing but almost none of us are racing multiple mile round or oval track races. I'll take my chances on my own coolant at 1/4 the price.
Everyone who will ever own a daily driver will eventually blow a hose. Quick fix on the road, and some plain old water will get you home. Your screwed if you have this in the tank. Pass.
I seen Evans waterless coolant years ago always wondered how good it was now I no
Mike looks like a fool with that comb over he has been sporting lately.
Wow just wow
Say less I’m putting this wet set on my old 390 fe 😂😂 plus the turbo
Best job ever...
It's perfect brother 💪💙😍
I got a lt1 383 stroker that got 537 to the wheels
What would it cost the average person to build that motor the way you have it built? From top to bottom.
If you don't have a core to start with and need to buy everything budget 7-10k would be a good guess. If you have a SBC 350 already a couple grand. The heads are about $2000 alone.
You didn't check clearance on main bearings
Been much better if you showed how much total timing you pulled for the nitrous so guys dont blow up thier stuff.
Love that grabber green! I put it on my 408sbc👌🏽💪🏽
I just wanna let Mike know , When I used to comb my hair like that , I used to mess up the part in my hair ....it was a Chicago mobster thing My grandfather on my mom's side showed me before he passed , If he cares today
good to see the waterless coolant scam still going
Lol. Follow the recommended jetting.
that torque is dropping faster than that stripper
100lbs loss over 1,000 rpm. Are you going to tow at that engine speed?
Emmm, is that engine uhhh... for sale?
What do you guys think about Evan's coolant?
@T Web I agree! I just saw some reviews on Summit racing. Some guys said it blew head gaskets on their engines.
It’s junk. If you’re overheating on 50/50 in a street car their is a problem with the cooling system. If I was looking for the optimum performance out of a cooling system with only changing the fluid I would run distilled water ,with an additive like water wetter to keep the pump happy. Straight water is the best when it comes to thermal conductivity. Just make sure you drain if you encounter freezing temperatures.
@@bigboreracing356 thanks for info, but I'm gonna just keep using my 50/50 antifreeze. I don't have any cooling issues with my engine. 👍
Any Japanese 6 cylinder builds?
The Evansssss guy isssss whissstling hisss ssss'sssss
Does anyone have a pen?
Nah. But my dude Pat might be able to help a brother out.
"that is unbelievable for a … budget rebuild? .. I mean we did put a set of heads on it (5K~ish) "
those heads are an import casting so they are cheaper then a usa made casting hence the dragonslayer name. they are suprisingly not that bad cost wise for the return. they are $1900 for a set assembled at summit.
Race engine fur shirt. Any1 notice how many pulleys there were??
little green🥰😅
No hole haven't found the limit for a stock block yet
You don’t REALLY know how much it’ll take, until you BREAK IT.
because you introduced your nitrous late in the rpm.....it survived...so max it out on nitrous...at high rpm....then work your way down to your lowest rpm....
Hit it with 250hp kit already
Had the heads been CNC Opened to 225 cc they would make a ton more power
Did you not see the cnc portwork on them?? 🤣😮
@@brandonbell3089 must have either typoed that thinking 245 cc, or did not hear them when they said 225 cc. yet i remain same basically any combo with too large of ports and too large everything(for a daily driver) works out well for adding nitrous

Budget : you mean 5k 🤔🤔
@Joe Di Carlo yep 5k is nothing even if your doing it yourself and no labour fees.
All that means is that they set a budget for the build lol. They said budget build, just didnt mention what that budget was. .
@@bigboreracing356 it's not 5k though that was just a random number i threw out, just they always say 'budget build' when really it's thousands of pounds just for parts.
@@bigboreracing356 your kind of missing the point and it was abit of a joke.
@@bigboreracing356 that is also a fully custom built race engine vs a stock block slapped toghter with off the shelf parts
I see the announcer is still gargling sawdust...
Yes keep this shit up
i was taught by a top fuel racer.....use 60 grit on the decks....
I don't no abouy you buy the quality sucks on those canton oil pans. Just look at the weld on the pan. I ordered one and sent it back. I didn't want to put it on my engine. It looked like crap.
Yeah I have noticed the same thing
Well it seems every single one of these engine builds has a hand full of people crying about the "budget" builds. It sucks for your poor ass, and that's just the breaks.. OR... you can stop spending thousands on your phone and phone service, stay out'a the bars everyday and weekends.. and SAVE some money for your own project. There is NO SUCH THING as a $50 dollar 700hp motor. If you want something that's not going to blow up after starting it, you need to spend some money. Motor builds (particularly chevy ones), are still "cheap" if you know what your doing. If you are crying that this is too much money for you, then you need another hobby.
maybe around 8-8.8k if you can do some of the work yourself
@@bigsean2473 for 8k on engine stuff alone there are much cheaper ways to make power.
@@nathanboyles6222 im talking total build of a engine that is reliable and making 600+hp. yes you an do it a bit cheaper but how long will it last?? i want mine to run day in and out with no problems for years so i feel 8k is a good price for this for a total build.
Hmmm...no break in? Just give the beans eh?
Well ya they just toss the engine in the dumpster when finished.
I see where you broke a piston on this engine a few episodes later.
I remember that lol. What ended up happening? Too much n2o or bad ring gap
@@yourmom705 it was a ring issue. But they beat the hell out of it which probably didn't help it.
I love the content but the speaking cadence is a bit much. Who's coaching this?
Lemme get this straight, there are people who paid to see this coolant commercial?
Thats how these kinds of shows are financed.
Build it for 600 ho NA. Then it only takes a little.
Engine shower
Fifty dollars for the coolant!!!!! I work at a dealer service shop, I can't pay fifty dollars for coolant😕
Over 700 hp and lbft😲. In a engine that fits between 99% of all frame rails!!!! Imagine this thing in a model A😈 or a foxbody 😈😈😈
The coolant is a scam and terrible anyway
@@moto_rad figured, I mean they haven't changed coolant for like 60 years for a reason....cus it works the first time👍
There is no reason to insult a majestic Chevy engine (even one that doesn't work), by placing it anywhere near a f.o.r.d product.
@@hawkdsl dude, it's been done since the gen one small block Chevy. It replaced all the big block in the hot rod and custom scene. Just like before the Chev people used the flat head Ford and the little hemi or the nail head or the caddy engines. At that point the name tag on the body has zero meaning.
So calm your tits Lisa and let the older guys talk😊
