    Keep the reviews coming! Keeping it to straight measurements, draw force curve and facts, which I appreciate. The microphone definitely helps the audio. Keep it up!

    Best bow review i've seen. Keep at it. Only thing you should change is testing speeds for speed and comfort on the bows that offer it. Subbed!

    Very cool videos, I would be curious what would happen to the draw force curve if you move the mod forward a half inch.
    This changes the letoff, I run mine (on a older bow) a little over half an inch shorter than my draw stop, this increases holding weight and shortens the valley but I also feel like it makes the performance side of the mod less harsh. But I may just be use to the draw cycle now.

      I've definitely seen people in various forums discuss tinkering with the mod position! I would be curious as well...

    What was the DL set for? I’ve heard the Core SR is noticeably smoother with lower than max DL.

      We are testing all bows at ATA specs - 30", 70# draw peak (verified!) and the lowest let off available.

    I've watched several reviews on this bow on several channels. I don't know why everyone except bow disciples is getting different numbers on speed from what my bow produces. With a 350gr arrow (which I never use the bow shops provided it) in comfort setting I'm getting 330-335fps depending on point shape. Bullet style I'm getting 330-332. The finer point style field points are getting into the 333-335 range. In performance it goes up to the 340-344 fps range. With a 400gr arrow (again not what I use bow shop provided it) my bow is producing in the 320-322 range. A 500gr arrow (element quake my actual hunting arrows) I'm getting 290-291 comfort and 299 performance. When I step that 500gr arrow to 650gr with a brass foc weight and 150gr broadhead it starts to really shine at 285-286 in performance and 275-276 in comfort. With this bow and that arrow it punches straight through the shield and both shoulder blades with a complete exit on 250+ pound hogs at 35 yards. I think it would do it out to 40-45 yards but I will not take a hunting shot past 35. To many variables and I can't guarantee the hog won't duck or dodge causing a bad shot. 35 is my absolute limit. Yall can grill me all you want saying longer shots are okay, but I'm not comfortable with it. Yes I can shoot golf balls consistently at 100 yards, but a golf ball isn't alive and isn't moving hogs are. Deer because of the duck factor I'm not shooting past 30. I want that arrow inside it's fastest range to minimize the risk of spining or wounding an animal. It makes me feel like crap when a deer ducks and gets hit in the spine or worse just the back strap. Yeah a spine shot is a no track job, but 99% of the time the animal is still alive and scared till you put a second arrow in them. I'm not okay with that. I have shot a 300 pound boar head on with that 650gr set up out of this bow a couple weeks ago. That magnus single bevel came to a stop in the last vertebrae of the floating ribs after entering between the eyes and traveling down the spinal canal through the neck then breaking six vertebrae stopping in the seventh. I dought that boar knew he was hit, he dropped instantly and kicked maybe ten times nerve kicks with his front legs. There were three of us spot and stalking hogs, and all three of us were amazed at the performance of both the arrow and broadhead out of this bow. I also have a diamond edge max. Used the exact same setup out of it. I mean the exact same arrow and broadhead on a sow two weeks before that was 203 pounds to make the same shot. The broadhead stopped in the fourth vertebrae of the rib cage having traveled down the spinal canal in the neck and gone between the eyes in the skull. I'm pretty good at that shot when they pop out of the brush nosing the wind to see what I am. The sow was at 25 yards and the boar was at 29 yards. The speed of this bow makes a tremendous difference. Out of my diamond that arrow is only going 212fps on a good day. You are completely dependent on the weight to do the job with the diamond. I have not gotten a pass through or even through both shoulder blades with that diamond. Still super fast humane harvests through the shoulder blade, but not like with the core SR. I wish youtube would let me post pics in the comments to prove what I'm saying, but they won't.

      Without looking at your bow, there is no real way to tell why are getting different speeds. One thing to note is that we test all of our bows in ATA specification. This means the bow is adjusted to exactly 70.0 lbs. of peak draw weight (which we test with both specific hand scales, and with a draw board dyno), and exactly 30" of draw length. We are also 100% certain that the arrows we are shooting are the exact weights advertised (e.g. exactly 350, 400 and 450 grains). Finally, before issuing an official speed for a bow, we do shoot somewhere between 10-12 arrows to ensure that we are getting a repeatable average speed without too much variation.

    What are you using to generate draw force curves?

  • @olehemlock

    The bow weight is without the dampeners.

    • @ApexArchery
      @ApexArchery  11 місяців тому +3

      Perhaps that is true - and we really appreciate the feedback! The dampers do come installed from the factory, and I have not seen anyone remove them for real world use. Ultimately, we're attempting to create "real world" comparisons of all of these bows, including the vibration dampening from the factory.

    I've always been a big Bowtech fan up until recently for reasons I won't go into. I've moved onto Bear Archery having bought my very first Bear - the Whitetail Maxx - at a cost that's HALF of what Bowtech bows cost. The bow also tuned up perfectly without my arrow pointing out to the left away from the riser (like my Solution SS does). My next Bear bow is going to be the Alaskan XT, with a 33" axle-to-axle, a 6.25" brace height, and a 25" to 30" draw length range. It's rated at 335 FPS, but I'm pretty sure that real speeds would be pretty close to that Core SR, due to Bowtech padding their numbers constantly. I should be getting my Alaskan XT in the next few weeks. Again, this bow is $560 - less than half the price of a Bowtech.

    • @ApexArchery
      @ApexArchery  11 місяців тому +1

      No question about it - there are a lot of good bows on the market these days. It's awesome to hear that you've tried different brands and found one you love. I'd love to include the Alaskan XT in the test this year!

    • @deejaymutley
      @deejaymutley 8 місяців тому

      The SR speed in performance is 340fps. The XT is around 326fps from tests I've seen.

    • @l.i.archer5379
      @l.i.archer5379 8 місяців тому

      @@deejaymutleyyou're also spending more than double the money for a 10% increase in speed. Notice I said speed, not performance. Tim Connor is taking his Alaskan XT to TAC next month because it beat out his Core SS, and Darton Consequence. AND, it beat them both even with a bad cam bearing,, which he found out in his next video. I'd rather spend a few bucks on a new cam bearing, than $200 on a new cam (if any bearing in the Bowtech goes bad, that's what you'll be doing). I'll stick to my Alaskan XT.

    • @sheyanderson4371
      @sheyanderson4371 7 місяців тому

      @@l.i.archer5379 The Alaskan XT is a great bow for it's price, but it is not at the level of an SR no matter how you spin it. If you shoot it well and shoot it better than flagship bows, that is awesome and a huge plus for you. That is no reason to talk down another bow, especially one that has been very well reviewed across the board and well liked by many shooters.

    • @l.i.archer5379
      @l.i.archer5379 7 місяців тому

      @@sheyanderson4371 I can talk any way I want about any bow as I've worked on practically all of them and know how they tune amd shoot. You're overpaying for "flagship" bows that don't shoot much better than Bear's midrange bows.

    When the axle to axle is long as in this case - it requires twisting the string to generate the 33 axle to axle measurement. In your example the brace height would have met the correct measurement. Again these are production bows…with Bowtech most are shipped right on the money to the dealer. 🎯🎯🎯

    • @ApexArchery
      @ApexArchery  11 місяців тому +1

      I completely agree! I am finding that all the bows we've received so far are running a tad long. That said, I need to be fair and measure these brand new bows as they come from the factory. We've also found some examples where the brace height is exactly right and the ATA is still a bit long.

    • @perryrusso3764
      @perryrusso3764 11 місяців тому +1

      @@ApexArchery well I kindly disagree…I work on new bows daily…first thing I check is axle to axle length..if it’s out I bring it into spec..the longer it is from its length the slower it will perform…as a result you end up with a bow that doesn’t match what specs they should represent

    • @ApexArchery
      @ApexArchery  11 місяців тому

      @@perryrusso3764 I don't think we disagree at all! I agree completely that, ideally, all of these bows would come from the factory at exact spec - and if they are not in spec it makes sense to add a cable twist to get them there. Ultimately, every bow we've tested so far has been out of spec on ATA by about 1/8".

    • @perryrusso3764
      @perryrusso3764 11 місяців тому +1

      @@ApexArchery I believe manufacturers leave it up to their dealers to check…hunting bows come to the dealers in close proximity to their engineered specs…but target bows pretty much are correct when we receive them…most customers would never know the difference and most dealers don’t paper tune either…that’s a shame…as archery prices increase dealers must maximize profits. The average customer has no clue on tuning a bow to putting on a DLoop…GOOD LUCK
