  • The Bowtech Core SR has arrived for testing!
In this video, I set up the bow and discuss the bow's features and talk about the preliminary tune, draw cycle, and speed test.
As you might expect, it's the speed test where this bow really shines. This is the fastest bow I've shot in a very long time and it came very close to hitting it's advertised speed.
I will follow up with a long-term review in the coming weeks, before I put the 2024 hunting bow shootout video together. I should have 7 or 8 bows in this year's shootout.
Thank you to Canada Archery Online for letting me record this video in your shop.

With how smooth the draw cycles are on modern bows, I'm really hoping manufacturers will offer more 80 pound bows. This really helps out us short-draw archers for shooting long distance competitions. Not to mention the overlap of the fitness world with archery in the past few years, guys are willing and able for the heavier poundage bows!

This was my 2024 purchase. I thought it was one of the best bowtechs ever

Could you do a test on that bow with broadheads going over 300 fps at a good distance and then back the speed down and shoot broadheads and see if theres a difference in accuracy

Bowtech hasn’t changed much over the years I just shot that bow and nothing different the older bowtechs are better to my feel.

great review, I haven't found bowtechs to be shootable in performance, for me anyway. I gave it a fair chance on my realmx, SR6, revoltx and solution, and I found it terrible, comfort all the way!

Comfort is my preference as well in the hunting bows (I do prefer Performance on the target bows). Performance works a lot better for me on the hunting bows at 65 pounds or less.

Originally I was super into the core SR but the speed on comfort was just too slow. I shot at 70-75 lb 28 dl and a 495 grain arrow so maybe this bow even on the comfort would be better

My core sr is slower than my ss34 at the same draw weight, draw length and exact same arrow. Sr in comfort, 34 In Performance

My PSE Omen 61lbs is far faster than a tested SS34 70lbs exact same draw length at 70
I've just ordered a 50lb Core SR 60lbs I'll shoot it on performance

How much faster is from the SR6?

    • @ArcheryTalkVideo
      @ArcheryTalkVideo  5 місяців тому

The SR6 was 2 fps slower in my testing. Basically the same. The advertised speed of the SR6 was 350 vs. 344 for the Core SR.

Which draw cycle did you like better out of the 2 Lucas?

@@johnnewcomb5162 Draw is close, but the Core SR feels like it has a bit more valley to me. I found the SR6 very jumpy at full draw (at least at 70 lbs). Core is a bit more tame.
