- We permanently fix the clicking #4age clicking starter that most #ae86 corolla’s are known for. We also throw on a new set of OEM door handles to fix the worn out handles that plague these classic JDM cars. We also throw on a new Carbon Fiber hood because the old JDM Cusco hood broke on the drive home from California. The Seibon hood isn’t cheap but it’s definitely much stronger than that old Cusco hood.
If you’re looking for the write up on how to fix the starter I recommend heading to the SQ engineering website:

If you’re looking for the links to the starter relay, hood pins, and window handle clips I purchased:

Ah, so in my illustrious shitbox career, i spent my first 10 years doing some suspect wiring, only to spend the following 10 years delving into the world of OEM and MIL-SPEC wiring. This relay upgrade truly tickles my fancy. Splendid video, old chap! Do continue your adventures in the realm of questionable engineering.
Damn you're the wiring pro! I'm open to any suggestions if you see any glaring issues that will burn the car down.
I remember how night and day it was when I did the relay trick.
absolutely a game changer.
touge classics did a video on the relay upgrade. 3tc/2tc however. same
Gotta love the touge
Only thing id add about those pop style latches - the genuine ones work well, but the cheaper variants aren't as secure. If you still have the oem latch but don't use it, id consider adding some coated cable with a clip at either end thats just long enough to get your hand in to unclip, so if the latches fail, it wont flip the bonnet
That’s a great pro tip! Thank you.
So glad I watched this man. Both my hatch and my sons coupe do this starter crap all the time. surprised in the 20+ years of owning these cars I never heard of this starter relay trick
I’m so glad to help. I have bought 3 different starters all to “fix” the issue until I saw the starter relay trick.
@@CoolGuyClub I was about to buy a starter because it took me a really long ass time to get my hatch started this week after letting it sit for a month or so . Relay here I come!
Congrats on getting it started bro awesome 😎💯
Thank you thank you!!
@@CoolGuyClub Yessir I've been watching you build that beast since you bought it and drove it from Cali to Seattle bro 👊💯
