Ive recently started running (mostly because of depression and an inactive life). And after many setbacks i eventually finished 10 miles in Antwerp last weekend. Your videos especially the ones with the marathons and half marathons are really inspiring and also a hope i can get to do something like that one day. I hope you know what an impact you have :)
Hi. Running has helped me with my mental/emotional/physical health. Finishing a tiring run/race is soooo satisfying. The Americano and Chocolate Twist at Costa never tastes as good than at that moment! Of course running isn't a silver-bullet (I also have venlafaxine) but it makes a huuuuge difference Happy running to you.
@@twold4this oh i can understand that it was satisfying at that moment. Yeah i don´t see running as a silver bullet, it isn´t the only part of my life im in the process of improving. But what i like is that running has an effect on the other parts
Ran my first half marathon on Sunday, never run more than 10k before a few months ago, but after recovering from acl surgery last year, I decided to just do it and watching all the running channel videos really helped me achieve a time of 1:41:39 !! Thank you so much
Gosh! I am so happy for you, Anna! I am so elated that the crowds cheered you on and that you finished the race strong. This brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my face. Two more marathons to go! Well done, Anna!
Huge congratulations Anna, you did amazingly! The Running Channel has inspired me to take on my first ever race soon, the Wings For Life virtual race! I’m not great with distances but my goal is 6K, I’m really looking forward to it and I never would’ve had the inspiration or courage to sign up without watching you all, so thank you 😊
Fantastic Anna, its been a journey of love, laughter, tears and fears along the way, but you never give up. You demonstrated to all of us that if you work hard and believe you can achieve. Thank you so much and well done xx
ANNA! I'm so proud of you!! What an accomplishment! I ran my first half marathon this past Saturday and can say I got super emotional at the end of my race, too. When I was dying at 13k, I was thinking, "If Anna can do Boston, I can do this." Thanks for being my running inspiration!
I love that you truly enjoyed the marathon and took the time to interact with fans and supporters! Not all races have to be ultra serious PR attempts and I think that Boston is one of those races that you get a lot out of by just taking in everything and enjoying it. I'm from Newton and I always love watching BM footage pass through my city. Last year I spectated around mile 17 but this year I decided to go closer into the city to mile 22 (Cleveland Circle) and the crowd was so fun to be a part of. Also props to the enthusiastic volunteer crew at Hynes too!
What a great video! Well done Anna! Such a change from the Berlin marathon part 6 which I just rewatched (must stop watching that because it makes me cry every time!) You are such an inspiration to all of us. Keep it up!
Great run Anna - you're awesome! I ran my first Boston Marathon this year too - the course kicked by butt, but I loved every minute of it. What an absolutely fantastic atmosphere. I saw you briefly heading towards the start line from the Athlete's Village, but I was on the ground stretching and too far away to yell 'Hi' without sounding like a crazy person...haha
Anna, incredible job! I kept thinking about your Berlin run as I was watching this video. I can’t help but think of the amount of joy you had in this race. Keep sharing your running journey. We love The Running Channel here in the states. 😎
Thank you for bringing us along with you on this amazing journey! Seeing your smile and joy almost makes a marathon seem possible! Ha! Seriously though...Anna you always inspire me with your passion and determination--and love for the Doggos! :)
As a Bostonian and fellow Boston Marathoner - thank you for this great video. It was really refreshing to see the course and crowds through another point of view. The weather in 2022 was perfect and the crowds really loved seeing runners on the course again. I ran London in 2019 to get my Six Star and I can say the same thing about the wonderful crowds from Greenwich to Buckingham Palace. And yes we also call the Atlantic Ocean the pond. 😀
Wow! Though I'm a subscriber to this channel, it's been ages since the UA-cam algorithm brought a video my way. Today, however, this video popped up on my UA-cam page. I had no idea that Anna ran the Boston Marathon, in my hometown! I even recognized the hotel she was staying in. I can walk to it from my home. Anyway, I'm really impressed with Anna's running ability. Just like she conquered the New York Marathon, she easily overcame the Boston Marathon. Congratulations! And keep up your wonderful personality.
Anna, you are such an inspiration! I love all @therunningchannel videos but especially Anna’s race videos and special challenges - like the 1 mile an hour and the backyard marathon. I was supposed to run my first marathon in the spring; sadly it’s not going to happen anymore but I’m hoping for a fall race. The running channel has gotten me this far and I know they’ll help me get to that starting line one day. Congrats on this amazing achievement! Look out Tokyo and Chicago!
I recently ran my first marathon in Zurich, and you and the rest of the running channel were a huge part of that journey. So I want to thank you for the inspiration, motivation and help. After this video, I want to do another race. 😅
Anna: “Wow! The journey was long.” Me: “Well, yeah, I can only imagine the hours and miles you’ve put in to your training to get here and-“ Anna: “I forgot what it was like to be on the airplane for that long.” Me: “Oh! You meant your flight journey from home to get to Boston was long.”
We've been waiting on this one all week at our house. Yay! Great job of sharing Boston with us. We always shed a few tears on your Marathons, and we love it. Glad to see my fellow Americans coming out to support you, we would have been there but Boston is over 900 miles from us and we have work. New bucket list item - a photo with Anna from TRC! You really have inspired so many runners around the world thanks for that. Cheers and congratulations well done. Oh, by the way we are big baseball fans, I will help you understand it if you will help me with cricket. Look out UK we will be there in June and I just received my Parkrun bracelet and tag, can't wait.
Really inspirational, have loved the marathon videos, Berlin, NYC, Boston qualifier ect. I am training for Marathon in September after 10k and 1/2 Marathon races early this year, and I attend my first session at a running club today, just to think last October I couldn't run to the bottom of the Garden. Thanks for your great videos
I have learned, you never stop the watch. It puts some heat on my bum to take care of my business quickly knowing that my timer is still ticking away. To pivot, your happiness was so infectious. I don't know that I've seen a more positive marathon moment. Way to run and enjoy Boston.
Anna your video has just made me cry (happy tears)! You are so incredible and it was amazing to see you enjoy every second of that. You’re such an inspiration to so many people, and you’re one of the reasons I have dared to even try half marathons and a marathon. Keep being epic!
Well done Anna what an amazing achievement and you looked so happy 😀 the energy from the crowd seemed amazing. Truly our American friends always deliver such positivity 🇺🇸 Congratulations again Anna
Hi Anna, I just wanted to let you know how much this video inspired me and allowed me to complete my first marathon happy and with a feeling of magic. I came in second to last but seeing you smile throughout the video made me want to run like that. I'm sure you sacrificed some time by greeting people. I took the time to touch signs, laugh and smile, and meet people. It was hot, and I was tired, but I finished with a smile. I look forward to my next one! Thanks again!
Congratulations, Anna. Your happiness is palpable and incredibly infectious...it is my dream to make it to this most prestigious starting line myself one day. Thanks for giving so many runners (like me!) inspiration to chase after our running goals--you and this channel have lifted me up and motivated me to get out that door so many times. Also...this American gives you permission to put on your American accent any old time!😉💙💛
Well done Anna. This showed what you could do after the disappointment of being injured for the Berlin Marathon which we knew affected your time then. And I think you can knock of maybe almost 5 mins from your official time taking into account the various stops you made for photos and saying hello to supporters. A massive achievement taking everything into consideration and it was great that you got to run the Boston Marathon in the end despite not being able to achieve a qualifying time.
So happy for your journey, Anna! It was hard to see you struggle in Berlin (although totally relatable!), but it seems like you just had a joyous experience in Boston!
Well done! I was in your Destination Marathons group, too. Nice folks! Your video was a nice recap of the whole weekend. Best of luck on finishing the 6 world marathon majors.
Massive congrats, I ran (and vlogged) too! I was on an earlier bus (I was meant to be in a faster wave but dropped back) and it was still really chatty too, everyone was so excited! Absolutely amazing job
Hi Anna, back when you were training for Boston, I offered you our spare bedroom but I see you found an even sweeter deal! I’m sorry I missed you at the marathon but I am so glad you made it. The offer still stands for the future!
I love when one of you Running Channel folks comes to this side of the big water to run. Glad you had a great time, Anna! Also, amazed at how not-utterly-dead you looked at the end of it! It's probably just too long a trip, but I'd absolutely love to see you come to my city of Atlanta, to run our big race, the Peachtree Road Race - the largest 10K in the world. Thanks for sharing your experience, and frame that unicorn medal - that's some serious braggin' rights!
Congratulations on your Boston Marathon! I ran it last week, too. My 11th and I think you know why I keep coming back. Such an amazing experience. Well done!
Great job Anna. Your videos highlight the importance of running for yourself, not for others. I have my first half-marathon in May, after completing a 10k in Feb, I have trained hard and would love to go under 2 hours, but as a slightly older runner of stocky build I am not expecting to be an elite. As someone with Aspergers (autism spectrum), there have been times when just leaving my house was too much to cope with, so I consider every run a victory.
I am here to thank you for the valuable information you have provided for the amateur runners. In 2019, I had a disappointing DNF result for my first attempt at a marathon. I resolved to understand and correct the mistakes I made and try again. To do that I turned to a few running related channels, and yours was one of them. On May 1, 2022 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, I successfully completed my first marathon with a time of 7hr 7min, at the "young" age of 78. The information you provided on tapering and what to do a week before race was very useful.
Outstanding. It's true that the energy of the crowds is inspiring. They make the race memorable. You and your team have a great sense of what we viewers want to see in a Boston Marathon vlog and I appreciate it. By not showing video of the actual running of the race, you made it all the more intriguing. For those who haven't had the chance to experience it, I highly recommend being there to support a friend. I trust you got to experience dinner the evening following the race. All over the city there are people in yellow and blue jackets with their medals, regaling stories of their runs. It's super fun and inspiring for your own running program. Congratulations, Anna and TRC.
Thanks for the kind words David, we try really hard to find the balance between the performance and the experience so hopefully we managed to hit the mark on this one and perhaps inspire some people to take up the challenge themselves.
