That was the most beautiful marathon video I've seen in a long time. Following your journey and that heartbreaking final long run prior to this, this is exactly the perfect ending I was hoping for! Such a huge well done Sarah, that's amazing!!
Ah Sarah you have a 45 year old man here in floods of tears. As someone who also struggles with negative thoughts and bad anxiety that has ruined many a Marathon I understood exactly what you were going through. Fair play to you for finishing you are an inspiration
I'm a couple of steps behind you at 44...but same emotionally. It's now one last taper run before my first ever half marathon on May 11 for me. The nerves are setting in...
Mo seems like a dream pacer, his enthusiasm and support is so lovely. Congrats Sarah!!! Totally feel you on the biggest troll being myself. But you did it!!! You are amazing.
@@young-spark they’ve done those PB pacing for local people before and they are so cool to see! I’m in America and I just wish I could be friends with all of the people at the running channel so bad!! 😂❤️
@runningchannel Please be in NY this November! Would love to meet you all!! This was such an incredible video! I cried watching it hearing Sarah talk about how she was feeling and that self talk is real! You did it Sarah! You crushed it and had the best partner with you. Big cheers to Mo for pacing and the emotional support he gave you. I will definitely be writing on my hand “Run the mile you’re in” come November for my first marathon. Cheers to you Sarah! You are unstoppable!
Sarah, I think you expressed what so many of us have trouble understanding : why do we run ? Because when things get tough, when all we can think about are the worst things about ourselves, it is a way to persevere and say, see, you were wrong.
Sarah you are a beast! I love the vulnerability you display in your journey. I'm signed up for my first marathon in November of this year and a lot of the motivation to do it has come from all of you at the Running Channel!
I’ve made a grave mistake chopping this big bowl of onions whilst watching! Congratulations Sarah! And Mo, what a legend! Perfect run partner. So good!
My wife and I watched this just now in the kitchen while drinking our coffee, me wearing my running gear (but not actually going out for a run, ha!). We discussed the video as it progressed and it was totally compelling. My wife remembered seeing a picture of me after the L.A. Marathon in 1996 with my parents and family friends. I, too, remembered how it felt to see loved ones just before the finish line, me feeling terrible and the sight of them lifting me up. I'm tearing up right now remembering that unforgettable feeling. We are proud of you, Sarah, and so happy that you had a great pacer running with you. Mo's positive attitude is the "angel on my shoulder" anyone would be lucky to have with them. TRC, my favorite UA-cam subscription.
I'm not crying watching this...everything was just flying into my eyes non-stop for the whole 13 mins... Well done Sarah!!! If I ever get a place at London, then I know I will remember this video and what you said during the tough moments.
London is a lot hillier than people realise, even the first three miles are difficult to pace downhill - from experience the blue start is steeper than the red start but less speed bumps (I hate them, they should be removed from the entire course!)
Congratulations on this huge achievement, Sarah. The internal distance we cover mentally on every Marathon and the new hidden piece of ourselves that we discover is beyond any pace and any time. I feel blessed that I am a part of this channel and running community, and I hope that next year, I will run the London marathon and achieve the sub-3 that I have been trying to achieve since I started running three years ago. A big bravo to anyone watching this video, and through running, they create a better edition of themselves.
sub 3 is EPIC. Thank you for the kind message too we are bless to have you a part of our community hope we get to cheer you on next year and celebrate with you at that finish line
@@runningchannel Thanks for your kind words. I have a question. Do you know how it works with charities? I have already applied for one. Is it allowed to apply to multiple charities and decide based on their answers? Or do I have to wait for a rejection before applying to another one? Cheers!
I don’t think I’ve cried so much since mile 19 of London to now, watching this video. I had my debut marathon on the 21st at London and I was 20-25 minutes behind the finish time I wanted. Your video articulated all the feelings and all the things in between. Sarah you smashed it and you have inspired so many of us x
I think almost all people, especially on their first marathon, get behind their target time. I want sub 4 hours so I'm going to set my goal as sub 3:40 and train for that.
I lost my mum 6 weeks ago. I have my first marathon planned for October and would give anything to have her there cheering me on. My mind is now telling me “What’s the point in running” “There’s nobody there to make proud anymore” “give up” I’m so glad you got to see your Mum in the throngs of thousands! Sarah, you are genuinely inspirational to all. I’m so glad you got to see your Mum in the throngs of thousands! You deserved that win! Well done.
I think I’ve cried a handful of times in the last decade and the majority of those have been watching Sarah’s videos! Such raw emotion. Such an inspiration.
That was honestly one of the best running videos I have ever watched. When Mo said he was sticking with you until you cross the line together, that is what friendship and a running community is all about. So impressive Sarah, so many people will watch that video and be inspired (well at least one is)
That was raw, but oh so real. Thanks for sharing! I recognize all those emotions and fears. As a 58 year old man, I ran my first marathon in Chicago. Great race, but during the depth of the race between 18 and 20 miles, I talked myself into walking a bit. I honestly think I was physically capable but mentally, I fell a bit short. I finished, but I learned something about myself. I’ve signed up for Houston in 2025 and I’ll be much better prepared.
Congratulations, Sarah! Obtaining both a PB and greater faith in yourself - what an incredible victory! As always, thank you the inspiration and motivation.
I can relate to this. A Lot. I completed the London Marathon this year for the first time, probably the only time. Due to a serious back injury I was only able to walk, but I did the whole training plan walking, and walked the whole thing to get the medal. I had a wobble at about 7 miles in my head, and another at about 22 miles (same spot as you I think, is there something about 22 miles?). OK I did 7:59 as a walker, but its the proudest achievement of my life and I learned a lot about myself, and that I *could* push myself to achieve things. Thank you for the video, its brought back great memories.
sitting at work with this on trying so hard not to bawl but then Sarah saw her mom and the gates opened😭😭😭 so proud of Sarah! and Mo with that eneegy omg !! everyone deserves Mo as a pacer
Sarah, honestly one of the most genuine marathon recap videos I’ve seen. Shows the highest highs but also the lowest lows and how you pushed through that. You are just incredible 🤩👏🎉🤩
Ah Sarah you have a 45 year old man here in floods of tears. As someone who suffers with anxiety that has ruined many a Marathon I understand your struggle with negative thought during a Marathon. Fair play to you for keeping going, you are an inspiration.
How wonderfull is it to have a good friend like Mo. He means more then 1000 words or kilometers! Everyone should have a friend/pacer/motivatir like him!

I am planning on doing my first marathon as a goal when I am 60. I am type 1 diabetic and have only ever run a half. This video is excellent. Really inspiring and emotive. It really shows how important mental strength plays a huge part in running a race no matter the distance, but a marathon is a huge achievement. Thank you Sarah and The Running Channel for posting this.
Well done Sarah and Mo for the cheering on. I've never felt so connected to a stranger on the other side of the world as I did with you here. Amazing job and EPIC production by TRC

I swear there is always someone cutting onions when I watch TRC marathons. Huge fan Sarah you killed it! And Mo is such a beautiful human! What a team!!! Congratulations 🥳
Sitting here in Texas, at work, in front of my computer just crying. What a great story. What great inspiration and friendship. Thank you so much for being genuine and vulnerable. Thank you for your emotional journey. 🤗💜
Sarah, I am in tears right now. You can be so proud of yourself! Pushing through your limits and getting that well deserved PB! Congratulations, dear Sarah! :) That was the most beautiful post-marathon interview I have ever seen. Well done from Mo for the pacing and the superb emotional support! You guys are amazing! :)
Brilliant Sarah, you are an inspiration for many runners who classify themselves as below average. You are far from below average as you have a wonderful personality and talk to runners like me who aren’t in the speed bracket. Too many youtube channels are beyond the average capability which is why i like TRC as it caters for everyone. Well done on a brilliant time and describing the demons of the brain and how you overcame them. You are an exceptional young lady.
Sarah, i listened to this video this evening on my run. A total mistake because i cried between km 5 and 7 (not quite the look i was going for). What a raw and powerful video and what a fantastic race. Glad you're able to look back on it with joy ♥️
That was so many things. I don't even have words for some of them. My brain fights me every run and I'm just starting my half training. You've given me hope. Congrats on a beautiful run and PB. And cheers to Mo for being the best hype man when you needed it.
I so admire the honesty and grit in this. Coming up to my 70th year I think I might give another marathon a go, too prove to myself that I am mentally strong, Coming back to this video will be important. Go Sarah, you can achieve your dreams
Thank you Sarah for showing the complete vulnerability and the perseverance you had despite you were fighting your impostor syndrome. Loved this video and you just inspired me again, as this amazing community keeps doing!!!
I’ve done the London marathon via ballot twice.. first marathon ever done back in 2015, fell apart but finished, fantastic event, second time after years of trying last year, and did better, but didn’t feel the same buzz about the event.. but the people, amazing! so supportive shouting out your name, seeing all the shirts showing other peoples reasons for putting one foot in front of each other as fast as they can.. not sure if I’ll get to do it again.. but people will love it. Well done!! You should be proud of your effort.. I can’t imagine running that fast for so long.. not sure I’ll ever break the 4 hour let alone getting near 3:30. 🎉
Huge congratulations! You've made us all proud. You continue to inspire us to shoot for our goals and not give up. Whenever I'm running and start to get those doubtful thoughts, I'll think back to this video and remember that Sarah proved that you can do hard things.
Sarah - you have inspired me more than you can ever realise. I'm running again after years of feeling like I'm not good enough, or fast enough. You are amazing, never forget that. ❤
Wow Sarah. That was truly epic. Emotional, motivational and shows the true highs and lows, physical and mental of a Marathon. Mo was a star helping you to remember who you are. Well done and massive congratulations. You are a winner, you are unbreakable. ❤
This is…by far… my favorite video! Sarah.. The way you talked about the battle against your biggest enemy, yourself, was powerful. I was fighting back the tears, BUT when you were looking for your mum. I lost it. 😢 my mother never got to see me as a runner (cancer) esp when I finished my first marathon… I knew she was with me but to have a loved one cheering you on gives you super hero strength. ❤ u Sarah, ❤️ u Mom.
I'm just speechless and emotional. Sarah, You're such a strong woman, an amazing runner and an inspiration. This is the kind of marathon videos that we need, where you can see all the battle, the self doubt and the demons in our heads, and how the strongest of us can win it. Amazing! Such a big win, I'm so proud of you. Thanks to Mo as well, what an energy! Well done, both of you
fantasic video!! got me tearing up at my desk at work. i train alone mainly by choice and also the fact that no1 i know does what i do or is intereted in fitness. a part of me kind of wonders what it would mean to have someone you love their watching you, routing for you, cheering you on like you idd with your friends and your mum. Huge congratulations to Mo to being the best pacer and hype man, if it wasnt for him then this woouldnt have ended the same. so proud of this chanel and this team thry have built.
Congratulations Sarah. I attempted my first marathon in January and "only" made it to 18.67 miles (I remember exactly). I wish I'd had a Mo with me to push me and keep me going. We all need support like that. Way to go!
I was waiting for this video. Sarah, you crushed it. Mo... what can I say, you are just what the doctor ordered. Keep up the good work, keep on putting one foot in front of the other, and stay strong. I am so inspired by all of you at the Running Channel. Much love from Michael in Detroit.
Congratulations Sarah! You’re amazing and so strong, what a wonderful race! The Running Channel and you especially have been one of my biggest motivators for running and it’s not hard to see why especially through this video

That was a beautiful video and race, it left me with tears in my eyes. Everything is so relatable. I’m glad you’ve got your pb, conquered your selfdoubts, and so happy for you that you had your own personal happy and motivational coach/pacer with you. What a huge boost he must have been. But above all: you did it, you did it! Huge congratulations!

The “biggest troll is myself” and negative self talk resonates so much with me. Weeping with you watching this. Good for you for overcoming the mental and physical feat. Good for you Sarah!! 🎉
I swear there is always someone cutting onions when I watch TRC marathons. Huge fan Sarah you killed it! And Mo is such a beautiful human! What a team!!! Congratulations 🥳
What a run Sarah! Feeling your emotions! So so proud of you! 🎉
It made us emotional!
A beautiful true story. I wasn’t feeling like running this morning. You got me out there Sarah. ❤
Sitting here in Texas, at work, in front of my computer just crying. What a great story. What great inspiration and friendship. Thank you so much for being genuine and vulnerable. Thank you for your emotional journey. 🤗💜
Shout out to the editors for turning a running video into a work of art
So so true 🙌🏻
I'm not crying you are, so happy for you - I ran London, not my best run, not a PB but with my friend and how amazing was London
Well done Sarah, and thank you for taking us along with you on your physical and mental journey. ❤
Well done Sarah. You smashed it! You showed your mind that you can do it!!!🤗
Blimey!! That’s a tear jerker 😢 You smashed that Sarah!! Blooming amazing 🤩 And Mo!! What a star!!! 🎉
I'm so proud of you Sarah! Well done. Got tears in my eyes. All the love!
❤️❤️❤️
As a marathoner myself this kind of videos makes me so happy, i ran London Marathon in 2022 and it was such a awesome experience!
SO GOOD! Be proud of yourself, Sarah. You did it! And you inspired so many people to know they can do the same.
And that’s exactly why we do what we do here at TRC 🙌
Well done, both of you
This team man ..this team.. the way he encouraged her was just awesome...love them.. and yes.. go Sarah
fantasic video!! got me tearing up at my desk at work. i train alone mainly by choice and also the fact that no1 i know does what i do or is intereted in fitness. a part of me kind of wonders what it would mean to have someone you love their watching you, routing for you, cheering you on like you idd with your friends and your mum. Huge congratulations to Mo to being the best pacer and hype man, if it wasnt for him then this woouldnt have ended the same. so proud of this chanel and this team thry have built.
These videos that you folks do… where you push yourselves and really see what you’re made of. They inspire me so much!
So emotional watching this and your amazing supporter too gets medal for all that encouragement too!
Just cried my eyes out. Amazing video and congrats on your PB Sarah, as well as reaching your A goal. What a joy to watch!
Congratulations Sarah! You’re amazing and so strong, what a wonderful race! The Running Channel and you especially have been one of my biggest motivators for running and it’s not hard to see why especially through this video
That is so great to hear, we are glad you enjoyed the video and what we do, anything you want to see us make just shout!
Swear one day I'll be able to watch one of these marathon videos without getting all teary-eyed. Legend! 🙌
Regardless of what time any of us want to run you just inspired the hell out of me mate. You smashed it. Thanks for sharing your journey from start to finish. From day one of training to the eventual finish line. Bravo Sarah. You’re ACE.
What a dream team you both were. Sarah, you smashed it, you were amazing and I cried the ugly cry watching you battle your demons there. Mo, what a wonderful pacer you were, so supportive and positive. Wonderful video and I hope you both felt huge pride. Xx
We think it might be the realist marathon video we've ever made, do you agree?
Oh yes. It was absolutely spot on.
What an amazing recount - I’m sure we’re all in tears!! Well done Sarah, what an achievement!
"Youll piece together all those hard moments (that you went thru to get here)". That is the motivation for me with my 2nd ever marathon coming up in 4 weeks having gone thru an achilles injury , which has miraculously disappeared (thank you, God). Well done on your new PB , Sarah. You are an inspiration to me to try and get under 3.45 as well. First mara 3.59
I got chills Sarah! That was the most honest, vulnerable, and fiercest I've ever seen you. You deserve and you earned that PB. Proud of you!
I want Mo to pace my first marathon. What a motivator 🙌🏻Sarah congratulations you smashed London!!! I was teary watching the whole video but when you saw your Mum in the crowd I bawled. So emotional. Well done 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I did not scroll to look at the comments to avoid spoilers--and I'm so glad I didn't! You are a treasure! You worked for that PB for months--and it all came together when you needed it. You are an inspiration!
