Haruna actually can do any fills as much as she want, but she understood that she has a big responsible to carrying the song, keeping the tempo, and bring the power from start to end.
If someone says Haruna is an average drummer, they are either 1) jealous, 2) have a hearing problem or 3) don't know anything about drumming. She plays complicated/syncopated patterns behind the melody. Her china, cymbal and bell work is always busy and excellent. Her double bass work is steady or syncopated and furious. Her overall work is vey supportive of each song's melody and even stands in the forefront at times in songs. And to keep up with her at that pace and complexity would be a chore for most drummers. There, I said it.
Thanks, I was going to say the same thing. When people don't know LOVEBITES, they think LOVEBITES are like the rest of the "One Trick Pony" bands in the music-verse, who only have one style and no imagination. It's easy to speak out of ignorance today because no kind of expertise is required, and everyone thinks their opinion carries weight. Even light weights think that way. Oh well, as Asami says "This is the Truth".
Great review. Yes, the drummer Haruna is doing what the band needs instead of showing off easy tricks, propelling the whole chunk of sound, but her cymbal, bell work and tom fills are highly creative.
Nice reaction to my favorite song. Unreal the talent in this band. Regarding Haruna, I feel people just don't understand music. To that person about being boring, ridiculous. And even yourself saying playing the same beat and understanding what that creator was saying, I disagree with you too. Lovebites play power/speed metal, and the drummer is tasked with keeping the beat and doing so very fast. Haruna does something which I think makes her one of the best drummers in metal. She knows about the straight line beat since the songs just go for the throat from the beginning. What Haruna does with the cymbals/bells/china is the best I have ever heard. And she also, throughout a song, adds in so many little off beats and other fills that in no way is she just playing the same beat.
It is all the little accents she throws in and change ups. For example on Holy War she plays heavy snare on Miyakos solo and switches for Midori's. On Glory to the World half the chorus is one beat then the other half almost a fill. Here the use of the tiny splash cymbals throughout. On Dancing with the Devil she leaves a rest on the kick drum in the first half and takes it out on the second. Her kick use on Break the Wall and The Hammer of Wrath if very effective and creative leaving gaps on Break and flurries on Wrath. I'm a bass player not a drummer but Haruna plays the most interesting stuff.
I watch that reaction, that guy doesn't know anything about drumming, and he made a bad comment about it only on one song, all drummers that react to her drumming says they cannot do like what she is doing on the drum kits, fast double kicks, hits all the cymbals, unless they do more practice, practice, practice...
Nice Reaction. It's good to see another Reactor who wants to see more of their work. As to Haruna - I would ask you to re-listen and just pay attention to all of her accent work. Without losing time in her doubles, she uses cymbals, ride bell, and her beloved Sabian Ice Bell to accent vocal lines, and the actual phrases from the other musicians. She is Committed to Driving the song Forward, and uses those accents to additionally play off of what is happening in the song - instead of some off-beat fill (to essentially Stand Out). Enjoying your journey so far. Watch enough Lovebites and you will begin to understand Haruna's drumming. 🤘🐺🤘
With ALL the comments attempting to 'defend Haruna's drumming' from criticism that seems to be coming from this reaction video leads me to pass ... I've no time for drummers who don't understand OR who further the nonsense of others who don't understand by bringing it up at all, making it the 'focus' of viewers. Whoever said something derogatory about Haruna's drumming is to be IGNORED.
First off thank you so much for defending Haruna the way you did because of that I just subbed to your channel and second I think you might like to know that there was a poll done in Japan not that long ago where a list was made of the top 500 best drummers in Japan and Haruna was ranked 42 on the list of 500 so clearly she’s doing something right in order to be in the top 50.
I'm a Gene Hoglan fan from way back. The stuff he did with DEATH was epic. Having said that, I absolutely LOVE Haruna. Part of it is no doubt because she is so damn cute. But mostly because she kills it on the drums. Check out her drumming on the song: "Dystopia Symphony". Right before the big solo section in the middle, she goes into Gene Hoglan mode!
Anyone who questions Haruna, go through their entire catalog, then tell me what you think. Pls sub to their channel if you like them. They have < 100k subs, which is ludicrous. Thx for continuing to check them out! 🤘
HI Arturo. if you want to see some Haruna drummings . react to Lovebites cover of Eagle fly free ( helloween) . each instrument have a solo part in this video. including bass and drums
I dont know ho say that Haruna drumming was boring ...but as musicien and composer my self i can says that the guy ho criticied Haruna it's missing knoledge of drumming skills and offended my soul..i'm truly sayng ..Pooor knoledge ignorance and have no musical skills at all cant judge ..better to shout them mind off not the mouth but the mind...Haruna it's just amazing and so tecnical drummer and nothing to say againt her.in this song it was amazing. Your reaction was perfect thank you for that rection and to give justice to Lovebites sound.
The dude that complained about the drumming is just an average guy that casually listens to music and rarely, if ever, listens to stuff this fast. He was explaining what he liked and did it in the simplest of terms. Not understanding at all that he was mostly just hearing the double base sounding like a machine gun. And missing much of the other stuff she was doing. You can't get mad at him because he wasn't understanding what he was hearing. He may not have been the actual reactor either. But just a guest of the actual reactor. It's been a while since I saw the reaction, so I may have the last part wrong, but I don't think so.
if it's the Drummer I'm thinking of, he's part of a Prog Metal band, which I tend to find breeds music snobs, even if the actual player is mediocre AF themselves. But also I do gather from their reaction videos (which I note they put out a lot more of than IDK.. original music), the guy does kinda come across a bit stoned.. or a lot. lol.
I mean, Haruna isn't a super flashy and creative drummer, but what she does, she does extremely well. Her footwork is insane, and her cymbal work is second to none.
To the people who said the drummer is boring, I’d like to see them get behind the kit and do what she does.
😂 I couldn’t play any of their songs. I’m nowhere near as good as she is.
AGREED! For another way of putting it, look up the video, History of the World Art Critic. 😉🍻 Mel Brooks is GOAT

That reactor was some creepy beer drinking., no job., livin in his grandparents basement hillbilly... Was pretty pissed with his comments...
Subscribe to Lovebites channel, then you won't miss the new releases. Help support the band, they deserve it.

I would like to see this dude try and do a drum cover for "Soldier Stands Solitarily". 😆
@@TheCyberMantis Oh, yes indeed.

Perfect comment sir, where do I sign? 😁
You got it, Haruna is doing far more than just playing it straight. She doesn't bring along all that kit for show, she uses it, all of it.
@@gt1man931 She sure does use every part of her kit.
@Eyeosphere00 The songs are constructed from a base of power & speed metal. Just say you aren't a fan of those genres and leave it at that.

Check out my favorite song on this new album, Soldier Stands Solitarily. It's wicked fast.

Hey man thank you! I haven’t checked them out in a long time so we might check that out real soon
To the moron who thought Haruna is boring I say "be afraid". Brandy Dynamite will want words with you!
LoL! Yeah, there is a segment of the wolfpack known as "Team Harupi", that will always come to her defense!
I watch that 2 dude reactions too..to much cracked might be
