I re-watched this, and had to say: "It just chugs along, doesn't it?" YES!!! Thanks, I think you are one of the few reactors (even drummers) that actually 'get' Haruna. Of course she's a great drummer, but it is precisely because she "just chugs along". I think that Driving the song Forward is Haruna's constant goal, but AROUND that driving chug she uses some of the most beautiful cymbal accent work I've ever heard. Most people prolly aren't even 'aware' of it, but in the back of their minds their enjoyment of the songs is still impacted by those extra tones in the rhythm. But for those who listen closely to the drummer, it is Glorious.

As you delve deeper in HARUNA's body of work, key in on her peddle work. The rests and spirts that she is able to incorporate in her kicks at insane PBMs to perfectly accent the rhythm is quite remarkable...it's not straight 16ths. That, plus the tasteful fills and the dynamic cymbal work she does while staying so elegantly in the pocket have become her signate touch, and she literally put on a clinic of exactly this here on JUDGEMENT DAY. She has a very unique groove, but it is so subtle that it can go unnoticed to the untrained ear. Blistering talent under the hood, yet she leaves all the space for her band mates to shine. The absolute epitome of how to service the band. 🤘🐺🤘

You have to pick a side and go all in, which I won't do because everything's shades of grey, not black and white. It's his channel, he can do what he wants. So can you--skip it and watch the part you want to see or leave and see none of it. The guy gives plenty of warning of what he's about to do and he's not forcing you to listen to it to get the reaction.
