That poor man, that gutteral cry is heartbreaking. And he was still worried about his dogs 😢 I don't know how he'll ever heal but I wish him only the best.
As a parent, the idea of a psychopath inviting my child over and showing them a dead body, traumatizing them for life shakes me to my core. That poor girl will never forget what she saw that day.
How do you know yours won't be the one showing the body? I'm sure these parents thought this would never happen. Had birthday parties for her, bought her school supplies and everything...
Guns not locked away securely as usual and corporal punishment still used in the schools in that county in Mississippi which has the highest rate of beating kids in schools in the country . Violence at every level
Wouldn't that make your child a psychopath too? What normal child would say "sure, I'll be over in a minute?" What normal child would wait outside knowing there was plans to kill the stepfather? Keep in mind these are grown teenagers. The friend needs to be investigated as well.
This. Thanks. I have schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type, and I was physically abused as a child, so I decided at that age to never inflict violence upon anyone else, because I knew how horrific it was.
When they start talking about mental illness, she nods and cries, as if to say “Yes! I’m ill! Maybe they finally understand me and will be easy on me. I’m sick and I need help, not jail.” No one feels sorry for you, little girl.

I like how the defense goes straight from claiming “everybody could tell something was off with her” straight to “no one could see that she was mentally ill!” 🤨
The male attorney was looking super sleepy during the prosecutors opening statement, and during the 911 operators recording !!! His eyes were heavy ah!
Yet according to all accounts she is exceptionally intelligent. How does someone of such intelligence not comprehend that they would be the obvious and indisputable suspect in this crime? Clearly she was not thinking with her exceptional intelligence. Something was wrong in her brain.
Well there was that one lady who got off a murder charge because of marijuana induced psychosis. Absolutely ridiculous, only thing I ever killed while smoking weed was a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. 😂😂
It's not just the pot! It's likely the pot triggered an episode of mental illness/schizophrenia. I have schizophrenia in my family. And this has happened, minus the murder, in my family. The illness will lie dormant, until curtain kinds of drugs are added into the equation. If you actually look it up, it says that cannabis may cause schizophrenia symptoms to start earlier in life. I hope she gets the treatment needed to heal, and the family will support her as much as possible.
Saying she they didn't know about her mental health issues? They took her to a therapist, and she had medication. That's not an undiagnosed thing that nobody knew about. She's not a victim. She's a killer. That poor stepfather. The moment he found his wife my heart just broke.
Well, that a therapist assessed her but did not realize that she was about to commit murder is a valid point in the argument that her mental issues were not understood.

That quit right around the 1970's. After that children started behaving differently. I grew up in the 70's and we respected our parents, our teachers and law enforcement. It changed after that. I remember when Columbine happened and a young teen next door came over to have a chat. He asked me what I thought and I told him that it was wrong for those boys to kill innocent people for their own fame, if that was the correct term. He agreed. I told him that if he ever thought about doing something like that to stop, think about your future and how do you want to spend it, and think about your family and the family of the victims. This young teen was growing up in a family with problems and I wanted him to feel safe to talk with me. I moved shortly after that and I wonder how he turned out. Sometimes a kind word to a young person will make a difference.

If you’re capable of murdering your own mother, you’re clearly mentally ill. She’s clearly got mental illness issues. That however, is still no excuse.
Mental illness is pretty varied. I mean, she killed her mom over a vape. What person in their right mind would kill their own mother over something so trivial? That sounds pretty mental to me. I'm not defending her or anything and I still think she should do time. But it doesn't exactly seem like the actions of a completely "sane" person.
When i got caught smoking at 14, I accepted the fact that I was in trouble and would lose some trust. I didn’t blame my parents. I just got better at hiding it. Calling her a victim is completely outta line. Don't put this monster in the same category as her mother, whom she murdered coldly. It's disgusting and disrespectful.
In Canada she would have been tried in Youth Court and served until 18 years of age in a Young Offenders Center aimed at rehabilitation. There was a case of a young teen and her boyfriend that killed her entire family a few years back in Alberta and she was sentenced in Youth Court and he, in adult court. It's so weird the differences in systems.

Huh? Kids have been held accountable when they’re doing something so very obviously heinous that ends in murder. We’ve got a whole slew of child criminals dating back decades holding life sentences that have been held accountable for their actions, and that’s just the ones using a gun to commit their act. That’s not even counting the ones who used another form of a weapon (or even their bare hands) to take away another. This idea that they’re only now being held accountable is so bizarre … like we’re going to pretend the last 40+ years with prominent child criminals had never happened and act as if only now that justice is being served to try and drum up agreement and likes from people that don’t even bother thinking about what you’re even saying…. Kids have been held accountable so much that now parents are beginning to be held accountable for being aware of their antics prior while doing nothing and giving them access to weapons. If anything, that right there is the new thing going on that deserves the “FINALLY!” view … because children underage committing heinous acts being made to serve time in prison just like an adult would is not a new thing. Many have been tried and given sentences just like an adult would be given. Many have been tried as juveniles and still continue to serve their time in prison well beyond 18 into their adult years. This is not new just because you’re paying attention _now_ …
But let's say you could prove beyond a reasonable doubt. that it was mental illness. Do you think that's the same thing as a sane person killing someone? I'm not trying to get you on a gotcha, just honestly asking.

FINALLY beginning to hold kids accountable for their disgusting actions regarding guns.
why do kids have access to guns....
So kids should have access to guns ?
Some people look like they don't have a soul, she's one of them.
I agree.
Her eyes are dark and evil.
Richard Allen is another one. He’s the Delphi killer. And he’s guilty AF.
So true
"In the future, we will eliminate the soul with medicine. Under the pretext of a ‘healthy point of view’, there will be a v******e by which the human body will be treated as soon as possible directly at birth, so that the human being cannot develop the thought of the existence of soul and Spirit." - Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925)
You know she's a narcissist. When the prosecution was talking there was 0 emotion. As soon as the defense called the rotten thing a victim, then she starts crying. She will 100% kill someone else.
I noticed that, too.
Narcicist usedtoooften
@rickjustus6416 That's not what narcissism is. Narcissist is the most overused word to describe a bad person.
@@annechris2677 yeah, more like sociopath
Yeah and the smile when she mentioned the ACT score…
She knew what she was doing. She shouldn't be treated any differently than the recent school shooters who have gone down.
Agreed she's another Sydney Powell.
That video of her creeping through the house with the gun behind her back and singing over the last pleas of her mother was all I needed to see.
I hope she never has a day of peace in prison.

I agree she doesn't have one but depression and anxiety isn't the only mental illness so yes there are mental illnesses that make people commit crimes like this such a a psychotic break or schizophrenia for example.@@kyeshiagaines1978

Imagine: On the car ride home from work, this mom is sad and concerned by the news that her daughter is hiding something. It's so concerning, her daughter's friend came to her.
At home, she searches her room and finds exactly what she feared she would.
As she goes back to search her daughter's room with a heavy heart, she feels her daughter's presence in the doorway, and as she turns, she sees her pointing a loaded weapon.
That poor woman...
Wow unbelievable

@@BigTommyWommy Word,
Like many are saying it's not the pot or the vapes that caused her to kill her mother and attempt to kill her stepfather, this teen is a danger to society. It's hard to look at someone so young and say that, but it's true she knew exactly what she was doing and now must pay the price. She should have taken the 40 years because now she's never getting out of prison.
They keep pointing out how smart and advanced she is for her age. She knew better. She didn't care
Weed, especially street/synthetic weed or vapes could’ve caused her to have a mental episode (esp if she was already suffering from a mental illness) when she did this. Not that this excuses what she did, but I’m just trying to understand why :( Rest in Peace Ashley

Right??? There was not one tear shed by this sociopath. You do NOT hide the gun, call your friends, text your stepdad as your mom and then lie in way with the 3 bullets you saved for your stepdad if your are in the throws of a mental breakdown.
