What about any problems with the music app stopping in Apple CarPlay?
What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? What is the phone? What app in Apple CarPlay has this issue?
@@deckerdotto6035 It is the DMH-1500NEX. I have an iPhone SE 2nd gen. The music app for iPhone keeps stopping at random times in CarPlay when I am playing music.
Just to be clear, you are seeing this issue with the iOS music app and not with any other music apps in CarPlay? Please be sure to update your phone to the latest version of iOS available for your phone. If your phone is up to date, I recommend to restart your phone. Please be sure to install the latest firmware update for your Pioneer DMH-1500NEX. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. Do I need to purchase the Maestro RR in order to retain my steering wheel features or is that option already come included when purchasing the DMH-2660?
There are several different ways to approach this. You'll need a 3rd party adapter of some type to operate your steering wheel controls with the Pioneer DMH-2660NEX. It is not included with the receiver. Many steering wheel control adapters are available. Maestro RR is one possibility. Depending upon your particular vehicle, Maestro RR may also provide many other factory electronics functions that would otherwise be lost with a new in-dash receiver. I recently purchased pioneer basic model audio stereo which has AUX,USB and Radio FM. I connected my mobile with AUX cable and tried to play some songs from my mobile. Here my question is how can I control the songs like next song previous song etc using pioneer audio stereo. Please help me with this.
If you plug in your phone through AUX, the only way to control what is being played is by picking up the phone. Depending upon the model of Pioneer in-dash receiver you have it may be possible to control the songs that are being played if the phone is connected through USB or through Bluetooth. What phone do your have? If it's android, what version of the OS? What model number of Pioneer receiver do you have? The model number is usually on the face of the receiver near one of the corners. I have the pioneer dmh-2660nex I had my back up camera installed and the polarity is set to battery, I got curious and switched it to ground, after doing that, my stereo powered off and then powered back on and my clock reset, everything still works fine, I was juss wondering did I do any long term damage?
What you saw is a Pioneer receiver going into safe mode. The receiver automatically shuts itself down to protect itself. When the receiver restarts, generally, there is no damage to the receiver and everything will function normally. From this point forward, I recommend not messing with the camera polarity switch. I know its not HD resolution, but can you soften up the image quality? Android Auto, maps and images look way too SHARP. Is it possible to fix it thru an update?
There are several picture adjustments that can be made on the Pioneer DMH-2660NEX. Remember to engage the vehicle's Parking Brake to enter the Picture Adjustment menu. Please note, the Dimmer setting will effect the image on both camera and source settings. Please be aware of the Dimmer on/off before adjusting the picture. What is the different between the pioneer dmh 2600 nex vs pioneer dmh 2660 nex because I don’t know which one to buy
They are both great receivers. The two receivers are nearly the same with 3 differences.
The DMH-2660NEX has a built-in HD Radio tuner, 2 camera inputs, and includes a wireless remote control.
The DMH-2600NEX has a normal RDS Radio tuner, 1 camera input, and a wireless remote control is optional.

Does it support pinch zoom feature in Maps?
That depends upon the system you're using. As of 2020 August, when using Android Auto, Pinch and zoom works on both Google Maps and on Waze. When using Apple CarPlay Pinch and zoom work in the current version of Waze, and Google Maps. However, Apple chooses to make the zoom function a + or - key touch in Apple Maps. If you are using a USB flash drive to play music or movies, you'll need to disconnect the flash drive in order to connect the phone for Android Auto. When you are on a phone call, please be sure to raise the in-dash receiver volume to a listenable level and to check the phone’s call volume.
Pioneer in-dash receivers output Bluetooth Phone Call audio to the FRONT speaker outputs and FRONT RCA outputs only. Bluetooth Audio, or music played from your phone, will play through all outputs, both front and rear.
Your in-dash receiver may be installed incorrectly. There is an easy way to test it. Using the Fader control, fade the audio output all the way to the front. You can see how to use the fader control in this video: ua-cam.com/video/WfRawQnSPto/v-deo.html Can you hear music? Can you hear phone calls.
If you fade the system all the way to the front and can not hear music, that means the in-dash receiver’s FRONT audio outputs are not connected in your system. Need help with wiring your Pioneer System?

The Pioneer DMH-2660NEX works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto too. That may be a better option than using Bluetooth for music and phone calls.

What the difference between this and the 4660?
There are tons of differences between the Pioneer DMH-2660NEX and far more advanced Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX. To begin with, on the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Amazon Alexa are wireless. on 2660NEX they require a wired connection. 4660NEX has HDMI input, USB-C connection, Hi-Res audio certified, Advanced User Interface, on screen widgets, Wireless updates, a shallow chassis for install and others. 2660NEX does not. Please be more specific. What do you mean by USB won't respond? What happens when you plug in your phone through USB, or plug in a USB flash drive? Pioneer receivers have a USB port on the back of the receiver. You can see it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/h7FDCI7NVv4/v-deo.html Pioneer receivers that have a rear USB port also include a USB extension cable in the box. You can see it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/h7FDCI7NVv4/v-deo.html During the receiver's installation, the USB extension is typically installed in a glove box or center console. This is out of the way yet easy to access by the driver.
If you are trying to use a vehicle factory USB port, it needs to be connected directly to the back of the Pioneer receiver in order to communicate with the receiver. If the factory USB port is not connected to the back of the Pioneer receiver, it wont work. @@pioneerelectronics Alright, since I first powered it up upon installation, the receiver usb icon has been greyed out, When I plug in my iphone to it there is no response in the receiver or my phone, nor does my phone receive any power with with to charge off of. I have restored the receiver to factory defaults with no success in being able to activate the USB. Hope this is the info you were inquiring for.
@@geosynth7371 This is good information. Thank you. Where is the USB port you are plugging your phone into? Is the USB port part of the original vehicle? Or are you plugging your phone directly into the back of the DMH-2660NEX receiver with the USB extension included with the receiver? The USB icon on the screen should remain grayed out until there is something plugged into the receiver's USB port.
