      Please read this complete answer. There is a ton of information available from Pioneer on the crossover settings in Standard Mode and Network Mode. If you want a detailed look at the crossover settings in Network Mode here is a video: ua-cam.com/video/3t9zCiIGO7M/v-deo.html And this video shows the crossover settings in Standard Mode: ua-cam.com/video/Z86fQryoRVk/v-deo.html If you'd like to learn more about Standard Mode and Network Mode setup, please take a look at this video explaining the difference between the two modes on Pioneer NEX receivers: ua-cam.com/video/PeH_h8UHzBw/v-deo.html and if you'd like to learn more about the crossover settings on Pioneer NEX receivers and how they effect the output of the receiver to the amplifier, please check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/WvJXYh6vk_0/v-deo.html As of 2020 May, nearly all Pioneer in-dash receivers have an internal amplifier named MOSFET 50 X 4. The internal amplifier's RMS output is 14 watts. If you are looking for better power and sound quality, the way you do that is with an external amplifier. I recommend the Pioneer GM-D9705 it's a great choice. It's very flexible for installation design and has tons of power. You can learn more about it here: ua-cam.com/video/99Hfmc8QxVc/v-deo.html You could set up the receiver in Standard Mode or Network Mode and still make great use of the GM-D9705 amp. I bought a 2011 Mustang V6 and this Unit was in it along with what I'm sure is a specially adapted mounting plate. Honestly, I thought it was the factory unit because the Stereo also controls the A/C and Heat. The OBD2 Connection with access to some Real Time Engine Telemetry is cool too. I don't have the Instruction Manual so emulating my phone hasn't went well. I'm sure I'll figure it out. This Stereo is Solid and Interesting if a bit hard to navigate.

    Hey thanks for you videos. Where do I connect the car speed signal input wire? The reverse rear signal input connects just to the backup camera wire right? Not to the car?

    • @pioneerelectronics
      @pioneerelectronics  2 роки тому

      The speed signal input wire is typically connected to a wire off the vehicle's computer. The vehicle then provides it's speed information directly to the in-dash receiver. This is very important for the best possible operation of navigation software in Apple CarPlay and in Android Auto.
      Pioneer in-dash receivers are designed to work with the Pioneer ND-BC8 backup camera. I don’t know about the operation of other cameras.
      Be sure to plug the Brown camera output RCA into the Brown RCA Input on the back of the Pioneer in dash receiver.
      The Pioneer ND-BC8 camera needs power and ground to operate. The camera should always have power when the vehicle is switched on. And the camera should power off when the vehicle is switched off. This is very similar to the way the Red Accessory wire works on a Pioneer in-dash receiver. Just because the camera has power does not mean you are viewing the camera window on the in-dash receiver.
      The receiver’s violet/white wire is used to let the in-dash receiver know that the vehicle is in it’s reverse gear and, to automatically open the backup camera window on the receiver screen.
      Do not connect the violet/White wire to the camera.
      When you put the vehicle in it’s reverse gear, the violet/White wire should sense a change in voltage. This automatically opens the camera window on the in-dash receiver. And closes the camera window, when the vehicle is taken out of it’s reverse gear. One possibly connection for the violet/White Reverse Gear wire is the vehicle’s backup lamp terminal.

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 3 роки тому

      I strongly recommend to use the GPS antenna that is included with the Pioneer in-dash receiver. The included GPS antenna is designed for inside use and not meant to be used outside the vehicle. In many modern vehicle installations, the GPS antenna can be installed inside the dash, above the receiver, where it is not visible to the driver. My only concern with this model is the rca/ pre amp out puts. I remember the avic z models 1,2 and 3 had the same ones. And all of them had motor noise issues. Have there been issues with this HU and the Samsung S22 series of phones? I have seen some concerns posted in other areas. I am replacing my 4500NEX (the display glitched out after 1.5 years - more than a little concerning, but it is outside of warranty). Looking for both wireless AA and HD Radio, so it would appear this is my only option unless there are new decks coming out other than the 2770 (which has no HD). Thank you.

    • @pioneerelectronics
      @pioneerelectronics  Рік тому

      In early 2022 Samsung S22 phones with a wired USB connection needed a firmware update to the phone for proper Android Auto operation. The update was issued by Google and Samsung and is working well as of 2022 September. Wireless connections were not an issue. Pioneer firmware version 3.0 or newer is required for best operation.
      For HD Radio and Wireless Android Auto, Pioneer has several options:

    the instructions say to mount the gps antenna on a level surface like the front or rear dash. but, the unit doesn't have navigation built in so would apple wireless still work by just mounting the gps antenna on the windshield near the rear view mirror?

    • @pioneerelectronics
      @pioneerelectronics  Рік тому

      The GPS antenna is designed to be kept inside the vehicle. I recommend to mount the GPS antenna on or, if the dash is made of plastic, vinyl, immediately under the front dash of the vehicle. Do your best to keep the dash level and in turn keeping the GPS antenna level as compared to the vehicle and your surroundings. The GPS antenna is very important for the proper operation of wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android auto along with many different location based services. If you are referring to zooming in and out on maps when using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, the receiver is capable of 2 finger touch operation, however, it depends on the app you are using. For Android Auto you can zoom in and out with pinch and un-pinch 2 finger touch on apps like Google Maps and Waze. You can also touch the + or - screen buttons on the app to zoom in and out. For Apple CarPlay it's use the + or - buttons on the Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze only with the current version of iOS 13. That may change with updates from Apple for CarPlay. The Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX has 22 mounting holes. That's 11 on each side of the receiver. The mounting screws included with the in-dash receiver fit into each of these screw holes. Each of the mounting screw holes is marked with the letters "N" or "T". In order to protect the sensitive electronic components inside the receiver's chassis, the screws must be 8mm or shorter. Hi! Thanks for the video! Can I connect a CD drive through the usb port?

    • @pioneerelectronics
      @pioneerelectronics  Рік тому

      This may depend upon the particular USB CD player, however, typically you'll find the answer to be, no it won't work. The external CD drive may power up when connected to the Pioneer receiver, however, the receiver will not recognize the drive as a usable USB source. In addition, unless you have a CD drive designed for in vehicle use, the CD player will very likely skip and drop playback when you hit any bumps in the vehicle. If you are looking for a way to play your CD's with the DMH-W4660NEX, I recommend to rip your CD's to WAV or FLAC format and, to play the ripped CD's from a USB flash drive. So the wireless carplay feature uses wifi? Not Bluetooth? If so, then id have to use my phone as a hotspot?

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 4 роки тому +1

      When using CarPlay, you can consider the in-dash receiver a 2nd screen for the phone. Wireless Apple CarPlay uses a Wi-Fi connection from the receiver to the phone. When this connection is made, all data that is used by Apple CarPlay, for example maps, music, images any data, is delivered to the in-dash receiver through the phone. You don't need to switch on the hotspot setting on your phone. When you use CarPlay, all data automatically passes through the phone. This is part of the Apple CarPlay protocol. As a side note: if you used the wired version of CarPlay, your phone still provides all of the data, it just goes through the USB connection instead of through Wi-Fi. Bluetooth is an important part of the initial connection from the phone to the receiver, however, once a Wi-Fi connection is established, Bluetooth is not used as part of the CarPlay connection. If you engage the vehicle’s Parking Brake and still can’t access this menu, the in-dash receiver’s Green Parking Brake Wire may have an incorrect connection to vehicle. Do you know when or this this line that would fit in my dash is gonna get it? I really just don't like the look of the floating 10 inch ones or I would have gotten those.

    • @deckerdotto6035

      Yes. Alexa is not required to use the receiver in any way. First, if you don't set Alexa up when you install the receiver, Alexa will never be part of it. 2nd, if you set up Alexa, but choose to use CarPlay or Android Auto, both of those systems disable Alexa, until you choose to change it back to Alexa. • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 4 роки тому

      Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto use the GPS data they receive from the Pioneer in-dash receiver. This is because the vehicle's GPS antenna will usually deliver a more reliable and consistent stream of data. Since it's a wireless connection to the in-dash receiver, it's very possible the phone may be in your pocket, or hand bag, or in some other location where GPS is limited or unavailable. If you use the vehicle's GPS, that potential problem is removed. I don't want alexa in my home or car.

      No worries. The Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX, and all of the other Pioneer Alexa built-in receivers don't need Alexa to work. Not at all. If you don't go through the process of setting up Alexa, then you won't have it in your car or home.
