Tried to find this unit at a car audio shop in Phoenix,Az. Nope Called like 10 shops. I want see how well hdmi works.

Any chance of a firmware update to fix the wifi problem

I have a DMH-WT8600NEX and am having issues with it. I have updated it to the most recent firmware. Where can I get support for this? Everytime I start my truck is tries to do an update or something and asks me to connect " a USB mass storage device with audio update file". Also I use Apple Carplay and everytime I start my truck up I have to disconnect my phone in the connection settings and reconnect it or else it won't play music. With these 2 problems it takes me up to 5 minutes sometimes to get it setup and ready to play music every time I start my truck, I have to wait for the usb mass storage message thing to play which also causes a little pop up that doesn't go away until the message is over. And I also can't go into connection settings while driving so I have to wait parked until I go through this whole process. It's quite frustrating.
Please supply some additional information. What is the vehicle? Make, model, and year? Please reply with the exact message as it appears on the receiver screen. Does the message appear shortly after starting the vehicle, or when you change sources, or is there some other type of trigger for this event? Are you using a "flush mount" or other type of USB connection to the back of the receiver? Or are you using the USB extension cable that was packaged with the receiver? Are you using Maestro RR or Metra Axxess in this installation? For Apple CarPlay, are you using a wired connection? Or a wireless connection? What is the phone? What version of iOS?
Is there a way to talk on your phone itself when the android auto is running? Say I have someone in the car with me and don't want them to here my conversation. How do I transfer the call to the phone?
Yes, you can use the handset for a call when using Android Auto. Please be sure it's safe and legal in your area to hold the hand set to your ear while in the vehicle.
When on a phone call and connected to the in-dash receiver through Android Auto, touch the Blue Telephone Button, on the in-dash receiver screen. Bottom Left.
This will open the telephone menu. Next, touch the Bluetooth Logo on the in-dash receiver screen, and then select Handset.

@@pioneerelectronics thanks for the reply. Also I do have a headset that I prefer taking on. I can answer a call with my headset but the call will automatically transfer to the radio. Anyway to transfer back to my headset? Thanks for the help.
@@countryboy4914 I'm not aware of a way to use the in-dash receiver to transfer the Bluetooth connection to another device. However, this may be a function of your connected phone. It may be possible to use the phone call window on the phone to choose a different Bluetooth connection.
Would this fit in a 2015 Toyota Auris?
I don't have install data for a 2015 Toyata Auris. The Pioneer DMH-WT8600NEX is a 1 DIN install. If you can put a standard 1 DIN CD player in the vehicle then the DMH-WT8600NEX will probably work great. Please download this .pdf file and print to see the screen size in your vehicle:

Are there cameras that work with this unit? Beyond the stock backup camera that is. Like a dash cam and another rear camera for accident logging. I bought and installed this unit and enjoy it but after seeing so many accidents caught dash cams, it might be a good idea to add cameras. Thanks.
As of 2021 May the Pioneer DMH-WT8600NEX is not designed to operate with a recording dash camera or accident camera. This type of camera can be used in the vehicle, However please note, there is no integration with the in-dash receiver. Very similar to the DMH-SF700 which came out last month except with a bigger screen. Can I buy this anywhere in Japan?

Does Pioneer USA offer a full-on DSP functionality say along the lines of my Killer DEX P99RS? .. Fully active is where it's at.
Pioneer does not offer the DEX-P99RS in the US. Many Pioneer receivers in the US offer fully active RCA outputs. It's not the DEX-P99RS, but similar in many ways. The RCA's can be set up as High, Mid, and Low with full crossover and slope settings or as Front, Rear, and Sub output. This is known as Network Mode or Standard Mode.
