I do have a story to tell regarding stretching myself. I have been churched since I was a little girl and are fortunate to have served in many ways. Our pastor was on vacation when the interim speaker for that Sunday cancelled unexpectedly. The worship board on which I was serving was scrambling to find a last minute replacement when I heard myself offer to do this. The board quickly said yes and I thought what have I done? I am a retired ICU/OR/PACU nurse and am accustomed to speaking in front of people but, giving a message in church that will give comfort, support and perhaps some new thoughts to the congregation? Well, I did it!!! The topic came into my head, I went back to some familiar words and it went well enough that I have been invited back. Oh and did I mention that I am 82 yrs old? Never say Never.
I am so happy that you have returned to your more original format for your show. You and Stewart are a perfect team and it’s good to see more interaction with the two of you again. The added weekly interviews are a nice touch to add without going to a separate channel.
Linda and Stewart this video was so GOOD!!! Thank you for putting so much time and effort into making your videos; I enjoy all of them. The info about hand therapy was so valuable and I took down the website to locate a hand therapist in my area. Enjoy your week at the resort and I can’t wait to hear all about it.
I love those little terracota pots!❤ I have one of those can openers…love it! I offered to house sit for new friends of mine who live in an inherited 1800’s farmhouse in CO when they wanted to travel to Germany. They actually loved the idea! Me calling GA home, flew out & got a free 2week stay in CO incl a car & made another friend with their next door neighbors sister who was visiting, giving me someone to go out shopping & dining with. Pretty awesome!
My. best ask came when I was the Gardner at an estate, very old and most beautiful, Circa 1654. A TV program noted an upcoming tour of Dutch farmhouses, without mentioning this estate. I called the star of the show and asked them if they were aware of this oversight and was rewarded with air time and a huge thank you The gardens shonethat day!
Hi, just a mote. The larger the circumference of a handle or pencil and a like, the better. You can not grip large width as tight. Some ppl hold pens so tight when writing, it give them carpal tunnel or hand problems.
I started experiencing arthritis in my hands about a year ago. I cut out processed sugar because sugar causes inflammation and inflammation causes arthritis. I’ve noticed a significant improvement. Headaches in the beginning but they faded as my sugar addiction went away.
I had such a bad case on my right thumb fro arthritis I suddenly could not even open a small equal packet.. it hurt most of day and awoke me at nite I had a wonderful hand surgeon take the huge bone out and fix it!!!! AT ONCE TOTAL RELIEF DID NOT NEED PAINPILLS BUT DID HAVE TO WEAR A CAST FOR 6 or so months them did PT and now I consider it one of the best things I did!!! My point is if you suffer all day and nite from this surgery is a major cure!!!! Thanks Linda for having a great PT on this topic!!!!
After shoulder injury and replacement I bought a blow dryer stand. It looks like a microphone stand. One clamps on to a counter and the other is more portsble for travel that uses suction. My arm is so weak for long blow drying. It’s great to be able to use both hands to style. I sit in a chair to dry.
Linda this was a great episode! I love that you were able to get out of your comfort zone and do both of the things you did! You go girl!! I don’t know if I could do that. Looking forward to the interview and hearing about your week!! Have a wonderful week at the spa!!!
Those little black Cool Comfort supports are the BEST! I have worn them for extra protection and support after CMC joint surgery. I keep a set ready to use when I have overused my hands and thumbs. They are comfortable and really help the joint to heal.
I too have a Calista heated roller brush. Mine is 9 years old. I love it! The two items you bought at the thrift store is your blue plaid shirt and the black & white rug/ furniture cover.
The two items that you thrifted with John is your plaid shirt and the abstract table cover black and white at the end of your video showing your matches.
Dove soap is the best cleansing bar. I just recently experiment with Dove and found out the wonders of dove as a cleansing bar for a smoother skin while providing a gentle cleanse.
Great video. Loved hearing from Patty - great tips and information. Thanks for that makeup bag recommendation it looks like a great Christmas gift idea. I always love your lipsticks so thanks for passing on what you use. So encouraging hearing about the 2 times recently you have gone outside your comfort zone and it has been such a positive experience. This whole video was so positive, helpful and uplifting. Thanks Linda and Stewart 😊
Thank you for sharing hunny 🎉. Love your in home videos, I'm not a gardiner just like pottering in my low maintenance garden.🎉 love from Rosie O England 🏴
Linda & Stewart, Awesome video! Linda, thank you for sharing your favorite products, hand expert therapist, & how you took 2 risks that were out of your comfort zone & are reaping fabulous results. Out of my comfort zone, in February of this year at 69 yrs. I traveled to Australia & back home to GA by myself for a whole month. I stayed & traveled with a friend from college who is a permanent resident. I had the time of my life!
Awesome video Linda! This was just packed with such valuable information, and I especially applaud you for getting outside your comfort zone and expanding your horizons. Enjoy your red rock canyon to the fullest! You richly deserve it 🥰💐
Wow Linda I was just finish the replay I love the wrist band I have one and my thumb had a bump I called bunion Dr said it was a ganglion (?) but said exercise it -wrong the wristband helped and the bunion went down but I’ll have to use it again. The spa is exciting you are so brave you remind me of my friend who is not shy and has lots of friends just by introducing herself etc.
Hi Linda, five years ago I learned about oxalate and lectins in our food. Sally K Norton wrote a book called Toxic Superfoods.Once I started following her program, I no longer have joint pain anywhere in my body. Just by avoiding certain foods. And by the way, I’ve been using my hands in my line of work ( hair stylist)for over 40 years, and thought I would end up with arthritis but I don’t. It would be worth checking out her book and website.
I spy the pearl snap shirt you have on and the black and white textile you have on the coffee table in the great room as the thrift items you just purchased.
I just bought mochalicious and Jam with me! I use on my cheeks as well. Have always used lipstick as my blush. Stays on all day! I also use various colors of lipstick as well. I also use a setting powder after applying my blush and my lipstick. Also over my eyeshadow on each eyelid. Makeup stays on all day. And then a setting spray all over my face when done with my face makeup application
All CPAs i know in my generation (75 plus) has arthritis in their right hands from using the number keypad. Occupational hazard. Accounting may be considered a white-collar profession, but workplace injuries occur even when you wear a suit and heels. Best video for gardeners because it helps us continue to garden.
My philosophy about “asking” is, if you don’t ask, the answer is always, “no”. It’s what I’ve always told my daughters as they were growing up and anyone else who might be afraid to “ask”.
Hi Linda, You picked up your light blue plaid cowgirl shirt with the pearl like buttons that you are wearing and also the black and cream colored throw/rug from India on your thrifting adventures yesterday! Janet 😊
In southern Utah, we have had an extremely dry summer, so we don't look our best. Several episodes ago, you mentioned how dry Oklahoma City has been and it gave you some anxiety. As gardeners here in southern Utah some of us are making some changes to how we garden, considering our extremely dry summers I am envious of all your rain.
Linda, I love this episode. I enjoy garden and other things as well. I have some mild arthritis in my hands from my former nursing occupation and gardening. Thank for your therapist guest. The video was very informative. I cannot seem to find the link for the Cool Wrist Brace that the therapist recommended. I only saw the other one on Amazon. Can you provide the link please? Thanks so much!
You look nice in that western shirt you purchased at Good Will. So practical! ANd did I spy the small round basket behind you in the make-up scene. linda from ne
I planted about 100 bulbs yesterday… I was in so much pain last night. I’m in need of a spinal surgery (2 part) and knee replacement…not to mention the hand pain. I’m not as healthy as you Linda. 😞
I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. The nurse in the doctors office recommended Tumeric. Purchased Vegitarian Capsules on Amazon and the spice in the supermarket. Pain subsided within 24 hours. Hope that you feel better. ❤
Hi Linda…Try taking turmeric, it’s supposed to help with joints and bones…They suggest it for dogs too…Also as others have said, reduce if not eliminate processed foods especially sugar from your diet…Hope your wrist gets better soon… *If possible can you please tell me where you sourced the big candle you got in Santa Fe…I emailed you but not sure you saw it…Thank you 💚
I do take turmeric and think it helps a bit. Don’t eat lot of sugar … I agree on that. Candle is Santa Rosa candle. I got it in Santa Fe, but can’t remember the store! www.etsy.com/listing/742107544/santa-rosa-candles-4x8-pillar?click_key=05ef636dcf87c1bdbfb7c2c2f2ffbb3492bc92a5%3A742107544&click_sum=4b1c592e&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=santa+rosa+candles&ref=sr_gallery-1-3&organic_search_click=1&sts=1&content_source=298fbfb987d2fef100a6322716d1086f0ba86f90%253A742107544
I have been busy lately but now found time to watch some of your latest videos. Thanks for all the tips on proper gardening for your hand health. I noticed your lip pencil was marked as an eye pencil. Was that correct?
I have learned so much from you! I appreciate that you are genuine, and have purchased your books for my gardening friends as gifts. I couldn’t find the link for the makeup bag you showed on the video with your hand therapist friend. Please send me the link or info where I can find it. Thanks
I think you bought the planter which was on your outdoor table at the beginning of the video AND the magazine holder which was near your living room chair.
I think the candle holder on your dresser and the magazine holder in your great room are the thrifted finds. Love the pots, the Amazon link looks different from yours. Enjoy the spa!

Thrifting with John Turman?!? 😍What did we do to deserve this??!
I love your plaid shirt. Blue is my favorite color and you made it beautiful.
Thanks. I needed that confidence boost. All too reticent to just "ask" most times! 😊
Both videos were so fun! Your blue plaid shirt and the table cover.
Oh those Terra cotta pots are beautiful.
Way to go Linda,enjoy yourself!
I started experiencing arthritis in my hands about a year ago. I cut out processed sugar because sugar causes inflammation and inflammation causes arthritis. I’ve noticed a significant improvement. Headaches in the beginning but they faded as my sugar addiction went away.
What about salt?
I can't believe people don't know this. Sugar is the worst for many reasons.
An early Christmas present for all of us - thrifting with John Turman! 🎄
I so agree! Can’t wait!
Linda & Stewart~~ Thanks for always bringing !! Me Joy on your journey. Enjoy your podcast too.. So don’t !! Get lost in the forest⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟💫✨🥰

You’re wearing the flannel shirt you purchased thrifting yesterday
I have never seen a wrist brace for golfers elbow.. I have only seen braces that go around the arm proximal to the elbow
