Linda, you are absolutely glowing, today.. I think that your happiness and satisfaction with the cottage is why !! I’m so happy that this move has proven to be the right one, for you.. having made several moves myself, I know that it could have turned out differently. To leave the home where you raised your family, while necessary can still be heart wrenching. But, it is easy to see that the cottage has given you a new lease on life, and I can see your grandchildren running about your garden.. so happy for you and excited for this next chapter of your life.. you remain an inspiration for this 69 yr old gardener, who has made several moves in the past few yrs. You take the saying ‘ bloom where you’re planted’ to the next gorgeous level ❤️❤️❤️
One of the greatest things about the cottage is the open airiness and light that it has but who dosen't like a pocket door. I am sooo in love with your home and My favorite outside space is your backyard. Although the front is gorgeous
The new home is gorgeous. Stewart’s smooth camera work is appreciated. You two are a dynamic duo. Thank you for the beautiful tour looking forward to more.
This was so special Linda! Your cottage is amazing, inside and out. How you completed all this in such a short period of time is mind boggling. You are a master at your craft! Love the heated throw idea. Thank you!
Linda, you may want to consider this for parlor/dining space; at my last house I added a full light double pocket door into the library opening for privacy while still allowing natural light in. Now I have “downsized” with a similar double opening into a den adjacent my great room. Instead, I elected to do a barn door style full light glass panel door mounted on the inside. From the great room it looks like a pocket door at literally 25% of the cost. No wires to move or drywall dust etc. It was completed in a few hours with no mess and the barn door hardware also gives the inside of the martini room some character! I also have the battery operated sconces in my dining room and also in my entry “hall.” Money well spent.
Linda, love, love, LOVE this tour! You and I are probably close in age so we have many likes in common. Baskets, paisley, beautiful books, candle light, gardening and on and on and on. Thanks so much for all of your inspiration and great ideas!! Youre the best, xoxo btw, your office was a charming and artistic HOT MESS, I wish mine looked as good!
This vid is everything! The lipstick maroon outfit, the interior decor, the garden, the outside fire, the explanation of things... Linda you are such a wonder! 🍂💚
I absolutely loved this video! Your home is brimming with inspiration! I would love it if you could do a video on the items you stock your bar and pantry with for the holidays! Your bar/coffee stations are so welcoming.
What I like about your videos are they come out almost everyday. A lot of shows wait weeks before they have another. I appreciate you giving the audience lots to see during a week. You have a large following because you work at getting your viewers to watch utube.
I love basket as well. I use them all over my house. In the living room I have plants in baskets, books in larger baskets on the floor, and in the bathroom I fill a basket with extra TP. You never can have too many! The cottage really is perfect for you and Hubs. It is beautiful and cozy!
Stewart is so careful to pan the room slowly so we take in the details and not get a ding-dong in our eyes : ) Thank you for a great tour, Linda. Love your exquisite taste and resourcefulness.
Oh my Linda. The cottage is such a beautiful home!! You are such a great decorator. Very cozy and comfortable. I love everything about it. The outside spaces are also very beautiful. I would love to sit at your fire pit and sip some hot tea. P.s. I think your possible idea of pocket doors for the parlor is fabulous! Thank you for the tour.
Yes I have many many baskets and I love them all, big, small, medium even tiny tiny, round, square, oval, oblong, grouped together, storage, whatever, they are all so much fun and beautiful!!!!!
I like putting hats and gloves in a basket in my small living room. Since I have no coat closet I have to be creative. I also store very neatly folded fabrics in several pretty tag sale baskets.
I like the idea of an arched doorway to match the front door. I went to the library today and found a book in line with what I’ve been doing. Getting rid of‘stuff’ so my kids won’t have to later. I’ve put the outside to bed and have started fall cleaning the house. But this time I’m getting rid of a lot so the upkeep won’t be so hard for a77 year old. I tried to take a pic of the book, but can’t. The title is: The Swedish Art of Aging Exuberantly.
Love the pocket door idea to separate your space. Your home has come together beautifully. Amazing you have accomplished so much in such a short period of time. Looking forward to your botanical collage in your bathroom. Your friend Deborah is so talented!
Love everything in your house and yard. You have great taste and creativity. At first I thought your little bowl of foraged finds was snacks. That reminded me of the time my parents came to babysit my two, young sons. Mother always kept small bowls of snacks out for my dad. When I got home my boys, about ages 4 and 7, were laughing hysterically. I asked them what was so funny. They told me grandpa had tried to eat the potpourri! Poor Grandpa, in his 80s, thought he had found himself a bowl of snacks but soon discovered it wasn’t very tasty.
Have many different baskets. My favorite one I choose to wear as an "Easter Bonnet". The handle serves as a chin strap, and depending on the weather I either stick artificial flowers on top or if a beautiful sunny Easter I will indulge in "real Flowers"!!!! Lol...thought you might enjoy a chuckle. On a serious note; I love your channel!
Omg. The cottage is perfect inside and out. I'm living in an old home with a terrible yard currently. My plans are complete renovation, slowly, inside and out. You inspire me.
I LOOOOOVE how you showcased your young friends' pictures! I worked in early childhood for almost 50 years and seeing someone really respect young children means so very much to. me. Thank you. Everything else is awesome too!!
Definitely a basket hoarder here much to my youngest daughter’s chagrin 😂 I often tease her that I am going to will them all to her! I use them all the time. I think they are practical and I love the texture they bring to a room. I used to hang them from a pot rack over my kitchen island which encouraged their use. In an effort to update things in my home I removed the pot rack. Now I have my most used baskets stacked on top the frig ....,not too sure that’s an updated look but I still wanted them close at hand😊
Always make time to catch Linda's video on UA-cam! You inspire me ...maybe not to do an entire outside garden or an inside redo...but inspire me to do something today. Baby steps decorating is my style as I have aged. As for baskets, I love large one-of-a-kind baskets to store my favorite books. In groupings of three, they find a home in various corners around the house. Yes, I use baskets for towels in the guestroom bath and a few times a pot-like one for a plant. This has been my style for years. I enjoy your videos and thanks to Stewart for all his help.
A tisket a tasket, one can never have too many baskets!! My favorite is a harvest basket I purchased at my local antique store. It's big, it's reinforced on the bottom. I use it to store my full size quilt project I'm working on and convenient for picking up and taking with me holding all the needles, thread etc necessary.
Everything has developed into a cozy, stylish, lovely home filled with treasures gathered through a lifetime together for you and hubs❣️ Wishing you many happy years of making more wonderful memories in your beautiful cottage on the hill 🥂❤️
I loved your previous home but the cottage on the hill is just perfect in all aspects. Every time you do a tour I see something else that just makes it perfect. Your artwork is stunning. I am so drawn to your style. Love your seasonal changes that just make each room pop. Linda, you are definitely a designer of home decor, attire and gardens. I so enjoy your channel and look forward to each of your videos. K❤
Oh my, baskets! They hold throws, magazines, books in the fam room. Fruit, veggies, napkins in the kitchen. Snacks, storage containers, water bottles in the pantry. Towels, cleaning products under counter in the bathroom. I can think of hundreds of other uses!!
One of my favorite videos of yours. Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your home. It’s nice to see the rooms come together. Your den is so cozy and cultured with you and your hubby’s treasures on display. A nice blend of the two of you. You and Stewart are a joy. Thanks again!!
Hi Linda! I loved this tour! Your home is simply charming, and I still cannot believe it is not even a year yet that you have been living in it!!! While I love your entire home I simply love, love, love your great room!!! Have a wonderful day. Hugs! :)
Sheer CURTAINS WHEN closed would let light through when closed but when open would look so elegant. I've used them in my small cottage. Classic and Timeless
You and hubs got a great cozy house/cottage it so awesome!!! At first I thought WHAT???? WHY WOULD YOU MOVE FROM THAT GORGEOUS TUDOR HOUSE…But with your changes and redos and touches it’s fabulous and more spacious for sure!!! Love this tour!!! Thanks so very much for sharing!!!!❤
I’ve loved your home since the beginning, you have a wonderful decorating talent. I love the office and laundry room, these are areas that I need help with. I also love that your honesty of the guest room and office issues of how these area are lived in. Hello to Stewart, great job as always.
Your cottage is so lovely! My favorites are your kitchen space, master bathroom, & your family room in the back is a surprise bonus. I remember when you first revealed it on your tour. I was surprised at all the space you have in your new cottage. It’s the perfect home for you & your husband. Last but not least, your outdoor living room is amazing! Enjoy every inch of it!
I also have a large open bookcase in my study, which I have a love/hate relationship with. I'm a collector and I not only have books and photographs on my shelves, I also have antique bottles, fossils, feathers, and of course DUST! I absolutely hate dusting it because the shelves are so full! Your shelves are beautiful.
I love, love the openness between the kitchen and the living room. Adding an archway entrance between the living room to the kitchen would make it even more cozy. And maybe adding stones to the archway wall from the bottom to the top and all around will look very romantic.
I am so glad that you made a long lumbar pillow out of the fabric ! It was so nice to see that you switch out the cocktail napkins on your bar cart . Switching out cocktail napkins on my bar is one of my favorite things to do as well. It just makes me happy . Thank you for the tour , l do love pocket doors and they are perfect in that they would look like they are original to the house . Have a wonderful week .
I love how you don’t apologize for how you decorated in the laundry room and clearly acknowledge that the storage system isn’t as nice looking but it works for you.
I have closets right inside my door from the driveway. The first closet is full of baskets...one for batteries, one for candles, one for pet supplies, one for chargers and tool batteries, one for insect repellents, one for herb garden stuff, etc., etc.
If you do the pockets doors, I would use frosted glass so the light could pass through (instead of mirrors that are on your other doors)… personally I like the openness of the area, but pocket doors would be nice too…
Gorgeous new pillows in the parlour. I love blue and white, so this room speaks to me. Yes, I feel a basket or bowl with one type of fruit looks like a still life to me. Your home is absolutely beautiful. You have done an amazing job decorating. I also use a lot of baskets. I have some for storage under our buffet server, in our sunroom to house wool throw blankets rolled up as needed for the outdoors and guests, rolled up bath towels and bath rugs, and our two Toy Schnoodle’s clothing, leashes, toys and treats. We are a home of many pretty baskets with many uses ❤
I love watching your show? You’ve done a lot of work to inside and out in a short time. You give great ideas. I love shopping and thrifting as well. Can we meet Stewart again sometime?
Hello! I so enjoy watching the two of you! And your home is so lovely- so many little spots of inspiration, Linda. Thank you for taking us on this wonderful tour!
What a nice relaxing video. Love how all the touches are meaningful and very classy. Love the idea of the sliding doors for the parlor and kitchen, it will give a very different, cozy look if you decide to do it.
I love the look of the big bowl of pumpkins in the corner! I think that adding the green leaves to the apple basket in the ding room adds a very nice touch. Yes, I too am a basket horder. I have many different designs and styles. I love using them in my home. I love asters, and the color of yours is simply spectacular. I love the pocket doors in your bathroom. A great use of space. I like the color of the closets in the laundry room. Very pretty choice. I noticed in your backyard that you have many terra cotta flowerpots on a table. Do you keep them outdoors overwinter time? Here in my area, it gets down to single digits in temperature, so I am unable to do this. This was a wonderful visit to your beautiful "cottage on the hill". Thanks for sharing it with us.
The cottage is beyond beautiful inside and out - just lovely. Looking forward to seeing what you do for Christmas next. By the way, I’m really liking your outfit today!
I love the chemistry between you and Stewart! Your friendship really shines thru in this video - he is not just the man behind the camera!! 😉

What a gracious hostess! Thank you Linda and Stewart for the tour of the beautiful cottage!

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us! Can’t wait to see it on the Christmas Tour!
Hi Linda and Stewart! Thanks for the tour. You have so many special treasures, and they are highlighted beautifully in your home❤
You have achieved so much in a short amount of time. Very admirable, and welcoming for sure. Thanks Linda, for opening up your home to us. 🍁
Everything is beautiful ! Happy Fall! 🍂🍁🥰looking forward to getting the Journal. I have so much to write !
The cottage decor is flawless!
I love the raspberry color sweater and slack you had on.
I always get inspiration with every vlog! Thanks Linda!
I love how you don’t apologize for how you decorated in the laundry room and clearly acknowledge that the storage system isn’t as nice looking but it works for you.
Dear Linda, Do you ever get tired? We’re the same age and you have more going on than I care to even think about! I love all you do😊❤️🥰
I have closets right inside my door from the driveway. The first closet is full of baskets...one for batteries, one for candles, one for pet supplies, one for chargers and tool batteries, one for insect repellents, one for herb garden stuff, etc., etc.
Your home is amazing! Thank you for allowing us to see it.
Beautiful home! Please take us along when you shred the leaves! Very interesting.😊
If you do the pockets doors, I would use frosted glass so the light could pass through (instead of mirrors that are on your other doors)… personally I like the openness of the area, but pocket doors would be nice too…
Love the big white chair and that new lumbar pillow. Such a cozy parlor! linda from NE
Love baskets. I love my magazines in them all over the house
The front of the house looks so beautiful ❤️
Gorgeous new pillows in the parlour. I love blue and white, so this room speaks to me. Yes, I feel a basket or bowl with one type of fruit looks like a still life to me. Adding some foliage takes it to a new level. My favorites are apples or pears. Also, I light a candle every day. Usually more than one. Doesn't matter what time of year, although fall and winter I do go candle crazy. I would never put a partition or doors of any kind separating the parlour and kitchen. The space is too small for that, plus when would you ever really use them on a daily basis? The only thing I could see in that opening.... is curving the corners to mimic the arched doorway. Simple and inexpensive change. Do you miss the size and fireplace of your old bedroom? It had such a cozy charm,, with the library wall behind the headboard. It was one of my favorite rooms.
The tour was great! I’d put the same doors between your kitchen and parlor. Very pretty. ❤️
Can we meet Stewart again sometime?
my favorite video!
I agree, I love baskets that are different and they are so useful for a variety of reasons.
Thank you for letting us see your Fabulous home, continued blessings.🥰
I love pocket doors. In my last house I took a stock pocket door and painted a beautiful scene on it. It became a work of art.
so enjoy your content. Beautiful decorating and inspiring
Love my baskets! I was thinking pocket doors when you asked at the start of the vlog!!👍
I agree….my DustBuster is a must have! Great tour….love the cottage feel you have created !
Enjoyed the trip through the house again, very homey
