    I can’t believe how fast the viburnum tree is growing it’s going to look beautiful when spring comes along next year.

    I have Dewalt pruners like yours and I love them!! My husband made me promise to keep my other hand back by my side while pruning so I don’t chop my fingers off.😂

    Yes, you're great Linda for that pruning routine. I'm on board with your eye for its beauty in the garden. I am going to slowly adapt my garden like this. strangely it's not as popular on this side of the pond. I've watched you for years doing this and speaking of appreciation for the beautiful structure the bones of a tree or large shrub that you transform with this method. Overall I think it s0mehow makes a garden a more magical place. Having canopies created for seating areas or to walk under, exposing negative space of course makes for a bigger look to your space or opens up a space for smaller seasonal plants. And yes I agree with you the branches do look very attractive when cleaned off of their leaves, making for another element of interest in the garden, especially if a particular tree or shrub has a colourful bark.

    I love this working walkabout video. Your teaching in pruning a shrub into a small tree is helpful to me. The garden edits that leave “breadcrumbs” for tulip bulb planting is genius! I only wish I could grow tulips here in N. Florida Zone 9. 🌷 💐

    Sadly we can’t do the leaf mulch thing. We have big leaf maples, and we get so much rain over the winter it turns into a slimy slug palooza… I tried one year and lost a lot of plants due to slugs and mold. BUT I bought the Worx leaf mulcher and it works great until the leaves are too wet to mulch. It’s been a huge help with the beginning of leaf drop clean up!

    It's amazing how fast the boxwood teenagers grew. I'd move them now, before their shade starts to interfere with the shape of the spheres. More room for tulips! Also, I hope that's an earthworm and not a jumping worm.

    Looking forward to your next video on amaryllis bulbs. Mine have been growing long strappy leaves since late August. When is a good time to cut them back? Or do I just leave them alone and wait for the winter to kill them off? They’ve been growing outdoors in containers. I have them mulched with moss so bugs don’t eat the bulbs. I’m in zone 10a Northern California.

    Question about Cool Job gloves. I like mine, but they are starting to get sticky. Anyone else have this problem? I wash them in the washer but never put them in the dryer. I let them air dry. Any suggestions?

    • @SusanMathews-gu7jd
      @SusanMathews-gu7jd Місяць тому

      Yes, I've noticed that, too. Perhaps it was due to tossing them in the washer. Or maybe that's just their problem. I have laundered other gloves with no problems.

      Those leaf blowers! I’m considering petitioning my city to outlaw them! The gas powered ones that landscapers use are crazy loud and a health hazard and most of the time are not necessary on small city lots. Love watching the seasons of your garden!
